A little over $7 difference, but yeah, still a very good price.
I had some tonight, from the last deal. It really is good :)
The age of a carbon molecule can be determined by measuring the amount of carbon-14 remaining in the molecule. This method is called radiocarbon dating or carbon-14 dating.
Bro cmon don't live like this
Scientists in Glasgow found a unique way to use carbon dating to determine the real age of expensive single malt Scotch whiskies — and immediately found nearly half the bottles tested were unremarkable liquor fraudulently marketed as old and rare.
“Our experiences have suggested that there are a significant number of fake products being sold,” Gordon Cook, a professor of environmental geochemistry, writes in a published paper, putting the number at “approaching half.”
Their test of what was purported to be a bottle of Laphroaig single malt Scotch distilled in 1903 found it was actually distilled from grain grown during the nuclear era — perhaps after 2011 — and so is definitely a fake.
A bottle sourced directly through official distillery channels? I doubt it.
This scotch is one of the blends used in blue label.(read up on Diageo)
Not a bad price for a drop in this price range, however in the mid $60ies range i would recommend Starward double cask over thisThis isn’t a blend, but I get what you’re trying to say.
I think you mean starward two fold, which is definitely the best price-performance Australian made one I’ve found. I wish more were like it.
Bit of a different thing to this though, Cardhu is a very easy drinking single malt, two fold has a bit more flavour due to the blend and the wine barrel aging. I like to keep both on hand, easy solution!
I finally got around to trying Starward after reading this, and I agree. The Two Fold is really great for the price ($65 at Dan's atm). I was surprised how much I liked it given that it's red wine barrell aged and only 40%abv.
I'll have to keep an eye out for any specials on their other offerings.
It's a single malt used in their blends.
I'd take this over Starward double cask any day.
Any drinkable whisky up to $50?
Buy this, then sell 135.5ml of it to someone else for $12.
Thanks for your skimtrack comment, and what a skindrik one you are? ;) I will try Aldi's whisky which all are less than $50.
Thanks for your skimsonic reply.
Any whisky can be drinkable with RC cola.
Monkey Shoulder 12yrs
Naked Malt
Thank you guys.
If you are not hung up on SIngle mallts, then Jamieson Irish is a good whisky
Jameson is pretty good, and is a very friendly whiskey for beginners too. It's fairly weak, sweet, and is not exactly exciting, but I still don't mind the stuff.
It's a sad state of affairs trying to buy a whisky for under $50 here in our Australian nanny state though. You can't even buy a bottle of Jameson for $50 unless it's on special.
$50 is my limit as it is a matter of principle. I ordered Jameson for $45 delivered.
Thanks, grabbed a bottle.
I have ordered two of these on separate occasions. Purchased 1st one 08-Feb and came just fine. Decided to order a 2nd one recently and the whisky box came damaged. It wasn't damaged in transit as the Amazon box was okay. The Whisky box had a 5cm tear on the side and a damaged corner. Contacted Amazon and they offered either 10% refund or replacement. Not sure of other people's orders. Perhaps I was just unlucky?
No as good as it was few weeks ago but would stay still a good price
