Browsing through '1/2 price specials', Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream 457ml $2.50 from $11.50

After my weekly shop, I searched here and found that it was $4 on the 10/1/20.

Must be trying to clear the stock!

      • Ex night club in in Melb. Aka our train network.

  • Ordered 4 click and collect last night, picked them up this morning. Couldn't find them in the store (did find the Clearance tag) but website said they were in stock so must be out the back.
    Thanks OP!

  • Just picked up 8 from the Warwick store perth. Best vanilla ice cream I've tasted.

  • i placed the order yesterday, and it was in stock in their web.

and today just received a call, said no more stock and cancelled my order :(

    • Place the order again and change the pick up date to next week.

    • Get rain checks. Just speak to he managed and you get them for 31 days

Local woolies had heaps of stock, they are covered in ice though which might explain the price however the inside is uncomprimised

  • Yeah all normal price in Malvern, Vic (no Vanilla actually).

(I probably needed the exercise anyway).

Haagen is Overated ….. IMHO 😏
$11.50 RRP is ridiculous price for 457ml.
$2.50 is what it should be !

"Too late, too late" will be the cry when OzBargainers have long had their buy.

…im convinced a true ozbargainers diet consists of at least 50% ice cream for all nutritional needs

It appears journo's are reporting OzBargain deals more often now.. and profiting off it!

      • They've made money💰 from your popular post and our interest & comments! (I'd stocked up @$4😢)

Ah journalists - using others for "news" stories. That's what they've always done. And don't give credit to sources!

I've called them vultures & walked out on an interview long ago.

(I've also run a popular uni student newspaper that needed interesting stories & advertising to operate. There are always conflicts.)

But now with a quick look online you've written your piece. Don't have to leave your desk, or even go into work. All at no cost.

        Just check OzBargain front page!

So good for CLICKS, new subscriptions, & promote Woolies (possible advertising $)!

Some of the links in this article may return revenue to Yahoo Finance Australia.
The line between news & advertising is very blurred.

It's what happens more with massive cutbacks & extra work for each to do to keep their job!

Could just outsource the work to Ozbargainers😉

@franco cozzo: I can see you on the street corner with a cardboard sign "Will work for (Häagen-Dazs) ice cream"😉

@INFIDEL: …actually ive had no ice cream all of january.(getting some fitness back)
i should really avoid even looking at these deals all together!

@franco cozzo: Haven't had ice cream in months.
I bought 5 - to slowly eat over a month during the heat.
Now not interested in ice cream after eating 4 this week. I can taste it in my mouth just thinking about it!

                Keep fit!

@INFIDEL: After I purchased the ice cream along with my normal groceries and organized next day delivery, I posted this deal.

Rookie mistake, they sold out before my delivery! No ice cream for me, but I'm glad others got the bargain. :)

@rompastompa: I'm Sorry - I just had such a good long laugh. Posting such a popular Deal, but missing out yourself - classic!

My usual warning is don't order for delivery, but run as fast as you can to the nearest store showing stock!

I posted a small warning about that issue - in this Deal, along with things I've learnt in Woolies Deals. But too late for you😢

After a 24km round trip, I bought the last 5 at closest store in my area @$4, the night before you posted. They had to search the freezer out back to find those.

                    I am sorry for you!
I think we all feel sorry for you!
                    But a great Deal👍 Thanks!

  • None of the stores seem to be keeping it any more though I do have a rain-check.

    • Raincheck on clearance line is useless!

I've been caught before with a raincheck for a different product. Only got cryptic response at service counter that "product is not registered to this store". That is it was not stocked there. But could not answer to where it was stocked. No one would say Woolworths no longer stocked it - just "try another store"!

Finally (after asking at many stores) convinced one to swap for different flavour - but that was originally at same price in catalogue. Had to show their catalogue. That won't work in this case.

FML - I told my parents to get in on this deal, told them there mightn't be a ticket up but to check the price when it scans, and it applies only to vanilla flavour (the last one I told them several times). So what do they do? Get a tub of cookies and cream and check the docket after going home (AND opening it)… So now they're rationing it off one scoop each, each time they have some. Completely defeated the purpose, but at least they enjoy the quality icecream?
