First post here. Can't believe how cheap I just picked up one of these. Saw the link on Kimovil. Even more of a discount with the coupon code attached. Good luck, mods plz delete this if it is somehow wrong.

Mod: Price updated to include tax and coupon discount. AUD approximated using MasterCard rates, paying in USD.

  • Best to include AUD price as well mate

    • I am not sure what the AUD price would be as I live in Japan and paid in yen. Can I just use an online currency converter and post an approximate AUD price?

      • Yeah, that should be sufficient

      • Yea of course you can lol

      • +1

or up the top between Save more & english you can select $AUD & ships to Australia

in case you post again :-)

    Estimated delivery time:Jun. 10 and Aug. 26

    • Pretty sure someone has a full 2020 calendar on the wall and a bunch of darts to figure out their delivery times.

      • +3

Delivery is usually via Kong Kong or Singapore, and will be extremely slow due to limited flights. One of my orders from Aliexpress was handed over to the airline in Hong Kong on 17 April, and it only departed Singapore on 23 May. It had been sitting in Hong Kong or Singapore for more than 5 weeks. No idea when it'll land in Australia.

    • It looks like I can't see the shipping options without signing up for an account.

Can anyone confirm if these guys offer faster shipping options that don't completely kill the deal?

      • +1

DHL $17.88 USD is the only other option

Good price. Ticks most of the boxes except NFC though

why would anyone get a phone without nfc in this day and age? Pretty much the main reason I have a phone (GogglePay) lol.

    • +2

In Japan where I live, only domestic phones and iPhones have the compatible chips for their commonly used NFC technology. I have learned to live without it.

      • +2

fair enough. I was referring to Australia and especially Ozbers with 29 Amex cards

Global Version Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 6GB 128GB has NFC, but approx $90 more at AU$384

      • There's also the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro with NFC, but obviously it's an older model.

        • And at this price, not any cheaper either.

          • +2

@ext23: Yea but if NFC was a necessity for you (for whatever reason), it'd make sense to buy the older one with NFC. It's older, but "only" ~6 months older. Redmi cycles are ridiculously fast.

      • btw does this phone is any better than LG either v30 or v40???

    • +1

      Phone for the parents.

      • If it's for parents, I think you could probably go even cheaper, haha. Could go for a Redmi 8A or something

"why would anyone get a phone without nfc in this day and age?"

      Maybe me?
I don't have it, I don't miss it. Different people will have different needs.

Literally no idea what NFC is for except paying and i wouldnt use my phone for that, so for me NFC is literally at the bottom of 'do i care if it has x' list

      • +1

same here… nfc or not the same to me… use to when it was all started amex, samsung and paypal has some promo good deal… but now i would rather use credit card.

Don't buy from DHGate. Same seller, same phone ordered on 25th April, still in Hong Kong. If you still want to buy, pay $30 for DHL or wait for few good months :)

    • It's not the sellers fault, a lot of shipping is heavily delayed due to reduced flights.

      • Agree, however same phone from Toby Deals was delivered in 2 weeks from the order date. And DHL delivery is like 7 days or so. It's best for people to be aware of this before buying from this website and this particular seller on their default free shipping method.

  • Thanks OP!
I ordered on on May 27 and it arrived today.. much earlier than the initially quoted September arrival date.

  • I paid for DHL delivery and still not arrived till today. And the refund procedure is a pain, i am losing around $50 in the refund process (if i even get it) as the seller would not agree to refund, i had to negotiate a lower refund. Don't buy from DHGAte - its a scam site
