No I disagree. I am a barista and work at 2 places. You have no idea how difficult to satisfy parents/kids by making babychino while very busy mate. If I am taking the order,I always tell them that it’s a waste of money and time. There is only froth of the milk. If anyone is reading this, please do not buy your kids babychinos. Instead, put that money in a box or a bank account for your kids future.

I just go to Beechworth and get them free !!!
As a parent a disagree. I'm guessing you've never had to look after rugrats whilst trying to enjoy a coffee
Instead, put that money in a box or a bank account for your kids future.
That's good advice for all your customers.
lol savage
Yeh.. No idea what all the parents did before babychinos were even a thing.
@thargelios: I don’t even know what a babychino is…
Edit-
Babyccino is simply warm milk with cinnamon or cocoa powder, without coffee. And it's sugar free! Kids are delighted to have their own drink while parents can sip their coffees at ease.
https://www.baristainstitute.com/recipes/babyccino@mapax: Not quite. Its the warm milk froth with choc powder (like Quick/milo/Drinking choc) sprinkled on top, and usually marshmellow on top/on the side.
I make them for the kids & their mates at home.
- Put a cup of milk in the microwave for 30 seconds
- Poured into a coffee plunger / French press
- Plunge rapidly for 15 to 20 seconds until it's really fluffy
- Pour into several cups
- Liberally sprinkle Cadbury drinking chocolate
- Put a marshmellow on top
- Served with a the spoon
Enjoy 5mins of silence/or praise from their mates.
@[Deactivated]: Ha, I had assumed it was frothed and didn’t even notice they failed to mention that.
Cafes can charge whatever they want to.
It is up to the customer to make the decision to purchase or not, or go to a competitor.Cafes can charge whatever they want to.
Not in North Korea….
The Kim's are watching you mate. I'd avoid trips to Malaysia if i was you.

Pretty sure they are subsidised by the ridiculously expensive prices at Beechworth Bakery…
They used to be good value decades ago when they were only in Beechworth, but now that they've franchised, the quality has dropped and the prices skyrocketed…
Most likely; there are many ways to pay wages, cover expenses and make a profit while still pandering to customer demands.
My friend in Healesville says none of the locals go there
I went to the Healesville Bakery and (that was the store I saw the deal at) it was packed so either your friend was wrong or there are a lot of tourists in the area.
Yeah she said it's always packed with tourists but the locals go to Wild Grains. Typical country town thing to say though.
@King Steuart: The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamy wasn’t bad either ;)
Agree. Beechworth Bakery have done a great job at marketing themselves, but they aren't any super special, and even 10 years ago I never thought their food was worth the 10-20 minute lines you'd get on the weekends.
Should be free at all cafes with purchase of a coffee. Ridiculous that some cafes think they can charge as much as $2-3 for one
