You should be ashamed of yourself Ozb ( Mods Scotty whoever ) not permitting this to stay up 2 days ago !

  • +5

I use to think OzB was the go to place to find all the latest Ebay Codes !

    • It still is, we’re looking at an eBay coupon code now

      • +4

I think he meant that ozbargain used to be the place to find bargains.

    Eligible eBay strikes again 😂😂

    • +7

The days of site wide sales are over
Just like the days of decent cashback and discount giftcards from international eBay deals

      • if only amazon would open up shop in AU right.

  • +3

eBay Plus is a bit of a scam. If you happen to sign up to the free trial don't forget to cancel, otherwise they will not cancel it for you!

    • +4

Exactly, I registered the ebay plus with the $50 GC offer on 10th, Dec 2019. I still have nothing. Called several times and no response, no update, no gift card. They even asked me to rise the case to ACCC or tribunal. What the fxxx?
Their suggested solution is to issue a voucher, but everyone knows that it is useless (with minimum spend, cannot combined with other promo). It is totally a scam. I refused it and waiting for their final response. I have no idea about how much does it cost for the tribunal and who should pay for it.

      • use ebay online chat support, tell them you spoke with a guy on phone and he promised to send you the card by xxth date but failed to do so.
The guy from chat will apologise and send you a compensation voucher, you will still get the gift card later.

signed up on 10th, Dec 2019. received a $voucher, still waiting for card.

        • I suspect if you accepted the voucher, then no gc will be issued. I did the online chat but they told me "$50 voucher instead", so I refused it.

          • @GiftCardHunter: here is the conversation history from the online chat session.

"To compensate with the waiting time, would you like if I issue a $50 in a form of eBay voucher.
Don't worry, you'll still receive the gift card"

        • +2

I think this is ebay's plan. Basically speaking, most of people will finaly "give up" after such a LONG TIME. So they successfully made a scam and fooled them to "join" the ebay plus. If they finally issue the gc to "the ramaining 20% people who still remember it", maybe it is still "legal"?
My friend also "joined" the ebay plus with the offer, but ebay told him the ad was "suspended" at that time and no GC will be issued, even if the ad was still showing. I think we should not believe ebay anymore except the "instant saving".

        • I signed up on 13 December and got my $50 Gift Card 5 days later.

I'm also getting the $5 codes each month, DOUBLE Bonus!

Haven't bought a single eBay Plus item yet though. (used the Gift Card on a standard item though)

          • @ESEMCE: $5 voucher requires $50 spend. They still win in the end.

          • @ESEMCE: The $5 code is a useless token as you have to spend a minimum $50 and only on EBay Plus items, diminishing discount if your item is over that amount. EBay regularly issue true 10-15% discount codes from time to time on the same items anyway.

    • +3

      That's like any trial though..

    • +1

That's how it is with all the subscription services. It's not their responsibility to cancel your own subscription.

  • +15

Eligible items strikes again. With no way to search this sale it's tedious at best trying to find a bargain. The 20% off selected sellers usually has way better deals.

    • +2

      20% = jacked by 18%

      • More like 25-30%

  • +3

I have over 30 items in my watch list and not a single item is eligible!

    • +2

Same. I’ll not renew it next time.

  • +5

    Not this crap again

  • +1

    No bargains listed.

    • -5

Click on the related button please.

  • +17

These vague 'eligible item' eBay sales should be banned from OzBargain.

    • +3

      I second that.

  • Time wasters .. :-( .. !!

  • -2

They should rename this site to OzWhingers..

  • +1

    Eligible items garbage again

  • +1

    Another garbage no deal.

  • +2

So how do you know what items are eligible?

    • you have to click on every item page and see if it says Save AU $50.00 on this item [ Show me how ].

      It's tedious.

      • Wtf, so no ability to search within the eligible items? eBay really making you work for your discount, lol.

        • As a wise man once said, anything that comes for free isn't worth having.

  • +1

    "Eligible" - yeah nah

  • I had more chance with OzBargain treasure hunt than this.

  • +1

Waste of time as most items these days (that I personally purchase) have inflated ebay pricing and have found it cheaper to go direct to stores. It's great as saves mucking about with crappy Ebay, their stupid stupid ebay plus crap and silly discount codes on expensive prices. Makes life easier :-)

  • +3

Have not used the free plus membership in 6 months, paid 30$ bucks the previous year and spent over $8000. In the last six months less than a hundred and most of that was $1 items from China. eBay is crap.

    • Ditto…….exactly the same myself. Its not that I am buying less, its just that I have found Ebay too expensive (incl silly discounts). Problem is that sellers have way over inflated their pricing and killed their market and most likely due to Ebays fees and conditions.
I suspect they suck in a lot of buyers who don't know any better and just happy to pay $xx.xx for convenience? Just not so sure most Ebay items belong in Ozbargains anymore as most are not and just more crappy useless discount codes!

  • -3

All these retail store closing recently probably due to eBay, Amazon and AliExpress cornering Aussie market. Yet All 3 are giving us less and less discount. They suck you in with huge discounts early on and when they have you by the balls, give you less and less. Meanwhile all 3 companies are breaking stock records.

Alibaba at all time high, 600$ billion marketcap
Amazon nearly at $1 trillion marketcap
    Ebay $30 billion marketcap

  • So many complaints… Deals are there if you look. For anyone looking for an iPhone 11 Pro Max, a small store seller I have been watching and bought a phone from, no price jack either (good price for a seldom discounted phone): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AU-STOCK-APPLE-IPHONE-11-PRO-MAX…
    A secondhand iMac https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-iMac-21-5-Late-2013-2-9GHz…

  • Anyone bought anything with this code??

I spent $1005 and got $100 discount. It seems that:
    - You need to be an eBay plus member
    - the seller has to have a eBay store
    - It has to have free shipping but it does NOT have to be an eBay plus item

What's everyone else's experience (for the items that qualifies for this discount)

    • Nope, I have seen non store sellers and some with additional postage that qualify for this code. It is based on sellers (store or private) rather than items and free postage.

      • Might just be my items only - What a pity!

        • Yes is does seem a bit random, I am still trying to figure out the commonality. For example, this seller here, although below 100% rating and charges postage, qualify for the code https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2017-13-I5-2-3…
One thing consistent is that none of the known grey import store sellers ever seem to qualify for this code or the 3%, 5%, 10% Eligible Items codes (e.g. T-Dimension2, Kacha, E-Finity, AC Electronic or their various EBay aliases)

  • So frustrating to find ‘eligible items’ in my watchlist.

    • struggling to find just one item worth at least (but not too much over) $8.52

  • -1

Another day, another garbage eBay code.

  • Cool, got $10 off an spontaneous order. Cheers OP.

  • I've had about 7 items in my extensive watch list be eligible for this code. They're all random stores and not the big ones too! eBay keeps emailing me about it.
