10% hike over last years prices, after they've been ramping it up for years (2012 was $29, even for the middle weekend, and included access to Margaret Court which you no longer get), plus they canned night passes which killed the after work relaxing for a few bucks.

Unless you really want to see some late 90's/early 2000's bands I don't get the point of a ground pass anymore. You don't see any decent live tennis, you just get to watch it on a screen and wait in line 20 minutes for an overpriced heineken.

Not to crap on the deal, it's great. Lower than last year's ground pass price.

Loads of decent tennis on a ground pass. I saw the Murray/Bautista Agut match which was supposed to be his last game. Injured and facing retirement, he came back from 2 sets behind to ultimately lose in 5 sets however Bautista Agut is a great player. Saw Tsitsipas who made it to semi-finals(now ranked 6) but will be a top 4 player in the future + Monfils who is always entertaining.

10% hike over last years prices

Ground passes were $51.70 last year with fees. Ticketek added fees on to ticket prices whereas Ticketmaster took over and don't add additional fees. It's getting more expensive however you're getting usually at least 12 hours of tennis for that price.

      • Ah, didn't realise there was a fee change, thanks. Still, after the $9 hike last year they seriously didn't need another price increase, even if it is just a couple of bucks.

Good point on the ground pass games, although I was annoyed to see they're starting to do reserve tickets (which you pay for) as well in Melbourne Arena. Not a huge area mind you and it might actually be an error, it's in the FAQ but I can't see where to buy those tickets.

    • canning the night pass is stupid.
ramping up the price of middle weekend is stupid
the 3 day ground pass has always been a considerable discount too ($120 ish), but now $150

  • Thanks Neil. It's just been getting more expensive every year - particular for Rod Laver tickets. I wasn't going to go as a result but might reconsider.

  • I'm old enuff to remember when a ground pass cost $10. It may have even been as low as $5 the first year at Melbourne Park?
For $10 you had access to every court except RLA.

    • Prize money has changed too..

It is a Chinese website, Chinese tourists normally pay cheaper tickets price than Australian local tourists.

The stadium tickets don’t seem to allow you to select a seat, only ticket classes, can anyone advise otherwise?

  • Site is selling tickets for $62 on the 25th

  • I presume day 1 will be hectic, while day 14 will be a ghost town. If I want to view the matches with fewer crowds, would day 5/6 be ideal?

It's getting busier and busier every year however there is a whole section between Rod Laver and Hisense (or whatever its called) where they have music, food, screens etc which helps with thinning out the crowds on the courts. There are matches on about 20+ courts at a time. I've never had an issue finding a spot to watch a match unless it's an Aussie and even then if you just wait long enough it should be fine. I would never go on a ground pass on the weekend as that is just an insane amount of people.

Days 1 and 2 have the most amount of single matches played on the outdoor courts. Days 5 and 6 will have more a mix of singles, doubles, legends which is fine if you like that. I don't like doubles so days 1 and 2 are my preferred days to go.

  • been waiting over an hour for my ground pass ticket - anyone else had this delay ?

    • Not in SPAM?

      • nope nor on my trip.com app - but it does say "will be delivered prior to JAN 20"

        • Tickets received? Unsure if it's worth it to save 10% at the moment

  • Have people used trip.com in the past for events like these? Strange that you can't select seating (or does it tell you only after purchase?)

  • Doesn’t seem to be working anymore
