I am currently on NBN100 ($83/m) with Kogan and usually network speed is fine fr my use, been thinking about downgrading speed to NBN50, saw this new promo and i'm being tempted to subscribe, if any one is after NBN25 then this is good value for a starter package.

      You probably mean router.

  • I don't think you were be able to get the introductory special because you are an existing customer. I got exetel 50/20 for $60 but that is not available any more

From 100 to 25 speed ? Are you sure ?

    • was thinking 50/20, but before NBN was on 30mbps optus cable which was averaging 17mbps, used to notice bit of slowness during evening with kids using internet otherwise speed was fine. now 25/5 @54 is bit tempting :) (it $30 in my pocket)

IMO Belong is better. Their Starter Plan is $55 a month for 12 months, or $60 for month to month. People have reported the Starter Plan is 50/20. Plus you get $80 Belong Mobile credit.

    • For what it's worth, people have reported that Belong has started to speed shape the starter plan to 30Mbps download speed. Usually kicks in a few months into their 12month contract.

You can read about it here. Jump to the last comment by spedstyle. Still, at $55 p/m and getting 30Mbps it's still a good deal if you are happy to be locked in for 12 months.

      • I'm lucky to get 25 during peak hour with Belong at the moment

      • Like OP downgrading speed, I came from Bigpond cable 116/5 to crappy HFC NFN. I can confirm this as I'm on the Belong deal. Shaping happened almost after a week or two, and still have 10 months left in the contract :( I average 37mbps on most nights and it is still usable with Netflix 4k is just manageable. I will be upgrading the speed to "Starter Plus" for 50mbps as I find it doesn't meet my usage requirements…

    • Belong is connecting FTTN/B and FTTP only. Not available for FTTC or HFC currently, has been the case for over a month now.

  • for $59, go with MATE NBN… reliable, never drops 25/5

  • I got FTTN and my speed is approx 21MBps with NBN 50, not sure what speed I will get If i choose the NBN25,

    • I’m on HFC NBN25, just did a speed test on my phone, via WiFi, in a busy apartment building, and I still average 18Mbps.

    • You'll get half of what you're getting now. It won't be 21Mbps.

  • Eh, paying $59.95 unlimited on NBN50 with internode.

  • Expired - $57.90 per month now.
