    • +2

That sounds like a Chaser skit if I've ever heard it.

I did not know I needed this.

I wonder if it can crush ice/frozen fruits? Or more for like mixing protein powder and water

    • +1

      Frozen, no problem.
ice, must be a small size.

      • +2

I got two of these last time.

Warning on it not to blend ice.

        • life hack, if you leave blend the rest of the ingredients first, then add in the ice…
the ice will melt in there soon enough :D :D

  • What elsw is on sale this specials buy?

  • +7

I have similar ebay versions look identical. They are a blender in terms of mixing protein shakes and powders. The motor and battery isn't powerful enough to cut and blend anything except banana or watermelon.

  • +6

    I use this:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Richards-Portable-Blender-Smoothie…

the richards blender is very, VERY handy. it CAN crush small ice cubes, but i have never added more than 4 cubes. I usually cut the fruit, e.g. watermelon, banana, orange, strawberry, into small cubes (~2cm) and then add all of them with ice and liquid (water, coconut water, etc) into the portable blender. The blend works like a charm! But keep in mind, it does NOT replace but complement the bigger and heavier desktop blender.

The Aldi one appears ugly, but it is much cheaper and its container is much larger. I may grab one for mixing protein powder.

    • I literally just bought a $20 one off ebay a few days ago thinking there was nothing more powerful. Now that I saw your link I'll just return that and buy the amazon one instead. Looking off reviews on youtube this seems a lot more powerful.

      • +1

You can get that exact one for like $28AUD FYI via Amazon. It's a generic Chinese blender and everyone sells them, they even use the same images:
        https://www.amazon.com/Portable-ARTSUN-Rechargeable-Personal…

        • There's a comment on the reviews about this one containing lead… Odd since it's BPA free. Not sure…

          • +1

@poxy001: Could be in the electronics somewhere (or some weird, exotic lead/lithium battery, but I doubt it), since it's a sealed unit it shouldn't ever be mixing with what you're drinking.

I doubt it's lead paint, anyway.

          • +1

@poxy001: Then they'll all contain lead (since it's the same product).

  • +6

Any portable blender is rubbish, can't even blend water and milk. So weak. So many reviews of different models on youtube that doesn't have the power to blend. Also I had one about 4 years ago, couldn't blend my protein powder with water.

  • +8

Why would you buy a portable blender? 😂😂 where are you gonna blend your stuff? On the bus? 😂

    • +2

It's for the discerning individual, looking to replace their taser.

    • im taking it camping

    • Never been camping huh?

    • For the time poor or frequent traveller - put frozen fruit in the blender and leave. Blend in transit (assuming you're in a car). Consume when ready.
Also good for offices that do not have a dedicated kitchen, but may have a fridge for milk, etc. If you have specific dietary requirements, this may help you keep to it.

    • Portable brain?

  • +3

Blending takes like 30 seconds.. If you have the time to pick out and cut the fruit and put it in the blender.. Then surely you can spare that 30 seconds to blend in a normal blender before walking out the door

    • +4

It’s the cleaning of a blender. Pass

    • +2

blended shakes go gluggy unless you drink them straight away. so there is some value in refeshing the blended drink. it does taste much better than even shaking vigorously makes it

    • Wow party pooper.

  • +3

I don't understand this product and people asking if it blends ice. If you are on the go and have ice with you wouldn't you just have blended everything with a normal blender before you left the house?

    • I'd assume blending the ice increases the surface area which causes it to melt/warm faster.

    • +1

Camping at a music festival, Tequila, ice and some lemon juice freshly blended into a frozen daiquiri <3

  • +1

Can't think of anywhere someone would use this except maybe camping?

  • This will be great for me. No more lugging an appliance on the bench or cleaning a big blender. Also no more friggin wires. I wish more kitchen appliances were smaller and wireless.

Might even buy another for blending my fruits and veggies for the compost.

    • +1

Now… Where did I leave that charger and cable…?

  • These are all over ebay ranging from $17-23

    • +1

But you can't use it for 60 days and return it on eBay.

    • +1

Yeah but then do you get the opportunity to walk through the infamous middle isle - pick it up - look at it - have your partner tell you you dont need it - and then proceed to purchase anyway??

  • +3

Will it blend? That is the question.

Why carry around a blender with all the ingredients waiting to be blended, when you could just blend it beforehand at home and use a vacuum flask?

  • I can see a use case for this:
Keeping it at work so you can have smoothies and make your co-workers jealous.

    • Or they laugh when it just makes a mess?

Or get your work to invest in a nurti blender and everyone that wants to use it buys a cup off you.

  • Wonder how many Watts it is?

  • What a gimmick?

  • Does it come with a free frogurt?

    • +1

Yes but the frogurt is cursed

      • That's bad.

        • but it comes with a free 60 Day Satisfaction Guarantee

  • These sold out lasttime very quick.

I found them useful on holidays for blending rice flakes and protein powder etc.

  • perfect for all them retro vinyl record buyers!
I keep using my upside down unit amongst digital music files…

Hahaha just here for the comments. Seems so unnecessary…..unless you want to annoy the rest of the passengers on the bus.
