And preemptively, don't start with the "I never got my sample" bullshit. Every. Single. Time. :/

      • i no, rite?! I neva gots noe sampal!

        'Sample bullsh*t'?

        Worst. Jerky. Flavour. Ever.

        • my favourite is the original… i'm not into the other flavours…

        • blazin' saddle rocked my world!

I wondered how long it would be til someone brought that up lol

      • Rightly so. Given how poorly they've handled past promitions I find extremely hard not to neg this as not worth the hassle and uncertainty….

PS: "Big Chief has been quiet for a while, guess he's been busy"
Yeah, busy hiding from pissed off former customers.

        • +2

          No Ferret, just busy,

And I must say previous to the last fiasco customer service was top notch with me sitting up all hours answering all post every time for close to two years.

But looks like it will take another two years to gain trust again. :-(

Found it tooo hard to bite. Beef Jerky in Hong Kong I bought recently tasted way better IMO.

    • Agree. Laos fresh jerky are also nice.

      Beef Jerky in Hong Kong

is that the fresh, soft ones…. yuck….

    • You got HK Beef into Australia?

      • i worked there…

there's also a place opposite QV in Melb that sells it…
Obviously some people like it, the texture is not to my taste though…

  • tried the sample awhile ago - not free mind you and doesn't taste very good. way too salty :(

    • I know it's down to individual taste, so I'll go ahead and mention that I'd say the opposite.

I really enjoyed GJ, seemed a more authentic texture and packed with spicy flavour. But my favourite all time is that fried marinated pork 'jerky' Bok Kwa or whatever it's called. Miss that stuff from when we lived in Sydney.

      • Hey Matty, that Bok Kwa sounds amazing….my mouth is watering ;-)

      • Off topic but where do you get this from in Sydney??

        • Some of the Asian convenience stores in chinatown (Sussex St?), as I recall - though I'm told it is also sold at the Friday night chinatown markets. It's usually made pretty fresh because it doesn't keep too long. Tends to be a dark-reddy-brown colour, (sold warm?) and it has this pull-apart texture. Like a meat roll-up ;)

Bak Kwa (or Bak Kua) is what I know it as

  • Don't worry.

    Howdy All,

I was going to post and let you know that I have had the crew prepack for this special-All the orders that have gone out this morning are already packed ready to go.

We did win a Bronze Medal TTiger for our Blazin' Saddle at the Sydney Royal Fine Foods Awards -This is traditional American style beef jerky that is cured with various natural ingredients and needs salt as we have no preservatives. This is not kho bo uot or bakkwa but good dried beef jerky.

    Take care…………….

    • Hey Chief,

It's obvious you're working hard to match the delivery experience to the jerky quality - which I think is pretty high. I know first hand there have been some delivery/supply issues in the past but I for one have appreciated seeing your many efforts to respond personally.

Seeing demand for your own product skyrocket must be both exciting and challenging at times: keep growing and hang in there; I reckon your jerky is worth it.

      • Hey MattyD,

Thanks for that-thats really kind of you and it is greatly appreciated.
I was really hesitant on posting any more deals on here until we had a solid supply
and all of our systems were firmly in place.

        Take care

        Kind Regards,

        The Big Chief

        • Sorry Big Chief,

Wasn't aware of previous issues. Will let you put the post up next time when your good & ready.

As previously posted elsewhere, having disliked Jerky the whole of my life, this stuff is fantastic.

One issue with small business, is determining demand & setting pricepoints. This deal looks like it was done for the 2yr anniversary to say thanks, but priced so as to avoid previous issues. Much of which I’m guessing were out of their control.

I have found Big Chief has always provided good feedback & communication and as a customer, it is always good to have our concerns acknowledged.

Thanks for your efforts & gratz on the award, well deserved.

  • I bought a spicy variety form these guys a while ago and was impressed - very tasty.

I dont think I want to wait 2 months + again haha. Not much of a deal anyway… (compared to the ones they have had in the past, if you can consider it a deal when it takes over 2 months to deliver haha

      you obviously have difficulty reading…

Yes but we all know, you can write whatever you like here, doesnt make it happen.

Will wait n see i guess.

        • i've ordered from them a few times and never had a problem… although i didn't order during the last 50% off sale… still had some in the pantry…

      • +1

All orders placed today up until 4pm have been packed, sent out with email and tracking number sent to customer :-)

  • -2

Shocking customer service. An absolute disgrace the way they handled previous problems. No way.

    • Sorry Voteoften,

Did we muck up your previous order?

    • +1

I've ordered many times never a problem, people from my work order from them never a problem, my family orders from them never a problem.

  • hmm, I wondering why these are almost twice as expensive as my local jerky shop.
Does anyone have a picture of their product? All I'm getting from Google images are…

    • where is your local jerky shop?

  • If anyone wants quality jerky and NOT have to worry about postage buy a food dryer and make your own - you will never ever want to go back to store bought ones

    • +1

btw $20 for 200g seems like a fairly good deal

In the past 18 month, i been searching/buying Beef jerkies from different shops all over Australia, after tasting at least 20 different kind of jerkies from different shops, let me say this, nothing beats the Geronimo jerky yet, at least for me, the last order from Djays tasted just like dry raw beef and i end up chucking away over $50 dollars worth of beef jerky. and few other times i bought jerkies been processed so much that when left outside bugs don't even eat it…

today as soon as i saw big chef posting i bought 2 X 600g pack, its not as cheap as past deal, and there is no free shipping, but it worth it for the quality and taste of the jerky.

FYI, big Chief didn't pay me to write this and i paid my $115 for my jerkies. just wish i didn't waste my $$ on those other place who each claim to have the best taste jerkies.

Keep up the good work and hope you can do better deals for us jerky lovers Big Chief.

    • +1

Have to agree - it's one of the best i've had. Although the last major deal it took 3 weeks to get the jerky it was well worth it! I tried jim's jerky and i'm not really a fan…

The only other great jerky i've had recently was actually from the wednesday markets down on queen street in brisbane, it was $10 for 150 grams - it was great!

  • 200g for $20.00 that is $100.00 per kg.!!!!!!!!!!
    Very expensive
