    Valued at $547!

I doubt many people would value it at that…

"If kit items are purchased separately."

I take it as meaning each piece sold at the individual rrp

  • What is with the tax time thing, can someone explain? Thx

    • +1

Maybe you get tax return and spend on tools😁

    • +4

We are nearing the EOFY, so it's a good time for businesses (or tradies in this case) to spend before doing their taxes so that they can claim these tools as part of their deductions.

  • Anyone who is a tradie or had a dad know if these are the best value for money? I just need something to do odd jobs around the home.

    • +6

probably not the best value for money, but are good tools. this "blue" line is their professional line so theyre built to be used often and have a long life, particularly as this drill is a brushless drill (better longevity). if you're after something that is good value and only do odd jobs every now and then, an ozbargain favourite is the ozito branded drill that is often half the price (lucky you, looks like bunnings has a deal on for ozito drills right now https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/537808 for the skin and https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/538162 for the battery)

      • Cheers for the write up mate appreciate it.

I will have a look into both at them at bunnings tomorrow :)

  • How is this compare to Ozito PXC 18V Brushless Rotary Hammer Drill?

    Thank you.

    • +3

Had both, if you use it everyday, go with Bosch. If every second blue moon, go with Ozito.
Ozito will last if you don't use it heavily like 30 hours a week and half of the price, don't forget batteries and chargers too.

    • this isn’t a rotary hammer ……if you drill a lot of brick or concrete get the ozito brushless rotary hammer …..

  • There are better packs/kits out there if you want to spend a bit more. Not sure who actually pays the regular price for $547

    _<

    • Which deals are you refrring to?

    • Any good packs with a sander and jigsaw

      • Yeh also after orbital sander, circular saw and jigsaw (doesn't need to be all), if anyone knows any deals.

I'm new to powertools, getting into wood working….

Hardly worth the money. At work, we have 8 of these Brushless hammer drills, 4 have repairs done and the other 4 are on their way to repair. Only light metal drilling (0.8-3mm steel) only, little hammer functions used. Chuck is the main problem.

With 6 years warranty, you have to register to get additional years, and their website will let you to download a ZIP file which contains warranty info to keep. It is your responsibility to keep that file and print it out. In short, Bosch website won't store anything, bad luck if you lost your file or you kept your file in your home/work computer, and this is 2020. With AEG, just to compare here, if you registered, you can login on the website anytime anywhere with phone and find you tools then be able to see the receipt etc. warranty paperwork. So at work, I think there was one Bosch drill in particular was purchased just for the warranty purpose.

Battery is not CORE range, so average, at work we got 12 Batteries and 4 being CORE range, and are very good, non-CORE range ones just OK, not bad but not good either.

If in this kit, drill is replaced with angle grinder, then it will be a good deal.

Buying power tools nowadays is buying into a system, and Bosch is not good option in terms of ranges of tools nor core tools quality. For Trade, a bit weak for everyday abuse; For home, it does not represent good value for money, Ryobi is the go.

TL;DR, this drill is weak as piss and check their warranty on chuck.

    • Good reply

When you register the tools for the extended warranty, it keeps them all on your account. I just logged in and mine were all there, can download the certificate at any time…Ryobi or Ozito are definitely a better proposition for DIY though IMO, can walk in to Bunnings and swap it on the spot.

doesn’t seem as good a deal as the $230 kit was …this kit only has std charger , but at least the other one was drill, driver and 2 batteries,

this is ok for $180, but if you need to buy 2nd battery, and a driver, it will become expensive compared to a bundle.

    • Charger takes 24 minutes for 80% charge, that’s pretty cheap.

      • 80% of 2ah battery in 24 mins, so this 5ah would be over an hour ….that ok if you had 2 batteries ….or some cold beer if doing diy ….

  • Seeing other places have it for the same price does that mean an extra 10% off at Bunnings?

    • Wouldn't think if it's same price

      • Ah, yes, it’d need to be a cent cheaper. Bugger.
