LifeSmart Two Plus Ketone Test Strips + Lifesmart Two Plus Blood Glucose B-Ketone Monitor System $11.99 + Post @ PharmacyDirect

100

Not sure if it's a website glitch but when adding the test strips to cart it automatically adds a Glucose/B-Ketone meter (Non Bluetooth) as a free gift. No mention of the free meter that I can find on the website but I can confirm I ordered last week and received both the strips and the free meter.

Standard delviery to Sydney metro for me was $7.95

Useful if you're thinking of starting or are on a keto diet!

These are better than the pee strips if you’re assessing yourself for ketosis, just an FYI for those who are just starting out on the diet.

    • I have bought those piss strips in a plastic bottle off Ebay, but after opening them and using a few the humidity quickly destroys the rest. Is that the problem you are referring to?

That, but moreso if you’ve been in ketosis for a while, your urine may not give you an accurate reading and your levels may be off as your body has adapted to the diet - that’s where a monitoring system like this comes in handy.

Since I’m doling unsolicited advice can I please encourage everyone who’s considering this diet to initially get their bloodwork done and assess their baseline HDL/LDL cholesterol levels, then re-assess after a month.

That, and please be conscious of the types of fats you consume in this diet. It’s not a free ticket to eat KFC or smash bacon.

  • I want to buy it to check my blood glucose level but feels like impulse buying.

    • While the meter reads blood glucose, I think you need to buy different test strips.

Since BG meters are usually free (see past Deals) - saving this $20, it's just the test strips that cost. (If you are Diabetic, usually the first 6 month supply is heavily susidised.)

Some GPs offer free blood glucose testing etc when seeing the GP. Mine does. Otherwise get a referral to the Pathologist. There are probably other ways to get tested.

  • Where to get extra strips?

    • Go to Deal. 10 strips for $11.99 + $7.95 Postage.

  • Hi OP, did you had to buy your own lancets and lancing device or was it included in the pack. Thanks

Included in the pack with the meter

  • It says it measures cholesterol, does anyone know how you use it for that and what data it gives you (just total cholesterol or breakdown of LDL, HDL, Triglycerides)

  • Anyone end up getting the free meter?
I'm still waiting for a refund as all they sent me were the strips.
