Must be 12 years or older (Under 18's must have a parent or legal guardian)

Serious question, 12 year olds are allowed on the range?

    • Thanks for updating with the conditions. As long as they are with a legal guardian by law it is allowed. They will take the utmost precaution however and make sure the minor is comfortable and follows all correct safety requirements before they are allowed to shoot.

      • Sorry, wrong thread.

    • I am not surprised. I went to the one in Surfers Paradise and saw a 12 year old in the range shooting and also saw a 9 yr old accompanying their father.

    • Of course minor's are allowed. How else are we going to make our olympic sporting champions? :P

  • Do you need to be licenced for this? Surely there is some sort of screening?

    • You definitely don't need to be licensed for this as licenses only apply if you own a gun. The shooting range has a licence that allows people without them to come to the centre and practise. I believe they do have some sort of screening where you can not be under the influence of alcohol or any drugs.

Awww, so no shots between shots? =[

      • What is stopping a crazy person doing a massacre at the range?

All the other people with guns……..

  • lol nice name rep, so with your shooting practice do you bust-a-banka?

    • Ha ha no no I created it because my bank account is always busted so it was kind of fitting. Maybe should bust a bank to get some funds in there

  • Anyone else thinking of pulling the trigger and taking up this deal? Let the puns begin! :)

    • Might as well take a shot at it

    • May as well bite the bullet, I say.

      • That could backfire

        • But it seems to be pretty good bang for one's buck.. No?

        • hope you don't shoot any blanks if you go.

        • It should be fine as long as nobody jumps the gun

    • Deal isn't what I was targeting for, not within my range.

I might suggest this as a Christmas function for work. I'm sure this is some way to increase chances of of a promotion next year.

    • The voucher is valid for 6 months so you will be able to use it for your Christmas party definitely

  • How abt I buy a voucher and a friend of mine also wants to share the rounds?
Also, it says pistols, does it include Magnum?

    • Hi there I am not sure about if you can share it. Also I don't think it includes a magnum but you can probably fire one at an extra cost. I have provided the number so feel free to give them a call them and find out (02)97960600

Just checked this against a range in Adelaide (http://www.marksmans.com.au/range_packages.php). A similar price of $120 will get you a "Super Trev's Special" which will give you:

    SUPER TREVS SPECIAL
    60 shots on a 9mm Glock
    12 shots on a .45 Glock
    24 shots on a .357 mag Ruger GP100
12 shots on a .44 mag Super Redhawk

That's 108 shots vs 106, but imho you get more variety and a lot more shots on the bigger handguns at Marksman's(though no shotty!) $120 is their regular undiscounted price.

I'm not dissing this deal, but just say'n that the "Total Value of $260!!!" might be overstating it a little. Anyway, they aren't directly comparable since they are in different states. Maybe bullets in NSW cost more…

    • Totally agree

  • Anyone who is considering this should contact a few local shooting ranges, as IMO this isn't that good a deal. Most shooting ranges in NSW will now allow people to do a "try shooting" program, and although they may not have as many different guns to try, you may get lucky and have a nice club member allow you to use their gun. I did a try shooting program at a local pistol club, and for $20 I got to shoot 50 bullets in their "competition" style shoot (5 shots per round, 10 rounds, on both static and turning targets), all with a .22 pistol - after the shoot we had a chat with another member who was "wasting" some ammo as he reloads his own and had under-loaded these shells - so he allowed me and 1/2 dozen other friends to do 6 shots each of his .357 magnum.

You can also do the try shooting with rifles through SSAA NSW - it's $30 for 50 shots from a .22 rifle, and an additional $30 if you want 20 shots with a .223

PS For those asking what checks are done, you have to fill out/sign a P650 form to allow you to shoot, which asks about previous convictions and things like that - these are audited by the firearms registry, and if you lie on the form, you're likely to be charged with some fairly serious offences.

    • Could you tell me which local shooting club offer the "try shooting" program?

      • You'll find all that and more here:

        Ammu-nation,
        47A-K Lower East Side
        Vice City
        GTAville :)

  • I would otherwise jump at this, but all the other dodgy ikoala 'deals' guarantees I won't touch it with a 40000ft pole.
