    You forgot to mention this:

"To get this offer, you MUST use the SIM that is included with the BlackBerry CurveTM 3G 9300 smartphone and you MUST connect to BlackBerry Turbo Cap. Existing customers must register their upgrade, swap SIMs to the SIM included with the BlackBerry CurveTM 3G 9300 smartphone and change their rate plan to Optus BlackBerry Turbo Cap"

It doesn't make sense going to crap Optus network and its unclear (and always fined) T&C's, better switch to Telstra.

    • wait? so is it a prepaid phone or not, i thought with prepaid you can buy what ever you want… by optus saying i must sign up to a turbo cap and change my sims?? doesnt make sense…

      • The SIM has to be a SIM capable of accessing Blackberry Network and the Turbo Cap includes access to thos services. You can use any sim you like (Optus, Virgin, Boost, Woolworths or TPG) but you wont get access to Blackberry services unless you use the included sim and join the Blackberry TurboCap as that includes access to the Blackberry Network.

        • BB services ain't all that anyways.

    • Don't quite understand this condition either. So if I buy the phone and don't use the included sim, do Optus take the phone back? Do they block the phone or suddenly charge me an extra $100? How do they ensure you sign up to the Blackberry Turbo Cap?

  • how to unlock this bb without a fee?

take it to someone shady on a back alleyway in the city

no, take it to a shady mobile phone unlocker on a back alleyway in the city.

  • Someone might want to surf around Whirlpool or elsewhere to find out more. The last time i bought a prepaid Blackberry Curve 8520 one year back, it was unlocked despite the same clause in the T&C.

  • It should be able to be unlocked, if not already unlocked. As long as you're on a prepaid/post-paid SIM plan that gives you BIS you should be fine to use it.
