  • Mine is also $700

  • I got a $700 offer also.

  • I got $400

    • I got $400 too

5% return - so I think worth it.

    • $400 too

Works fine - the only thing that sucks is they charge you for paying the account with BPay - so instead you need to use their payment facility which is sometimes down, or only allows one payment every 3-4 days.

      • Great thanks for your response. I am thinking to apply it so thought to ask the experts. :)

its free, use it mainly for purchases in foreign currencies. i contacted their customer service few times over the years, was quite happy with their resolution each time.

the surcharge for Bpay payment sucks.

      • Thanks mate. hmm looks like Bpay charge lots of money

        • its like 95c each time, that is $1.14 per year, it all adds up

      • Can i use this card in Bali to payments?

        • As long they accept credit card payments.

      Hey,

I got this card a couple of years ago ahead of a big overseas holiday and haven't looked back. Use it daily. Let me know if you have any specific questions about it.

      • @supersaverdude thanks mate for sure. I think they have a price drop policy as well?

        • They did for a while but I believe it's not available for new applicants anymore.

@ngengerous: Which is a shame as it's a good one price protection from any store (not just the one you bought from) for 6 months. There may be limitations on what stores - like ebay etc.

            • @wfdTamar: It definitely is excellent, even more so because it's 12 months for me, and it works for any non-perishable purchase.

              • +1

@ngengerous: Wasn't the old version 12 months but from the original store only, but they changed it to 6 months from any store?

                • +1

@wfdTamar: I believe mine is 12 month, and they've accepted claims from multiple stores.

          • @ngengerous: Thanks mate, I will try and see if I will get any update

    • They charge a transaction fee when make your monthly repayments

      • Pay your balance off before they generate your statement and you won't get charged.

Edit: I meant that in regards to the price protection fee.

        • I have a claim/issue raised with the ACCC (or some body like that) about this. 28 D claim if you pay in full, no premium. So you set up a direct debit to pay in full, but that doesn't work because they work out the premium on a different day to when the direct debit comes through. Add to that you can't Bpay without a fee, can never work out what your balance is going to be due to delays in processing, can't overpay (in their web site) if you happen to know what it's going to be. It's ridiculous.

Multiply that by everyone that it happens to and it's a nice earner for them.

I had 2 promotion before with 28 degrees, both of them need to chase up multiple time for the promotion credit.

    • Happened to me as well.

I truly believe that it is intentional

        • I agree with you

  • got the $700 offer so its like 3% credit, worse than ebay

mate, you have been using this card too much

      • I must be in the same boat - no offers for me either. I use my card all the time, but I’ve been getting heaps back with the price protection insurance so I’m not too fussed.

        • did you ever try to claim an iphone from it?

          • @UncleCheapSteam: Not yet, but I’ve claimed a MacBook Pro I got from JB when Wireless1 had a 15% off coupon on eBay

            • @shinkenred: whatabout the Merchandise Protection? you buy an iPhone, get damaged, they give you a new one?
              repeat every 2 years

"If you buy an item anywhere in the world for more than $10 with your Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard and within 12 months of its purchase the item is lost, stolen or damaged, we'll pay to your account, at our option, either:

              the original purchase price, or
the cost of repair or replacement.
This also applies to items bought for someone else as a gift."

              • @UncleCheapSteam: The merchandise protection isn’t as simple to claim as the price protection. They want a paper form filled out with a copy of the receipt. I’ve only had to do it once, and the claim got paid, but it’s more hassle. With the price protection, it’s an online form and you just entered the price paid and the lower price you found. They don’t usually ask for any proof, but I keep screenshots anyway.

Regarding phones, I’m sure they have ways to check if you’re constantly claiming for the same type of thing getting damaged though. When I did my damage claim, I had to call up Latitude and get my customer number off them (different from the 28 Degrees card number) so it stands to reason that they’ve got a file on each customer with all of their insurance claims listed.

  • Mine is also $700

My wife had a credit card with 28°
Extremely difficult company to deal with . Add extra charges and promised to reverse them and never did.
Not worth the $20 for the amount of aggravation that comes with it

  • I just bought a computer over $700 (The e595), but I don't think i received an offer anyway. Was it through email?

    • Yes.

Subject "Shop and you'll have a $20 credit in the bag*."
      From [email protected]

      • i don't think they trust me. Didn't pay off my credit card last month….

  • Didn’t get this one, it seems.
