24 bottles of cider for under $10, it's hard to go wrong!
Best before 11/4/19, so definitely past its prime, but it should still be drinkable. There were at least a dozen slabs left when I was there this afternoon.

Yes
Yeah. It's fine. I know many shops that still sell a year after the best before date. Shocking I know but people still buy it!
You’re confusing Used By and Best Before
https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/consumer/labelling/dates/Pa…
Foods that must be eaten before a certain time for health or safety reasons should be marked with a use by date. Foods should not be eaten after the use by date and can’t legally be sold after this date because they may pose a health or safety risk.
Most foods have a best before date. You can still eat foods for a while after the best before date as they should be safe but they may have lost some quality. Foods that have a best before date can legally be sold after that date provided the food is fit for human consumption.
TLDR: Used By = chuck it by that date, food poisoning ain’t fun. Best Before = May not taste so good afterward the date. But still safe & damn cheap!
No, I'm not confusing the two at all, I'm well aware of the difference.
And yet your question begs to differ
@[Deactivated]: How so? I said best before, not used by.
Your own quote says "Most foods have a best before date. You can still eat foods for a while after the best before date….."
To me, after a while does not extend to 8 months, hence my original question which has been answered.
@shbshb: If you understood and were well aware of the difference, you wouldn't have asked.
Best before is a suggestion.
@[Deactivated]: Read my initial question again. I was not asking if legal to sell past the bb date point blank, but 8 months after.
Apologies if that is too complex for you.
Ha. IGA are known for doing this. My local IGA still sells Lemon-Lime Solo (in the green bottles), even though that flavour was discontinued years ago.
I don’t this it’s legal that far past I know place like premix king r well known for selling stuff past dat but nearly 8 months sheeeee
This stuff isn’t very nice, very tart and wine-like, good price but it’s waaaay past best before
1/4 lemonade, 3/4 cider - all good!
That's some extremely poor inventory management
Sounds like they discovered last years Xmas party leftovers.
It can’t be worse then Gossips/Whispers/Bag’o’Goon
8 months past best before date?! Christ.
Christ.
Well he did turn water into wine, so it shouldn’t be too hard for him to turn this into something drinkable for his birthday next week.
Best before April? Forget that…
Chuck it out.
I'm still working my way through the 8 cases of cider I got for a steal two years ago. They're at least a year past their best before but taste exactly the same. Beer is a different matter.
It depends on the beer of course, if they’re bottle fermented (like Coopers) they don’t have a best Before, as they often taste good (or better) after years of bottling. The pasteurised stuff, can get some off flavours, but usually not for a long time after the best before date.
Just out of interest..can we turn this into ethanol or liquid compost, least greens feels high and festive.
Is it actually legal to sell something that far past its best before date?
