Promotion Details

To receive a multibuy offer:
  • Add all products described in the promotional offer message to your Shopping Cart one of two ways:
    a. Via the Add to Cart button in the promotion description, OR
    b. Via the Add to Shopping Cart button on each respective product information page.

For example, if the promotion offers $5 off one item worth $10 when you also purchase two items worth $20 each, the $5 will be divided proportionately between the three items, so that the Multibuy item will appear with a $1 discount, and each of the two other items will appear with a $2 discount.
  • If you remove any of the participating promotion items from your Shopping Cart or violate any of the terms and conditions listed below, the promotion will be invalid, and the discount will be removed from the order.
  • If you cancel or return any of the items involved in the promotion, the discount previously applied to those items in the order will be subtracted from your refund.

For example, if the promotion applies to cookware offered by Amazon.com.au, the same cookware offered by other sellers on the Amazon.com.au website (e.g. Wayfair, etc.) do not qualify.
  • Unless the promotion indicates otherwise, it applies to the lowest priced qualifying item and may not be combined with other offers.
  • All qualifying and Best Value items must be purchased in one order and delivered to a single address.

  • Can this replace the wireless router from tpg for their nbn service?

    • +3

If you're on HFC, then yes. You won't need a modem, just a router.
I've set up an MW3 for someone like that.

      I love me tenda.
It has made my life complete…

      • Great to hear.

Looking to complete my life too.

Are each of the satellite units wired or not? Will it handle Netflix, plex, etc being beamed around the house?

        Thanks 🙏

        • Each unit has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports…

Obviously on the main one, one of the ports will be used as a wan port to connect to the NBN modem.

They should have no problem streaming, especially the MW6.

          • @jv: Thanks mate. So they need to be connected via Ethernet. That could be a problem

            • +1

              @Bellpop:

So they need to be connected via Ethernet.

              No

It allows you to connect devices without wifi to any of the units.
eg. I have an ATA connected to one of them to make VOIP calls. The ATA just has ethernet, it is not wireless, but now I can put it anywhere, as long as it's near a unit.

Only one of the units requires a physical connection to the NBN modem, so it needs to be connected near it. The others can go anywhere wirelessly…

Very easy to setup using the App.

Also, note that when I first set mine up, I had dns issues. These were resolved by changing mtu from 1480 to 1492 in the Tenda Nova settings.

@jv: Strange to see you complete something other than a sarcastic criticism…

                  @pdtmathieson:

                  other than a sarcastic criticism…

                  Gotcha !!!!!!!!!!!!

              • +1

@jv: Thanks for that info. I appreciate it.

  • Does not apply to orders placed with 1-Click.

    Why not?

    • not sure. I just copied that straight from their Ts&Cs

  • anyone got a spare? already have 2 and now just need one more…

    Pm me, thanks.

Buy a 3-pack, take 1 from it then resell the rest as 2-packs as new :)

      • Don't forget to make the whole amount tax deductible too.

  • I have NBN fixed wireless. Am I right to assume the NTD simply plugs into the WAN port on these and away I go?

    • Yep.

  • Need recommendations on how far/close to place them in a single story house.

    • I got one MW6 - 3pack set up at home and it claims will cover up to 500 square meters.

I have one upstair, one connected to my modem and the 3rd in my gardens.

Each are around 10 meters far from each other.

Working fine and never give me hard time :-)

    • works fairly well at home and i had it over a year now.

Says code is expired. Anyone else getting the same error ?

    hi guys,
Is the TENDAAU25 supposed to go to Gift Cards & Promotional Codes?
I tried that, but got an error message:
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    • I was just about to post the same comment. Can't get it to work either.

      • yeah looks like the deal is over. Its no longer saying 25% promotion .

        • So.. uhh.. did anyone actually get one?

          • +1

@JoelT: i was able to add the item in my cart and then add the coupon . Then i decided to think about it for a couple of mins. Finally decided to pull the trigger and then the coupon didn't work :(

          • @JoelT: Yeah, i got one myself and a friend here at work as well. man that was quick

  • Marking it as expired cause apparently they removed it about an hour after this post. Probably why the first bullet point was

    • The promotion is valid for a limited time only. Amazon reserves the right to cancel it at any time.
  • Damn, missed out :(

  • Dang its not working…

  • Guys, I bought the set of a two a while ago, and I can’t help but feel like they are quite slow. I specially when compared to my Netgear range extenders. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it to be expected?

    • read something about disabling your modem's (and/or other extenders) wifi and configuring the MW6 in bridge mode might help.
Or maybe you have a high end Netgear extenders that could be just better. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • Yep disable your existing wifi signal and only use the wifi on the Tenda routers.

You only use bridge mode on ADSL, FTTN and FTTB.

    • When you say slow, are you referring to download speed or just general snappiness of things loading etc?

I've 50mbit NBN and I get 40-45mbit download speeds over wifi with these…. although that's with Speedtest.net which is sometimes questionable.

I mentioned this in another post about this, but I've got this in a 3pack and one thing I've noticed is that it doesn't play nice with my Xiaomi/Yeelight bulbs, so keep that in mind if that's part of your use case.

There is a maintenance mode set on these (by default, I think) that involves each of the units to reboot every day and the bulbs don't reconnect, so they are disconnected and won't turn on via the app or any schedule you may have had.

I've re-enabled my router's wifi and connected them to that as a (messy) workaround.

You can turn off the scheduled maintenance mode but there may be a good reason why these are recommended to restart every day (ie. clearing cache etc).

Works great with all my other wifi devices, which include other Xiaomi products.

  • Can anyone comment about the MW3 range? It's going for $129…
    https://www.amazon.com.au/3PK-NOVA-MW3-Whole-Home/dp/B07DFQG…

Like obviously older model.. but still does mesh .. or is it better just to spend the extra $70 ?

    • I've been trying to determine the same. The MW3 3-packs have been as low as $85 recently https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/515266

My main concern is the lack of gigabit ethernet, which would create a huge bottleneck if you transfer a lot of files in the local network (assuming you're using wifi for this, or have all your traffic routed through the MW3). If you're solely using it to share NBN internet access, then it's probably not a problem.

Anyone else got any feedback on this?

    • They're $95 over at PCByte (https://www.pcbyte.com.au/store/product/tenda-nova-mw3-3-pac…)
They too are official reseller of Tenda in AU

If you have no need for a Gigabit Ethernet port (More than 100Mbps Internet plan and/or need for high-bandwidth intranetwork e.g. for NAS/Media server), then you could be fine with MW3. They are not as strong in terms of coverage but have essentially the same WIFI speeds.

There's also a new one MW5s which is in between the MW3 and MW6. See https://www.tendacn.com/au/product/MW5s.html

      Wifi speeds: MW3 = MW5s = MW6
      Coverage: MW3 (100sqm/node) = MW5s (100sqm/node) < MW6 (200sqm/node)
      Ethernet port speed: MW3 < MW5s = MW6
      MU-MIMO: MW3 (no), MW5s (yes), MW6 (yes)

MW5s are $179 for the 3 pack at Officeworks. Tenda Australia FB post dated 2-Feb-2020 says you get one free smart plug for free though does not say how to redeem it. See
      - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/tenda-nova…
      - https://www.facebook.com/Tenda.Aus/posts/593194858195457

      • Might as well pay the extra $20 and get the MW6 version :P

I'm currently stuck with what i should do though … if i get NBN then yeah these be worth it… if i get Optus5G i may not require it … (i was thinking bout putting the router in the roof in the middle of the house to get best coverage - well i hope this idea works)

        • having said that .. the roof probably gets way too hot for those devices to operate safely / within specifications … :/

          there goes that idea :(
