  • How are they with updates?

    • +1

They are pathetic with updates and their customer service is pathetic. It is good to buy Xioami phones rather than this phones as they are most reliable.

Xiaomi maybe more reliable. However, don't expect updates and their customer service is almost non existent. Umidigi has had feedback about the quality of their products being dubious in the past. What interests me is they offer band 28, while Xiaomi seems to rarely do so in the lower end of the market. This makes Xiaomi a piece of junk in my opinion for anyone that regularly travels more than 50km from a city and would like 4g services. If anyone has recently purchased a Umidigi phone and is therefore in a position to update my view about their quality, please speak up!

  • xiaomis now seem to come out with b28

i was tempted by the umidigi power 3 but yeah impossible to get someone to talk to me there. they seem to churn out models just as or quicker than xiaomi. their software doesnt have a great reputation.

    • The software for the UI is stock android. I loved it. The camera software blows

      • before cancelling it i read it could be quite buggy (it may have been in regards to the camera, as it's what i look at the most after the battery life)

Ive had the Umidigi F1 play for about 2 months now, have to say it's a very solid phone, much faster than my previous LG G6. No issues at all, battery lasts days, the only negative is the photo quality is a bit average. Otherwise this is an awesome phone for the money. If the camera quality was better I would keep this for years, just waiting for a good deal on a Mi9t and will probably upgrade

    • Good to hear im so tempted to pick one up but the new model comes out in just 5 weeks that has a some nicer refinements.

Was hoping to catch a great discount on these over Cyber monday but missed the bargains when they popped up and now all out of stock.

  • Great phone. The Power 3 is probably better value though

I've had the F1 Play since June. It's received 2 updates so far. The first update was in July about 2 weeks after I got the phone and it completely fixed the photo/camera quality issue people had mentioned. The camera has been since then, and still is, incredible as far as crisp detailed resolution. I can take a quick photo (free hand, no tripod or stand etc), open the image, and zoom in as far as I want without losing any focus of whatever I'm zooming in on.

So I'm not sure why mikey and scotty are still struggling camera software wise? It was flagged as an issue when the Play came out, UMIDIGI acknowledged the issue and put out a statement saying an update was being worked on to fix it. Within the month they had rolled out the update and every forum I looked at seemed to have people super impressed and happy with the camera quality post update

I don't have a software issue, I have the latest updates, the photos are just not the best quality. For example I took a bunch of photos of my car in the middle of a sunny day, and the phone has applied some kind image processing where there's kind of like a wash/blurring of the colour over the car, to the point where you cant even see the joins around the door for example. But I have also taken other pics where this hasn't happened and they look a bit better.

    • I had all the latest updates. Your PLAY variant has a better camera sensor. My non play model took acceptable shots in good light, but the software and auto focus was so slow that photographing children was impossible.. always blurry. Even candid shots of adults were terrible
