Probably not as good as the deals late last year of $199 including charger and battery, but reasonable deal nonetheless.

Tradetools is awesome, great customer service!

  • What would be the cheapest/most cost effective way to get a battery and charger for this? I'm in need of other tools too so wouldn't mind buying another makita tool to get a battery and charger.

I would buy a used dual bay or rapid charger. Then pick specific Makita skins that you need but also includes a free battery as a redemption. Throughout the years, I picked up 9x free Makita batteries through this method, as they ran it pretty frequently for their outdoor garden cordless tools.

    • If you don't mind third-party batteries you can look for "makita battery replacement" on ebay, just remember to search for the correct battery code name. I paid $110 for a pair of 8Ah and a charger. They last really long before having to charge again. Good enough for DIY things around the house.

What other tools? If they come as a kit (with a battery and a charger) than that would be the most cost effective way.

If you actually want the cheapest… look on ebay for 3rd party makita that can be charged using usb-c fast charge. Then you dont need a makita charger… or at the very least you are buying a cheaper usb-c charger that is not just limited to makita. It makes sense if you ask me.
