Don’t think they allow both offers…

That will be the deal of this year for click frenzy if they allow it.

Or free OPPO Reno 5G + $100 left in gift card with this deal:
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/536051

        • That's a deal!

        • +2

Credit can only be used in store on the same day of eligible device purchase and connection to the eligible plan. Credit cannot be used on any other items in store. Not available with any other offers.

So you can't have left over credit from the looks of it

          • @pippohippo: You can keep the change on the gift card.

Essentially 65 plan is stand alone for $700 then buy whatever you want. Any department.

            • @farque: just confirming, the $700 phone credit will be given to you in the form of a gift card?

              • @jobargain: Yep HN Gcard

                • @farque: I went in today to get this deal and was able to get the $700 Giftcard (Can confirm it comes in the form of a giftcard) also got the beats solo 3 however I wasn't able to use the giftcard to purchase the phone in the same transaction, i had to pay for the phone in full and now have a spare $700 HN Giftcard. I had to do it this way to get the beats, was informed this was the only way.

      • +1

        I think they will.

Customers who (a) purchase an Apple mobile device outright in store at Harvey Norman, Domayne or Joyce Mayne and, at the same time, (b) sign up to a new $65 My Plan Plus 24-month SIM only plan (min cost $1,560), $45 My Plan Plus 24-month SIM only plan (min cost $1,080) or $45 My Plan Plus 12-month SIM only plan (min cost $540), will be eligible to receive a bonus Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones in Matte Black. Offer excludes Apple tablets and watches. Max 5 per customer. Not available with any other offers, unless specified. Excludes recontracts, rate plan changes, TechFund and Fleet customers. Plan cancellation fees apply.

    • Either that or this. You cant get both in any deal

    • Still a cracking deal for those who want the New Iphone SE.

      For a 128G Model
Optus and Voda both cos 83/month on the 50G plan and $93 on the 100G plan.

This HN deal is $70 per month with 80G.

Note Vodafone has not excess data charge.

Still hoping Optus can throw put a great Click Frency deal this year.

    • Correct! You can get beats also.

  • New services only. Excludes TechFund and Fleet customers. Cancellation fees apply.

  • +13

works out ok if you really need 80gb data & are intending to spend $700 at HW already, downside stuck there for 2 years, better off losing 20gb & going JB/TGG 60gb 12m $400 GC only 12m contract

    • +1

Problem with Telstra is there is not much to write home about lately, not to mention it was shocking last year.

The 24 month contract does suck but when the alternative are just as bad, it make you feel better.

Wonder how long this offer last? My plan was to wait and see if Optus Click Frency will have some cheap small plan so my wife can tap into my 200G pool. IPhone SE 2020 with this plan will work too, just not desperate for a new phone.

      • cant say im aware of the telstra issues im with old optus $40 80gb plan, problem with these 24m contract once you blow the $700 GC you are stuck paying a very high monthly cost of $65 for 24m, what seems worth it when you sign up seems expensive 12m down the track, so unless you have something worthwhile to buy at $700 look at other options imo

      • +1

Can confirm, just ported to Telstra for the JBHIFI $45 45gb 12 month mobile plan $100 welcome credit, getting 15mbps down, 0.5mbps up, metro area. Optus was 100+ down and 30+ up. Telstra apparently no cooling off period with JBHIFI plans so stuck.

        • How long did your port take you? I'm porting from Optus to Telstra on the same deal, applied Monday, still waiting for the port. Telstra have submitted it but Optus are dragging their heels …

        • +1

I can concur, I have made the switch between Optus and Telstra several times over the last few years. Telstra just downright sucks even in Melbourne CBD - especially indoors.

This is with multiple 'flaship' handsets, Apple or Android.

I switched back to Optus as recently as last month, because with Telstra I couldn't properly tether and work from home.

        • +2

lol, telstra connection in the CBD is atrocious. Back when I was contracting for Telstra in their head office in Melbourne CBD, I used to tease my Telstra colleagues about their connection, I used Optus and had 3 times the speed telstra had inside their building :). But if you go to country, yeah no go for Optus

      • Telstra has reduced support in favour of their not Codi. As a result there's prolonged wait times when issues arise. Telstra was OK when I signed on but now I wouldn't continue it past my contract term.

    • I thought the JB/TGG 60gb iphone SE offer ended on April 30th?

  • +1

If you add a phone on you will have to add that to the monthly price, example buying a $1000 phone will add $12.50 ((1000-7000)/24) to the monthly plan if balanced over 24 months, so would cost $77.50 per month for a $1000 phone over 24 months.

    • Isnt this a BYO phone deal. So $65 a month for plan and you buy a phone OUTRIGHT at the same time and get $700 credit towards the phone.
So a $1000 phone would be $65 a month plus $300 after "device credit" is applied

      • Yes, $300 over 24 months is $12.50 a month. So $65 + $12.50 a month = $77.50 a month

I'm on BYO optus for $12.50 a month now. Two years is $250. 2 years of this deal is $860 if you subtract $700. This obviously has more data though.

  • +2

I am with Optus at the moment (out of contract), can I get this offer ?

    • New services only.

    • port out then port back in.

      • Probably won't happen for a while. I'm trying to port out from Optus now, been over 5 days since the request was sent. Managed to get a hold of someone today who said the porting team in India is not working due to COVID.

  • +1

This used to be $40 a month with no bonus shams. Still a great deal but you need to be able to justify the spend at HN. (Just saying)

  • +1

    I on $36 pm with OPTUS with 80GB + 4GB international , dont see a deal there.

    • mine just expired last week, now paying $50 without the discount.

      • +2

Wasn't last years 80GB + 4GB international deal life of the plan?

        • +1

it is a sim only plan with a 12 month contract, $20 credit discount so only paying $30 per month with 80GB local and 4gb international.

        • +1

Probably look at your bill. While discounts used to be "forever", it seems that once Optus moved people to their new billing system, it now says things like "$10 off for 24 months" and the credit/discount will drop off at the end of the contract term.

      • +2

Your discount should still continue after the contract term is over. Im almost 2.5years into a $36/m Optus plan ($45 with 20% off).. I've had my S10+ since launch and they have not changed me over to the 115/m plan. Funny enough I have tried 2 times a month on chat and calls to get it resolved but they don't and so I figured I've done enough. I'll just be happy with my $36 S10+ plan with original bonus data still incouded lol.

    • It was an epic deal but wasn’t it 20% of $50 plan making it $40/pm. How do you grab same deal for $36?

      • +1

Probably student 10% discount as well

  • This doesn't seem to include unlimited international and 2GB roaming, correct? Of so I will stay with legacy $41.25/m that gives 80GB internet plus above. I understand it's for new service only but that's easily solved by porting out and back in.

    • There would be a waiting time usually 12 months to port back in.
I am not sure what it is with Optus.

      • i did it and it took under a week. was a couple of years ago so they might have changed policy, also Covid 19 is going to make it more difficult atm.

make sure you port off to a non-optus reseller. apparently their system doesn't handle internal ports well. i did Optus to Telstra $2 pre-paid sim and back to Optus.

  • +1

My phone plan is due in a couple of months, and i'm disappointed that the price of these plans hasn't decreased since nearly 2 years ago when i signed up. Its likely i'll have to pay quite a bit more per month to get an equivalent package (currently got note9 + 100gb inc global roaming on optus for $91/month)

    • +1

I have been on $40 a month 80GB since last May. $50-$10 I think wait a couple weeks if you don’t need the $700 voucher. Click frenzy just around the corner

    • +1

Ever since late last year, the 3 major telcos have dumped their phone subsidies, and the deals are awful… So deals like these are where it's at, so you can put the $700 into a phone handset.

      • +1

I don't want to buy a phone outright as my company pays my phone bill up to $100/month so want the phone payments as part of the plan and as close to $100/month as possible

      • +1

Seems like this is the case. I was on a $49/ month plan with Telstra, 24 month contract that came with a free Samsung S8. Plan ended late last year, and nothing similar was available. Asked a salesperson at Voda and the lady said it's because phone costs are so much higher these days, along with cost of 5G hence many telcos need to recuperate costs.

  • +6

No love for Circles.life with Optus coverage at $38pm with 100GB and no contract?

    • +2

I had to launch a dispute agaonst Circles with my credit card company… they continued to draw on my account after is ported away from them for the next 2 months

  • Sorry, am I overlooking something in the page? It only says Handset credit and not gift card.

    • Yeah, I was wondering that

"$65 My Plan Plus 24M SIM with Handset Credit:
Approved customers who (i) sign up to the Optus $65 My Plan Plus 24 month SIM plan (min cost $1560 over 24 months) and (ii) purchase an eligible device outright with a minimum cost of $500 will receive a $500 device credit (‘Credit’). Credit can only be used in store on the same day of eligible device purchase and connection to the eligible plan. Credit cannot be used on any other items in store. Not available with any other offers. Available until withdrawn."

      • +2

Yeah OP has wrong Ts and Cs. Standalone offer. $700 gift card for the 65 plan. You can spend that on anything over 3yrs.

  • +4

Not bad if you are using 70%+ of that data usage a month already. For all other cases, I wouldn't bother… I'm in the team to reduce as much living cost as possible…

  • +2

I miss the $49 per month with a decent phone with about 20GB deals

  • Is the (New Services Ony) means If I am currently with Optus and my service is due soon I can't apply for this and get the benefits?

    • same boat, I am waiting for the Telstra plan JB HiFi plan with similar credit.

  • +2

I pay about $5/month SIM hopping, and I am glued to my phone (no 4K streaming though). Phone depreciates $9.80/month based on 24 months useful life.

  • SO where exactly say it is $700 GC????

    I see a number $500, and I see a device Credit!!

    • It's 100% a $700 gift card

      • Are you sure it is a $700 gift card to spend as you choose or $700 gift credit towards a phone only?

        • -1

          Yup

  • Anyone tried with regional 20% off offer
I had grab this deal 2 year ago in 2018

  • Just confirming my understanding that this offer can only be taken up in-store, seeing that is NOT advertised on the website and not reflected in the T&Cs (they still refer to the $500 credit) - is that accurate?

  • So can I get the pixel 4 xl and move to Optus?

  • 100% a $700 gift card to be used at Harvey Norman. Confirmed it tonight at my local one when enquiring if I can use it to purchase a TV

  • +9

Hi there, for those on the Gold Coast , My name is Marcos and I work at Domayne,I'll add to this deal a set of beats headphones on top of the $700 GC.

    • Would any store reps in NSW also be willing to do this?

    • The free Beats offer only works when you usethe credits to purchase an I-phone T&C apply

  • What's the ETC for this plan?

  • Do optus charge you extra to use their 5g network like telstra do?

  • Just noticed the $700 offer is listed on the website, but it links to different T%C

  • +1

@farque Thanks for clarifying and I hope all Harvery Norman branches will approach this deal as you outlined.

If you don't plan to spend over $700 in Harvey or your don't need 80G of DATA a month, then this deal is not for you. Its that simple.

For those who is thinking about this deal(like me). You are likely in two situation, here is the maths:

    1) I just want the plan and the gift card. it comes to 35.83 per month for 24 months pricing in the gift card

    2) I want the plan, the gift card and the Solo 3 wireless. Many people already selling these in ebay most likely from the on going Harvey deal. they are going around lower than $200 but for easy calculation, just say its worth $200. Assume you are going for either the 128/256 iphone SE. your actually monthly spending is 27.50 for this 80G plan.

Remember there are no free lunch in this world. Think of it as Harvey giving you interest free payment for a gift card and bundle on a super cheap 80G Optus plan.

For plan hunters, I can tell you the only thing that can kind of compare with this deal is Voda's 100G plan currently going for $50 which is a great deal by itself. it comes with unlimited data and free international calls. Some would say what about COL's $38 plan? We from what I have seen comment's here, if you want to lost your number in porting or chasing cancellation of payment, feel free to go with COL, I won't.

Then the ultimate question, what about Click Frency? Last year, their deal was 20% off. Now if you have follow Optus in the past 12 months (I have), you will notice they have been really stingy on deals. So my feeling at best they will do the 20% again but bloody unlikely.

  • Already with Optus for a similar price, no contract. Would porting out and back in work? If so what would be the easiest company to port to?

    • spend $2 and get a sim from Voda or Telstra.

Will they let you port straight back in is a concern though…

      • +1

I think this deal will be roll end of may or June.. so take your own time for porting…

        • The deal has always been there but extra $200 on gift card and the free Beat solo 3 also staying for long? It will be great if someone can confirm this will hold till click frency.

I don't think optus will pull anything better though…bloody stingy!!

          • @syswong: Both offers are on until end of June at this stage, or until we run out of beats…

  • OK. But isn't the 12 month + $400 a better deal?

    (12 x 65 - 400) / 12 = $31.6 p.m

Plus the contract length is 12m and not 24m.

Either way its not that great a deal as you can get 80GB + 4GB roaming for $30 effectively from optus without being forced to buy a new phone at RRP from HN.

    • How is 31.6 better than 27.50 ?

I did have a look if you want to take out the phone se 2020. Now that is a deal!

You end up paying $15 for 12 months with 80G data, assuming you can still get Beat solo 3. The catch is bigger upfront payment, 599 for the 256 and 449 for the 128.

and where can you get the 80GB + 4GB roaming for $30?

      • Which plan is $27.50?

        • By you signing up the deal and take any of the Iphone SE2.

You up front will be different depends on the model you pick.

Say 64G uou will have to paid 49 + 1560 (over 24 months) so you paid 1609 in 24 months period.

You get a phone that worth $749 abd the beat solo3 which I valued at $200, you pocket $949 of gear.

          (1609-949)/24=27.50

  • Last weekends JB deal on the P30 with Telstra was infinitely better than this one as it was only 12 month contract yet garnered less votes…go figure

    • +1

I am using one of those now, from last year JB deal. Free phone for plan is what they are good for, thats it. I wouldn't pay for it with my own money up front.

You can sort of make a deal like that in Harvey. take the $65 12 month plan, use the $400 towards the Reno 5G. On paper a much better phone. 199 you more (upfront) compare to P30 but your processor is 50% faster, 256G, 5G….

Not a bad 12 month deal if you ask me.

  • +1

Just for everyone, I went in to HN today to get this deal.

You can get the $700 Gift and the Beats solo 3 - you have to purchase an iPhone with the plan in order to get the beats. I was then told you can't use the $700 Giftcard towards the phone as it is all on the same invoice, So I paid for the iPhone, then was given the $700 Giftcard.

I figured it was better then just taking the plan and getting the giftcard as they beats are worth a bit anyway and hopefully I will be able to sell the giftcard for as close to $700 as possible.

  • May be Marcos or Farque can clarify?

I examine both deals, T&C for the $700 credit is here. Then there is the $500 credit with a Beat Solo 3 deal.

If Bargainz91 is correct, you need to pay full upfront if you want both deal, but can put credit again handset if you go with either one?

BTW i mentioned before the Solo 3 Wireless us worth less than $200. if above is true, then we should just just go for the $700 deal. Also may worth to hold off till Optus bring out their Click Frenzy deal as Harvey Norman $700 credit deal ends on 30/06. To match that $700 credit, Optus will need to come up with at least a 15% discount.

    • Apologies I missed this one.

Hoping the general feedback about successful experience overrides the T's and C's origionally seen for this post.

      Can confirm

65 sim plan = $700 HN/JM/DM gift card to spend on anything in any department.

I had a customer connect 4 of them for the family and buy a samsung TV.

If you use the $700 toward any Iphone outright purchase you additionally get a free pair of Beats Solo 3 Black headphones.

  • I confirmed by phone the $700 reduces the cost of the device and if you're buying an iPhone they include the beats. Based on anecdotal evidence regarding resale value on ozb it's approx $900 off an iPhone.
    Tempting . .

  • +1

Got this yesterday for my son's mother. She was happy. Thanks OP.
I ported my no to optus on a $49 month to month plan and received a 25% discount on it and free international calling for both nos, effectively paying $36.75 for it. so in all,

Optus $65 24 month plan for missus with 80gb data
Optus $36.75 month to month plan for myself (dont even know how much data it came with. Data does go in family pool).
    Free international calling
    $700 discount on phone
Beats headset ($280-$300 value). Plan to sell it off. Lets see.
Apple TV subscription for a year ($7.95*12 = $95.4 value)
$60 in store credit to spend on mobile accessories. I got a Cygnett case and a screen protector.

I got an iphone 11 for a price of $1276

    • Good to see that you got some benefits

      • While writing the above I was wondering, why didnt I get a phone for myself as well ;-)

    • +1

That $49 M2M is likely to be the standard Optus $49 plan so 60G

You won't be able to get a phone on a M2M plan let alone bonus, but 25% discount price is good these days for an Optus plan. That $49 is standard pricing though so you should have wait for Click Frenzy. Then yet again, I don't think Optus will pull anything spectacular this year.

      • I did think at the time I should wait for CLick Frenzy if I want better port in deals. But the rep said When I convert from month to month to a 24 month plan, it will still be considered port in. Hope it is so.

        • From what your wrote I assume you got the Iphone 11 128G right?

That will cos you 2454.72 over 24 months with Optus Optus, and that is only 60G data

Now with Harvey, you pay 576 for the phone and 1560 across 24 moths for the contract. Say you get $200 for the Beat Solo 3. So you pay 1936 across 24 months with the Harvey. That is a 22% discount and I will love to see Optus beat that in Click Franzy. I won't count on it though.

BTW, Solo 3 only sell for about $230. Trust me you won't get more than $200 and that is lucky, already people are doing $170

  • +1

Thanks OP. I went first thing Saturday morning and got $700 off the iPhone 11 Pro Max (on the $65 24 month plan) + free Beats Headphones.

  • +1

Cheers OP, picked up Pro Max, $700 off and headphones, great deal . .

    • Where from, Melbourne?

  • I have a brief play with my colleague's SE 2020. While it snot bad, it's just way too little screen. The photos looks ok but not to the point that you say "OMG I want this phone!!"

  • Also, health workers can apply for 3 months free bringing per mth cost to $56.

  • Anyone in Melbourne got the $700 deal + phone, plus free Beats Solo3 wireless headphones?
I dropped into Sunshine HN today and was a flat No way!, we don't know about this offer, we can not do this.

Anyone able to upload receipt? Seemed to indicate this to be the only way they may look at it… however personal past experience they won't, but worth a shot I guess.
