  • Pee to Surface ….

Not a bad deal for a Sammi Monitor 28 -$299.2 coded

    Samsung E590 Monitor 28" - LU28E590DS/XY
Dynamic Contrast Ratio: Mega ∞ DCR
    Resolution: 3840×2160
    Pixel Pitch: 0.16×0.16 mm
    Response Time: 1 (GTG)

    Colour Support: 1.07B
    Refresh Rate: 60 Hz

    • +6

      60hz TN Panel.

      • sorry for the simple question - but would it be OK for like office stuff, web surfing mostly or a very occasional movie, or is the 4k resolution overkill esp. for only 28inch? or shall I look for a better quality non TN in say FHD or something like that ? Thanks for any advice :)

        • +3

If you're just using for web browsing and movies, you don't need that fast response time of a TN panel, which means you should go for better picture quality with IPS panels. I wouldn't say 4k is overkill for 28" but I do feel that FHD is too low for it, eith er QHD(1440p) or 4k would be nice for that size.

          • +1

@Lemonbarley: ok, thanks for that mate, exactly what I needed to know :)

        • +2

TN panels are cheaper and more common, and have lower response rate. IPS panels are brighter and typically used by graphic designers as they display more accurate colours. For non-design work and web browsing, this monitor is suitable. Unsure of why the other comment is saying FHD is too low, for the price is entirely fine and the resolution seems good. Obviously higher res is always going to be nicer, but this is $299 for a 28" monitor from Samsung instead of Viewsonic or a cheaper brand, not a bad deal at all.

Can i take it overseas? Last time i got a deal this good i got arrested.

      • put a padlock on your boogie bag next time.

        • Didn't have it plastic wrapped.

  • NVM saw the links haha

  • +4

they removed all the xbox x consoles.. booo to them

  • $200 for the elite controller 2 is a great price too (well still damn expensive but cheapest it has been)

    • -1

I was surprised to see it listed, impulse purchased even though I don't own an Xbox…

      • use it on PC~ >:)

        • I'll see what Xbox deals come up between now and Boxing Day, just gotta decide if I want the X or if the S will do… Big price difference still for what is likely the final year of this generations consoles.

          • @Pesos: not likely - next year - Nov or so new console is out 100% and X will drop in price, but can you wait that long?

            • @botchie: Nope, gotta put the new controller to good use, a whole new level of frustration from my gaming incompetence awaits

  • Finally got it

  • +1

    Hmm, it's Bose.

I take it they'll charge me one price then try and take more money afterwards? :p

  • +7

$300 for QC35 II is considered cheap no? Anyone see cheaper?

    • +1

Very cheap. And cheapest for rose gold.

    • A great price..

    • +3

Cheapest I've seen it was on Black Friday last year. Amazon had it for $299. So $300 is pretty good. Defs worth it IMO.

      • If you're travelling overseas you could claim TRS which brings it down to $266

    • -1

Negatory. Cheapest was $280 using zip pay promo Amazon was running for 1 day only

  • tempting

  • +2

Great price on the Bose. Thank you HPJ.

    • have you bought the 102 deal?

  • +3

$260 after AMEX PayPal cashback. Bloody hell thats cheap

  • $359 for the Bose Home Speaker 500 isnt too bad either
plus the soundsport free wireless for $159

  • Great deal on the QC35s !!

  • AAAARRGGHH. They've removed the Xbox One X…. :(

  • Can we use the AMEX offer when buying via ebay?

    • +2

Im sure that it has to be direct with Microsoft for the AMEX offer to work (I.e. not via paypal and eBay)

      • Dang, has that $100 (spend $500) MS offer in my Amex. Was plan to get 2 QC35 (split with a bro) but now can see this wont work.

  • Is the 35 or Sony one better? Both similarly priced.

    • I quite like my QCs, they are quite comfortable for long flights, noise cancelling is pretty good and so is the sound quality from what I can make out (I'm not a massive audio buff so I can't give you more detail).

    • +1

Don't start this one again… the eternal Ozb debate.

      But i'll summarise:

Generally the Bose feels better on the head and sounds bloody good

Sony sounds a bit better, but does not generally feel as good on the head

      • I second this. Experience owning Sony.. I think Bose feels a bit premium

        • +4

Bose are only premium for a set period until they develop the dreaded won't turn off/power on randomly and drain battery which has been a massive problem for the first and second generation headsets.
Bose support are useless and make you pay to replace them if not in warranty even though it is clearly a fault on their design/manufacturing.
My first gen are effectively useless since this problem developed.
Heaps of threads with a lot of pissed off customers.

    • +1

Sony are better sound wise, bose are better feature wise.

  • +2
    • Rose Pink only :(
Also super ironic that the code is P20SURFACE but there are no Surface Pro 7's for sale.

  • +1

Pulled the trigger on the Bose QC's. Had a %150 eBay voucher. you guys are really bad for my pockets. :'(

  • Thanks! Bought a silver one

  • Thanks! Bought a black one

  • Good deal, thanks for sharing! Bought the Black Bose QC's.

  • would price match be honored for this? getting the pink bose qc35 for the wifey. delivery is 24th december.

    edit.
ran out of stock (pink) as soon as I click pay.

can anyone share their receipt for the pink one? will try to price match in stores if possible. =)

    • If Officeworks has same their policy is to price match and also give you another 5% off on that. I was told they don't do price match if special codes are used though. I had an Amazon au Galaxy price match done at OfficeWorks and saved another approx $50 two weeks ago.

      • +1

thank you for this info @JediJan. i might just get the silver one instead. still cheap at $300. =)

        • +1

          Check Amazon etc. prices first.
An extra 5% on their prices may even be lower than $300.

          Amazon says $360 - $18 (5%) OfficeWorks = $342 (Oh well … worth a shot)

          $388 JB HiFi - $19.40 = $368.60.
Brand not available be at Good Guys.

          Check other stores too.

There are new black sets for $320 buy it now or no bids on ebay.

          $320 - $16 (5%) = $304 ?

  • +6

    I don't need the QC35..why tf am I tempted?

    • +2

Need? What is this need? This is ozbargain. Justification of purchase is after not before.

  • Pulled the trigger on Solo 5, this season is hitting my pockets

  • Just watched all of the laptops disappear from the sale, wonder if it was just me…?

  • Very tempting. Do they provide tax invoice in the delivery package - for TRS purpose ?

    • +1

Yes, in a plain text email. When I showed it, TRS Ofifcer was verifying with his colleague whether that's valid but processed finally:)

    • Yes, have used TRS from microsoft previously, has same abn on regular invoice.

  • Thanks OP. Was just talking about buying something yesterday and then saw this!

  • No surface laptop 3 on the eBay store?

  • i already have one QC35II and QC30 but i am still tempted to buy :(

    • +1

but do you have one of each colour

  • Bought black one! Thanks

  • Will JB Hi-fi price match?

    • Tried to price match all 3 JB Hi-Fi's in Brisbane yesterday on this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504817

None of them would do it, which seemed contrary to what their price match policy says.

      • I too tried they say they don't price match ebay but with amazon they do, weird

  • Vive prices are pretty good on there too. Cosmos for $950, normally $1,299 direct from their site.

  • OP, with 1% through shopback, $297 for the QC35ii would make this the cheapest ever??

    • Code will exclude cb

  • Make sure you don't update the firmware. They degraded the ANC and still haven't fixed it.

    • Do you know what version of firmware it comes out of the box? Is there a chance it will automatically download this latest update when connected to Bose connect app for the first time? I use android FYI.

      • That is always a chance. I guess it depends when it was manufactured.

I bought mine about 15 months ago and it is still safe because the update that broke it happened either early this year or late last year.

        • So is the app really needed for these headphones?

          • @TanTheMan: Not at all. I uninstalled the app as soon as I heard about the firmware issues.

The Sony app allows much more control.

            • @lostn: @lostn Only reason I bought these over the sony are because i tend to wear headphones for long periods in the office/travel. Don't really need NC but never know.

I have owned one bose headphones since 2010 which still work so no question on bose's quality. However, was shocked to see close to 200 pages of complaints on the bose community forums regarding the fw issue, and still no fix!

Could you check by any chance that you can see what the fw is on your headphones without the app on the phone? I may just switch off internet when I connect for the first time to ensure it does not update. Thanks.

              • @TanTheMan: i don't know how to check the firmware without the app. And I'm not installing it again for safety.

Some suspect the ANC being degraded is reversible but they want to get you to go and buy the new Bose 700s as a replacement.

How long ago have you had yours?

                • @lostn: @lostn I just ordered this yesterday as part of this sale. Just ensuring I dont downgrade the units with a fw upgrade.

    • have purchased a black one last black friday sale. Read about this update as well.

I made sure the installed current firmware was the same, if you use the Bose app and when you use a laptop to check. I read that some units are showing different installed firmware when using the app or using the laptop to check.

I updated mine using the laptop just to ensure that it will be properly installed.

Did not noticed any change from ANC, still the same for me. My backup plan was just to return the unit to JB Hifi within the 7days as I update 1 day after.

So far so good. Waiting this one from Microsoft if the firmware will be the same before updating.

      • what version did you update it to? Is it an older version before they broke the ANC?

  • JUST WENT TO BOSE DEAL AND IT MUST HAVE FINISHED YESTERDAY

    • @RonaldR
All BOSE QuietComfort 35 II Headphones out of stock.

  • back in stock now

    • Thanks for the update. Unfortunately no rose gold though :(

  • +2

    Hey Guys,
The BOSE QuietComfort 35 II is back in stock !!!!!!! I just purchased a set.

I was beaten by "valra" cheers mate.

  • Thanks headphonejack. I was slow and the item was out of stock so I watched the listing like a hawk and they popped their head up and I grabbed one. Cheers

  • Hey guys. I'm new here. I had my eye on some rose gold Bose QC35II headphones in the Microsoft sale but missed out. I'm hoping they will go on sale somewhere on Boxing Day. What's the best way to find relevant deals? Who tends to have those headphones go out on special for a decent discount? Ta.
