keep negging folks.
should I want to buy a nespresso type machine then would i consider the more expensive machine or the less expensive machine?
hhhhmmmmmmmmm. ozbargain answer - the less expensive one. unless reviews/experience demonstrate that it is crap and not worth it.
people negging because I referred to Kogan? didn't see to many negs for the $9 HD set top boxes - except from those who missed out.
So where is a good place/online store to pick up low priced capsules compatible with this machine?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nespresso
"The concept (machine, capsule, service) is protected by 70 patents which protects Nespresso's ownership of the concept until the patents expire.[14][15] This contrasts with some other prepackaged coffee preparation systems. This has led to comparisons of Nespresso with printer manufacturers that tried to hinder the sale of generic ink cartridges.[11] However, neither the machine nor the capsules can be considered generic until the patents expire.
Nespresso's patents will begin to expire in 2012,[16] eventually allowing competitors to offer capsules and machines compatible with the Nespresso system. Nestlé is working on ways to prevent competitors from doing this.[11]
An ex-manager at Nespresso has started a rival firm, Ethical Coffee (ECC), to make pods for the Nespresso machine.[17]
Other competitors include a Swiss start-up (Nexpod.ch) which is offering Nespresso-compatible empty capsules which can be filled with the coffee (or tea) by the buyer, Caps-cup from Hong Kong that provide compatible capsules in bulk and a South African company which sells Nespresso-compatible capsules under the brand name Café-Caps.
In mid-July 2010, Sara Lee in France, which makes coffee under the "Maison de Café" brand, launched L'OR EspressO which uses a plastic capsule that fits both espresso machines sold by Sara Lee and the Nespresso system. In August 2010, it is reported that, according to Sara Lee, more than 30 million capsules of L'Or are sold since launch. Nestlé has sued Sara Lee, accusing the latter of contravening its patents.[11][18] In December, Sara Lee announced that they would start selling their capsules in the US under the Douwe Egberts name.[19]"
great price. i should just note that i got this machine about 6 months ago when David Jones had a two week introductory price of 319 and i got the $50 on top. so $269 total.
i got mine bargained to $300 no questions at bing lee,
add the $50 cashback on that and you get it for $250,
if you have the amex cashback, thats another $50 off so you only pay $200 for it :D
I asked about that at Bing Lee (Belconnen, ACT) after seeing your post in the other thread. Girl claimed that was below cost, and wouldn't do it. So I got the Essenza for $289 instead (price match with Good Guys around the corner, who had it on 'manager's special')
Aus appliances are cheaper :P

less 50 cashback makes it $269 and they do free shipping :)
Sorry, just got mine for a few bucks less at The Good Guys Nunawading HOMEHQ in VIC. They just had their CAFE thingy sale (coffee related product sales).
Same unit advertised for $349, but got it down to $330 (didn't actually bargain that hard actually, but got the receipt if anyone wants it). So extra $50 cash back , brought it to $280.
Nice coffee though :)
As for the Kogan machines that I've been hearing about ppl mentioning.. Its KOGAN…Think of TV Kogan vs. Sammy/Sony/etc..
http://www.eljo.com.au/Delonghi_EN125SPLUS_Coffee_Machine_p/…
Could/should have price matched Eljo @ $319 as they offer pick up in Richmond so all retailers should price match in VIC at least! :(
Good Guys in O'Connor WA offered it to me for $325 last month. I got it fo $279 from another retailer through my union discount.
This bundle does include the Pixie (coffee maker) and Aeroccino (milk frother) together right? The picture seems to only display the Pixie…
Yes, it's a separate unit.
Get the Citiz w/milk… auto. :-)
That's great price,
I read that Pixie is made in Switzerland, whereas Citiz is made in China now.
The Citiz is selling for $399 at Bing Lee and Hardly Normal said same yesterday when I popped in.
$50 cashback from Nespresso and $50 from Amex makes it $299 : )
I think its better unit because the aeroccino is not a separate unit…..saves me a powerpoint!

And heres the pixie….cheaper at Bing Lee by a few bucks

david jones accepted a price-match for $319 with the a printout of the www.aus-appliance.com.au page…
Great - thanks for letting us know this info. This is what makes OzB great!
Not a bargain, I have a $30 pour over and $30+ a kilo fresh beans from a local roaster which I grind on demand.
end smart arse comment
I went to Myer centre in Brisbane and they told me they don't do the proce matching so I bought one in David Jones.
Crap coffee. I mean it makes decent coffee for human consumption but not for enjoyment. I'd rather a syphon or pour-over any day. Takes some time and manual fiddling but worth every drop of it.
Let me guess. Apple TV Vs WD TV all over again.
Has the sale ended?
Kogan have a nespresso compatible mini machine for $145.80
http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/ez-press-coffee-machine-nespres…
can't see any reviews of it but comparible specs and at half the price….
The prices for the Nespresso Pixie and Aeroccino are really good otherwise.
