It's been this price since before Christmas which was when I bought mine, pretty sure it's stayed that price for the entire time since then. At that point the model was just over a year old and was $750 cheaper than the equivalent iphone 11 pro max 256GB model. Phone has been flawless for me and I love the big size, and definitely a bargain compared to the newer model where basically you're only paying for a better camera. The cameara in the XS Max is still amazing though so even now I think this is a good deal.
camera is below par compared to huawei and samsung.
There is no way in hell this is "normally" worth $1,999 considering it's not current gen.
Not familiar with the Apple pricing & market value obviously, you do understand that they really don't have any competition considering they have their very own eco system, while Android have numerous manufacturers? Also the new model is twice as much so go figure.

Probably because it's actually "brand new" with 2yrs Australian warranty,just a guess. Also it's not an old phone, just a previous model, with the latest being double the price.
