    Deja vu?

    • Yeah, I posted it a few days ago but was taken down as it was an "unobtainable deal".

      • I wish it wasn't taken down before because the item I bought was eligible. Lost a bargain there =/

Dumbest move I've seen on the site !

First time I PM Scotty to get him to get the mods / administrators in order .

      • +2

Because it was 10% off unknown items. Which translates to 10% off nothing, which is really not a deal until one can see whats actually discounted once the deal is live.

  • Definitely negligible.

    Negligible

  • PREPARE for what? Pricejacking? I'm preparing for a 20% store specific code.

Had my eyes on a 65" Q75 Samsung TV for a while waiting for a deal.
The Good Guys jacked the price to $2,595.00 and there not even eligible supplier.
While Appliance Central reduced there price $2,120.00 and are still eligible for the 10% discount. shame about the $120 delivery charge.

How the hell are you to know what to look out for?

    • I suggest going in store and asking for best price. I personally got the q75 65” down to $2050 ish recently. When mixing it with a second item and convoluting the price of both items in my mind I got the tv for $1900. I know the price wasn’t actually 1900 but me thinking I got it for this price makes me feel better.

    • Do you know what that means? 20% is coming soon and TGG will be in it!

  • +2

There is literally no bargains. Most brick and mortar shops will do a discount above 10%. Not to mention easier returns/warranty support.

    • +1

How do you go about asking for these discounts?

      • +5

How do you do good sir?
What discount can you offer me so I can exchange my AUD currency for your item?

  • I keep getting an error page when trying to use paypal as payment option when using this code.

    Anyone else?

I thought we got rid of this.

    PREPARE to be DISAPPOINTED

I d saved around 30 items in my shopping cart and none of them can be "Prepared" XD

  • +1

Prepare to spend hours of your time more like it

  • Yep, nothing to see here. Almost none of my watched items are eligible and the ones that are regularly have/had 20% off codes.

  • +5

As others have said, there aren't really any bargains and there is no search function. These sales are tedious.

eBay was actually taking more of my money when I would force myself to buy $30 worth of crap I didn't need to get the 5% off a single $10 item I wanted.

Now I know these useless eligible codes won't work so don't even bother buying the original $10 item half the time.

So therefore these codes that don't work, actually save me more money than the old codes that did work.

    Cheers eBay.

    • Yup bank balance has been looking healthier last 3 months or so, thanks eBay!

ebay has a problem when there's multiple 'eligible items' codes running at once. It can only display one code at a time in the listing. One code might be better than the other but you wouldn't know if it's eligible for both, and it doesn't always choose the cheapest one.

Sometimes it shows my $5 off voucher over the 10% off, and says I could save $5, when I could have saved even more but didn't know the item is eligible.

    In summary: ebay sucks now.

In summary: ebay sucks now. continues to suck

      FTFY

      • True, but they were better when they did regular 10/15% off sitewide deals without eligible items. Now they either do 'eligible' only or they do the tiered "$50 off $500 spend" discount or worse, both in one. It's a lot more frustrating to shop with them now, because you can't just filter out ineligible items. And even if you could, you'd still need to check if there was a non eligible listing with a better price than your eligible one after the discount.

Before, you could just do a quick search and if there was nothing good, you would know straight away and can go do something else.

  • eBay is helping me save money.

None of my stuff works… No Deal

    • saving you money, but wasting your time.

Millions of items nobody wants to buy

  • +10

The sooner this site bans these useless eBay 'eligible items' deals the better.

  • Don’t even bother to search eBay anymore hen I am googling for prices . Site is a waste of time.

  • 🥱

  • Nope

  • Unfortunately doesn't work for the items I'm interested in.

  • This code can't be applied to your order.

Tried to buy a watch box. Nope.

  • Trying to purchase a TV and receiving error at checkout "This code can't be applied to your order."

  • Was gonna post this as a deal but limited quantity: LG B9 55" for $1612.80 + Delivery OR pick-up @ Videopro eBay
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-55-OLED55B9PTA-OLED-Smart-TV-…

  • Everything I want this measly 10% off of, isn't even 'eligible'.

How many negs does it take to make these useless posts disappear?

    • +1

you're negging the wrong people. It's ebay you should be directing your anger at. He's just the messenger.

ebay doesn't even know you're mad. They will continue doing these 'eligible' deals.

      • eBay keeps doing it because people keep posting them on Ozbargain and giving them free advertising.

Any deal for eligible items that cannot be searched is not a deal any more than going into a physical store and being told they have some 'eligible items' on sale, but you have to put them into your cart one by one to find out if they're eligible or not.

        • There are other people who made use of this 10% code.
For those who cannot find what they wanted, how are they able to vent their anger if these posts don't exist? :-p

  • Looks like a glitch in the system.

If you're logged out and the listing shows "Take AU $xxx.xx off this item [Show me how]", hover your mouse over "[Show me how]" to see what code is available.

Login to your account and check if "Take AU $xxx.xx off this item [Show me how]" disappears.

Contact ebay live support and they'll try to fix it or they'll provide a coupon to use in lieu of the discount code.

  • Thanks OP!

  • it looks like eBay have ended it
