    Why people buy these? I hope it's not just for trying to find a bunch of coins at the beach…. Perhaps for rings?

      I first got interested when I found a facebook group of a heritage detection group that did outings to recover what they could from historical sites like old army bases. But there seems to be a few general beach combers and some relived spouses who bought one for a specific purpose like recovering a lost wedding ring.

      There’s no ground balance adjustment function, for example, which is limiting for experienced detectorists. This also makes it virtually impossible to use on saltwater beaches or ground with high mineralization.

    The way its been edited seems to read as you buy it from the US site, but this is from the AU site using AU dollars.

      Metals with a high conductivity will be picked up more easily, but you can tinker with the settings depending on what you're looking for. This guy does a pretty good demonstration with this metal detector on how to pick up different metal types: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLqffCDDoxQ
