  • Hey there, just wondering how that works? what do you get and what do you have to do?

  • Catchethon, or "Catch A Thon" as it was formally known, is a 1 day 24 hour sale, from mid-day to mid-day (however usually due to "popular demand", they will extend it for another day).

Basically you Daily Deals, a sister company of Catch of the Day, will list out many previous deals from CotD at similar price, so if you can buy them if you missed out previously.

I have only bought one thing from Daily Deals so far, and I may describe it as "cheap and nasty". No complain about the service though.

  • Just went there to take a look, and there are indeed lots of cheap deals. I don't really care about perfumes and sport socks, but here are two that I found to be exceptional value.

    • MTV DVD Recorder + 80GB Hard Disk $149 + $12 delivery — records TV programs into both DVD and internal hard disk. 80GB is a bit small, but I can imagine with a bit of tweak, you might be able to get a bigger HDD in there. Only 3 months warranty though.
    • Proview 22" LCD Monitor $349 + $25 delivery — even cheaper than MSY and you can pick it up if you are in Melbourne. However from this discussion thread on Whirlpool there seems to be backlit issues. Otherwise with 2x D-Sub, 1x DVI + HDCP compliant at this price, it's a bargain.
