  • I want my 1c back from the last deal

On the upside, this little device is awesome!

  • If I wanted a wifi extender device that provides ethernet output (for a more stable gaming connection) would you go for something like this or a straight up wifi extender? Ideally 100MBPS+. Less fussed about the VPN part.

    • +1

I'd go with mesh WiFi like Orbi, if you're dealing with a large-ish area.
I have the RBK50/RBS50 (IIRC) and they're great.

If that sort of thing is of interest and you have lots of newer devices, it may be worth waiting until the WiFi 6 versions come down in price a bit.

I have not had great experiences with old school WiFi extenders. My devices seem to cling onto the dying radio signal of the furthest router, rather than grab the healthier, nearer one.

  • Thanks. Recommendation for a smaller area for a study/spare room? The Orbi may be overkill for my needs.

  • Ooh no I missed out again. Was there a code?
