Domestic violence cases going up due to lockdown. Couples are spending too much time together.

  • Thanks! Just ordered a couple of pairs.

Edit: Two pairs of gloves was $7.50 postage for me.

Those went quick… for the larger sizes

  • mostly small left, how can i find out if small fits?

    • +1

I'd suggest a small for females and young adults

  • I have smaller hands, hoping small fits me.

  • Thanks OP, picked up a couple!

Anyone have a good recommendation for some sort of boxing bag or stand that can be used for home workouts?

    • +3

Kmart has hanging bags for $40, they are apparently filled with cloth but feel more like foam to me, very soft, which might not be a bad thing if you just want a workout and less chance of hurting you hands/wrists. Otherwise I'd try gumtree.

If you have no place to hang a heavy bag or string a floor to ceiling then your only options are the ball on a spring stem or heavy bag with stand, both of which suck IMO.

I have a heavy bag, floor to ceiling and spring stem ball (mainly for my son to play on), if I could only choose one it would be the floor to ceiling, its good for cardio, movement and timing without injury although might have a bit more of a learning curve, YMMV.

      • Thanks for the detailed reply, very helpful! Will look into possible options.

  • Wow 10 mins from posting and all large gone :(

  • Ordered… not sure when will I use it ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

  • What's the one rule about Fight Club people?!

    • +2

You've already broken the rule by asking about it. :-(

      • +2

And you also broke the rule by acknowledging there is a rule.

  • Thanks for posting OP.

Now got to find a boxing bag to go with these mitts :)

  • What a bargain. Knocked me off my chair! Got seven.

    • Got seven.

Were u subject to heavy postage cost of $25?

I found 6 to be the sweet spot @ $15 postage. Works out to be $2.50 postage each mitt.

  • Great for the wife. Thanks, OP.

I'm sure she will appreciate the padding.

  • Now I got reason to punch someone or something? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Never boxed before too.

    • At least your punches would land before you even throw it.

  • I don't know if anyone would have any need for them but the boxing boots are $15 down from $90 too.

  • The kids have been punching on a bit, now I can just let them sort it out without concern :)

  • $5 boxing gloves. Do you value your hands at $5 because I doubt these offer any protection whatsoever.

    • I box, 5 times a week, well used to before covid anyway and the gel version Madison gloves are the ones my gym has for people without their own gloves. Nothing wrong with them at all. The main difference between cheap and expensive gloves is how long they last in my experience.

I've had various gloves over the years, from ABIA approved Adidas to the $300 Cleto Reyes I have currently, and to be honest 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them, let's face it, most of these will sit unused anyway. But yeah, buy some wraps if you are worried about your hands, these gloves should be fine though.
