Does this use micro usb to charge? 2012 called..

    • -1

Yes, it is getting hard to charge as it's becoming a legacy cable.

charging is easy via the Micro-B USB port

    • yep. The micro USB was already a downside when I bought version 1 in 2019, and it's just absurd they stuck with it for Version II.

My port became dodgy after ~2 years so I got a dock and only charge using that now.

It's a great speaker in a lot of ways but really hard to recommend at this price

      • Even the discontinued Bose SoundLink Mini II Special Edition came with a USB-C charging port.

It's now reduced further to $299

    • Thanks mate, I have just updated

  • Good price. I paid more than $299.

    This speaker has good features:

    • 1/4 inch tripod mount on base.
    • Water and dust resistant, durable.
    • 3.5mm Aux in and USB audio in; stereo pairing.
    • Automatic battery protection mode if you don't use within 3 days.
    • No requirement to sign up or activate it with app. You don't need the app.
    • Sound disperses 360 degrees.
    • Bass is over-emphasised at low to medium volumes. It's trying to sound like a bigger speaker than it is. You could possibly EQ your source to counter this. But it's a good clear sound for the size, and you might even prefer the boomy-bassy sound.
    • When up loud, the speaker reduces the bass automatically, helping the above issue at high volume.
  • To be a bit of a shill, I've had the original type of these revolve speakers. Got it new many years ago (the release date was apparently 2017 but I would of thought its many years older then that). One of those things that 'just works' and sounds great. Its been through pool partys, random friday nights and even a few house builds and renovations (you can imagine the dust). Never once failed and sounds great. No idea if the new one is as good but I will keep this old one going for as long as I'm able.
