Harvey Norman have gone early with Boxing Day. I'm sure other retailers won't hesitate to price match.

it's rougly $300..It was selling for $2295 a few days ago..that's a decent price for this unit but I'd like to see it go even lower..
Why lower?
Apart from everyone loves cheaper.
Answer: Schmucks just expecting everything to be $5, or whine.
Ticket prices in JB and HN etc were $2500 or over for quite some time.
Samsung x95g?
no, the only similarity is the 'tv' part :P
Itzasony
There is no Sony 75" at Aldi for $1,000.
Me: I am looking for a good deal for a 2019 Tesla Model 3
You: I found a $1000 car for you at gumtree
What’s the usual price?
It's been this price before, is it really worth the ~$800 over the 8000g (or ~$700 over the 8500g)?
Full array panel vs edge lit is fairly obvious side by side
I'll make sure I don't have them both in my lounge.
Depends on it's use.
For me if you're buying for a theatre go the x95g. If the TV is going to sit next to the bar for watching sports the 8000g.
YMMV kind of what you're doing with it. A room with a lot of light for less 'serious' viewing wouldn't warrant the nicer panel maybe.
Ah.. yes, it's better in every single way except for viewing angles.
Better colour coverage.
Better response time.
Better motion interpolation
Has real HDR including Dolby Vision support.
2-3x brighter, with actual full array dimming
and 5x the contrast.Even the viewing angles, yes the brightness/colour will wash out from the side, but given it's so much brighter, it will mitigate a lot of that.
I'll say it's even more than $700 better than the 800g.
8000g/8500g is thinner and lighter, so might be better for mounting to a wall.
Where can I find 65 inch 8500g for `$1300?
It is..It the top of the line when it comes to LEDs from Sony with a fast X1 processor, bright VA panel, 200 refresh rate, great motion handling..It's not an OLED so wouldn't have the same blacks, wide viewing angles, no HDMI 2.1 etc etc.. So def. worth the price if it's around the 1600-1700 mark..I wouldn't pay $2000 for this though..
65" version is not a VA panel
what is a VA panel? And what does it have if not in the 65" version?
@SaberX: My mistake. They are all VA panels but 65" hasn't got X-Wide angle which 75"/85" have.
I've never seen it this low?
All 3 deals more expensive than this but yes, pretty close
Mine sits on the floor
where is the 8000g for 1200??
None now, but if you search it's been that a few times.
Meh. I'd get the Hisense R8 for $1495 and save yourself some coin.
You can get it for $1,270 + delivery
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hisense-65-65R8-Ultra-HD-Smart-T…
R8 is not back-lit
Depends. I have the 65R8 and overall pretty happy with it, however you can see it was built to a certain price point - no back-lighting, no cable management, flimsy plastics/panels, GUI & apps not the greatest etc. I'll probably use for a year or two then upgrade to a >75" of whatever is the best tech then.
I'm yet to see a smart TV with a GUI as tidy as a $50 kodi box. Blows my mind.

Could try price match direct from Sony for free shippingThat's a better deal if Sony price matches + stack with Amex offer of spend $600 or more get $100 back.
Need the sale for the 75”
Will be $1,973 at JB.
i think you can do better than that boss
to what?
Unless i was watching in direct sunlight an awful lot, i couldn't see myself spending ~$2k for a 65" LCD at this point when the B9 OLED has been under $2400 already.
problem with oled is burn in. i cant imagine spending over 2-2.8k on a tv that gets screen burn after 500hrs of use
I guess it depends what you're doing on it. Burn in was the buzzword against Plasma too, and my 2011 Panasonic Plasma still has absolutely none now, hell the Pioneer plasma i had from 2002 to 2006 only ever suffered temporary image retention too.
Problem is with LCD you are forgoing picture quality and ability. So either you use an OLED normally and never get burn in, or you get a greatly lower range picture LCD and not worry about burn in.
Why not SAVE $300 and Buy 75" Samsung Series 7 RU7100 4K instead of 65" Sony
$1,645 - Samsung 75" Series 7 RU7100 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TV UA75RU7100WXXY

same reason people buy an S class over a C class, if you have to ask you should go buy a 500 dollar kogan tv
Agreed but if you need real good quality need to go for OLED
LG 65" B9 OLED TV $2396

Great deal managed to price match to Sony for same price $1985. But I had $500 gift card from the Telstra deal earlier this year to JB, plus $100 Westfield gift card from work… So went to Westfield JB. Price matched to Harvey Norman. Then cos I had the price match from Sony, and they offer free shipping, saved $59 in shipping price matching to Sony's offer. And got to use my gift cards. Top of the line tv for $1385. Booyeah.
(If I didn't have my gift cards would've gotten the Sony deal and stacked the spend $600 get $100 back instead)
There's only 1 more of these in stock in Westfield Sydney JB btw. They said they'll drop the price by $5 from the Harvey Norman deal but they won't have the stock by boxing Day.
Thanks again op!
Good work. Sounds like you got a good deal. Don't forget if you see it cheaper elsewhere in the next few days, JB will refund you the difference as they have a price gaurentee (I think it's 10 days but ask them to confirm).
Costco has this TV in their boxing day catalogue.
https://www.mycatalogue.info/costco-boxing-day/Not sure of final price though. It only says $600 off.
$2249 at costco https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/507436
$1970 now
Do you think sony store will price match bing lee $1970 and let me pay across 3 amex cards for extra $300 discount for me via amex deal?
You should be able to pay for it in whatever form you want. You're the customer and the customer is always right.
How did you go splitting across multiple cards?
Didn't pulled the trigger in the end.
Ticketed price in-store at Rockhampton 4701 was $1965, got one for $1895.

Cheers. Did you pay more for delivery? Or pickup yourself

Videopro cheaper at $1,968
https://www.videopro.com.au/p-12516-sony-65-kd65x9500g-uhd-4…For this price does the x950g(is x95g the same just different naming?.) Stand above a Samsung q75r at 65" prices?
Or can you find a q75r for a similar price??
I did see the LG B9 but wondering whats the lowest prices most have found in jb hi fi or other instores?? I do like OLED look but havent heard what this OLED burn in thing is?? Is that a repetitive image left on screen burns into it?? So not an issue if one is playing a dynamic game or movies etc. Where the colours constantly change??
X95G, X950G & X9500G are different names for the same model — KD65X9500G is the full model name.
65" X95G is similar in performance/features to the 65" Q75R, however, the Q75R is currently more expensive (cheapest was $1995 via TGG eBay: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/501361 ).
Thanks. The Q75R i didn't realise could get to $1995, assumed it was alot higher in mid $2000s….the QLEDs are equivalent to OLEDS though, except Samsung's version?
QLED TVs are essentially premium LCD/LED TVs.
RTINGS has a good comparison of QLED vs OLED vs LED TVs
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-type/qled-vs-oled-vs-le…QLED is a marketing name used by Samsung to describe their newer LED TVs. They use traditional LCD panels lit using LEDs. Between the LCD layer and the backlight, a filter with energy reactive nano-particles filters the light to produce more pure and saturated colors.
@1bug: Will check out RTINGS. So pretty much QLED is a wannabe OLED - marketed under samsung's name for a newer LED to make it sound more important than a standard LED?
@SaberX: Yep, wannabe OLED.
If you want to look at Sony X95G alternatives, look at Sammy Q75R (the Q60R is entry-level QLED and doesn't have local dimming).@1bug: Thanks 1bug. I saw the Sony X95G at $1,995 whereas the Q75R seemed to be in the Mid $2000s. In the end i opted for bargaining down the LG B9 to $2495 and took it (included delivery).
Not as cheap as getting the C9 for $2700 in the recent deal but who knows if that'll ever com eback…
Would like to got this tv. Had a look at few online reviews and they mentioned issues with sound quality.
Can someone please share their experiences?$1970 now
Best I could get from Good Guys was $1,900 flat which I was quite happy with as got neighbour to pickup with Ute saving delivery of $55 which they were not keen to budge on even showing I was 5mins away
How much is the discount?
