  • when I log into my account it shows 8.85 each

    • my local did not have Vanilla, no tag even

      • It was a clearance line. Most was cleared out in previous $4 deal.

Did you ask - staff found stock for me. No tag on shelf so night fill didn't know where to put it. So sat in freezer out back.

  • Unavailable now :/

  • Can they do rainchecks on these?

    • +1

      If it's raining

  • Went to my local that has stock but was full price.

    • +5

Did you try scanning it at the self serve checkouts to confirm?

      • +2

^ This. Last weekend my store was showing full price without any special sticker but when i scanned it came up as $4. I actually was happy that the store did not put any promo marking on the fridge otherwise i probably would not got an stock by the time i got there.

        • +1
No sticker at Bundoora VIC, however scanned for $4.

  • Lol can I return the ones I got last week AHHA

    • which store?

      • Kingsgrove NSW

        • Beat me to it!! Out of stock now. I had to get it from marrickville lol

  • That's the price it should be all the time. The mark up on ice cream must be insane.

    • +9

I didnt neg you but most of what is sold in Aus is not Ice Cream. Read the packaging youll see half or more dont say Ice Cream anymore, they cant legally. This one is Ice Cream. Still over priced I agree at $11 but the gap isnt quite what it seems.

  • +2

Man, why not strawberry flavour :(

  • +1

Is it just me or is haagen dazs not what it used to be?

I had a Salted Caramel Stick recently. I'm not a fussy eater at all, but this thing actually tasted bad. So bad that I couldn't even get through half, and I chucked the remainder of the 3-pack.

Never one to quit so easily, I tried one of their other sticks - mango I think? It was barely acceptable, but still had this whole chemical/cheap taste to it. The taste reminded me of ye olde days of shitty homebrand products that you only bought if you really couldn't afford the brands.

The difference being, this haagen dazs stuff is not at all cheap. I'm going to avoid the brand unless someone can personally vouch for a particular variant.

    • +1

I've had the Brownie Macchiato, Cookie Dough Choc Chip and Chocolate Frappe and thought they were all really really good. Expensive though so I'll only ever buy when on sale.

      • are they all tub flavours? maybe it's just the sticks I should avoid

        • I think the tubs bring out the flavours and lot better than the sticks.

    • I agree. i'm not big on ice cream but I wasn't impressed at the vanilla. i much prefer the aussie brands nowadays if i were to eat ice cream from a tub.

      • The pessimist in me thinks aussies have become accustomed to the price, taste and texture of icecream made with gums etc

        • what are 'gums'?

This is the reported ingredient list for the gawdawful salted caramel sticks:

Caramel ice creamwith Belgian chocolate (22%), salted caramel swirl (8%) and salted caramel brittle (7%).

Ingredients: Caramel ice cream (fresh cream(24%), condensed skim milk, sugar, egg yolk, dried glucose syrup, condensed whole milk, glucose syrup, salt, natural vanilla flavour), Belgian chocolate (cocoa butter, cocoa mass, sugar, butter oil, whole milk powder, coconut oil, skim milk powder, emulsifier (soy lecithin), natural vanilla flavour), salted caramel swirl (sugar, condensed skim milk, glucose syrup, butter, salt, gelling agent (pectin), natural vanilla flavour), salted caramel brittle (sugar, butter, coconut oil, glucose syrup, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), salt).

          • @andresampras: Vanilla is a simpler comparison as the salted caramel has various components in it such as chocolate, brittle and swirl of different textures.

            Connoisseur vanilla:
Cream (36%), Skim Milk Concentrate, Water, Sugar, Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Dextrose Monohydrate, Flavour, Vegetable Origin Emulsifier [471 (Soy)], Vegetable Gum (410), Colours (160b).

            Haagen dazs vanilla:
Fresh Cream (39%), Condensed Skimmed Milk, Sugar, Egg Yolk, Vanilla Extract

Locust bean gum (LBG, also known as carob gum, carob bean gum, carobin, 410) is a galactomannan vegetablegum extracted from the seeds of the carob tree and used as a thickening agent (gelling agent) in food technology.

Needn't be a concern for healthy people (until they arent) but I take great pleasure avoiding these thing sand finding unadulterated products, even when it costs a premium.

        Connoisseur still goat.

        • Sarah Lee > connoisseur

          But Haagen beats them both.

    • Sticks and tubes still good for me. I've once had bad sticks due to what I assume was melting in transport

  • Oh there's going to be no stock now at all near me if only 1/5 had stock locally last time.

    Great price though.

  • +2

+1 for Murray St Colac, Bulla - rather give my money/vote to an Aussie Business :)

  • -2

no stock anywhere around perth :(

    • Warwick and Woodvale have stock.

  • Showing up $2.50 for me.

  • Still showing as $2.50 for me in WA. Also says they're in stock at my local (Woodvale).

If they're full price in store, will they match their online price?

  • -8

    Full price at Hawthorn East

  • Available @ $2.50 for delivery ($13 delivery fee), but not for click and collect. :(

    • -1

Ice cream delivered? Wouldn't the ice cream melt by the time it arrived?

      • Delivery trucks are refrigerated.

      • +4

how do you think the ice cream gets to woolworths in the first place? refrigerated trucks.

        • -1

What if no one is on site to collect it? Better not get sent to LPO.

Anyway, delivery cost kills the deal.

  • Ordered 10 for pickup not sure will they honor.

  • The website is saying that it is in stock at my local stores, I've got the wife on to buying some.

  • shows unavailable when opened woolworth online…: (

  • +1

Häagen-Dazs was regular price at Woolworths Rundle Mall.

  • Got 5 hidden at back of freezer covered in ice

  • +1

Popped all the way down to Seaford Meadows in SA and there is plenty there. Go get em! No price sticker on the shelf either. They scan at $2.50

  • Purchased catalogue specials powerball tabs36 plus half a dozen Häa's to save $70 69%. Will see if orders like these can be proactively allocated. A credit to online staff if the indicated bargain 'Available' can be a true not false flag in tricky instances.

    • Cnc method pans out as sweetly, in the end of stock-clearance triggered scavenging where Vanilla cleared out ahead, as anticipated. Scored 1 of each flavour 'instead,' the highest 36%(strawberry) of a 30%'s-range creaminess/$25L lineup pleasantly fresh til Dec.

    • +1

      Wouldn't let me order 36 only 10 of Häagen-Dazs .

I want to use that code to save $15 on $120 spend .

  • None near Fitzroy.

  • Found 3 at butler hidden in another freezer away from where they normally are.

    • Probably one of the 11 that voted yes :D

      • Definitely someone hid them as they where at the other end of the freezers

  • Just went thru Woodvale, there's a "$2.50 Clearance" tag for them but couldn't find any stock in the floor freezers.

  • Cnc Mirrabooka WA shows stock and $2.50 online but none in store.
They didn’t even have a label saying vanilla was an option and the rest of the flavours were full price.
Was a disappointing drive to the shop

    • +1

Did you ask. At another store, staff found stock for me from freezer out back.

Again no label for Vanilla on shelf. Guess night fill staff didn't know where to restock it in freezer shelf & gave up.

But 24 hrs later, system shows still available after I bought remaining 5!

      • Damn, might have to try my luck again tomorrow!
        Good suggestion!

        • Give the store a call first to check stock actually exits! Good luck👍

          Other tips for shopping @Woolies…

I check low stock items on shelf first & ask staff if none available - before doing my other shopping. That way I don't stand around waiting while staff search for stock. And thank the staff!
(Current offer for me is 10k bonus pts for 4 x $50 weekly spends. So want to just spend $50 each time.)

          Stock systems are rarely accurate!
I ring my local store to check stock level of that & other stores on their system. I then ring closest store with plenty of stock & get them to check for stock. Staff have put aside other stock for me to collect at service counter. Good for non refrigerated lines. Best done at quiet times for stores.

Placing online orders for low stock items may be a waste of time. Packers will remove from shelf later than if you go to store. Others may buy before packers get there.

  • No Häagen-Dazs Vanilla in my local Woolies (Flushcombe Rd Prospect) but there were a LOT of the Bulla Murrays and Baileys Original 500ml were also on sale at $2.50! Got one of each. For some reason I can't find the Baileys on the Woolies site.
    Edit: Proof

  • No stock at my local either, but I was able to get a raincheck at the front counter for 4 tubs. Hopefully will be able to get them soon when they're in stock!

  • Got the last 2 in Sunshine (Vic), scanned at $2.50 each. Had to dig down the back of some Ben & Jerry's so this flavour may be a deleted line.

  • Trying the Murray St one now.. I understand why it's on sale now

    • No good? Nearly took the gamble after I couldn't find Haagen stock. Glad I didn't by the sounds…

      • Was like eating frozen milk

        • You must have got one that was thawed and refrozen? I bought one for my wife and it was probably the softest tubbed ice cream I have seen.

  • +1

I can confirm that you can eat a whole tub in one sitting.

It’s the best vanilla ice cream I’ve ever tasted.

    • Agreed.

  • -3

This Vanilla flavour is on clearance because it is less than a week from expiration date. That seems to be the case with Woolies when ice cream are on clearance.

    • +2

I bought some Haagen Dazs vanilla today from my local Woolies (in Toowoomba) and is best before November 2020.

  • Picked up the Bulla Murray St but just read it has carrageenan in it. Sigh.

  • +1

connoisseur Vanila have better taste and creamier texture

  • Bought last of stock at store last night @$4ea. (Capalaba Park, QLD)

Staff took ages to find them. No space in freezer for these with no sign on shelf for Vanilla. Last 5 were in freezer out back.

24 hrs later - store still shows stock available. But there is none.

    • Same in camp hill but manly west store has the clearance tag and 4 more left in the freezer. I just got 3 for pick up and 2 more in store :p

      • Found Camp Hill store can be good when other stores run out.
Coorparoo & Camp Hill were only stores in area with stock showing when previous Deal posted. Ran out quickly.

  • Fun fact: Häagen-Dazs isn't a real word or name.. It is made up to make it sound Danish

    • +1

      So it's a name?

    • Fun fact: toobzy isn't a real word or name.. It is made up to make it sound…?

  • NSW Marrickville metro still has stock!!

    • They're out.

They still have 31 tubs of the Bulla Murray St when I left.

  • -2

    meh…its just ice cream.

  • Randwick is only honouring them at 8.85 in store, even though the special tag for 8.85 isn't up. Manager explained that they were being converted into a Metro so I suspect this is why it's going out the door. You'll need to buy in bulk online for this price. Coogee, Surry Hills and Rosehill all still have them.

    • What's a Metro

      • Smaller Woolies with smaller range

        • +2

With higher price tags. Usually located in and around business districts.
