  • Surprised that Futu isn't there

    • Shopping express is tho.
I bought something of futu and package was from shopping express.

      • +1

So is KS Computers and Academic IT. Both trading names of futu and shallothead.

        • But if the invoice is eg shallothead then no claim, right?

          • +1

@herbus: I've received invoices from shallothead trading under: K S Computers Auburn. So based on that I think it would be eligible.

A quick search of the ABN shows all of these names:

            Smart Home Store
            Smart Home Expresso
            Smart Home Era
            ACADEMIC IT MARKET
            K S COMPUTERS AUBURN

    • +1

      They’re Shopping Express.

      • +2

        Buy from CA,Mwave,PCCG,PLE,Scorptec,Futu,Wireless1

  • Annoying, just bought one of these 2 days ago!

    • +2

      Still apply lol

      • How? The purchase period only commenced this morning.

  • +1

Any good deal for 860evo 1t?

  • +5

Be aware with Samsung cashback i submitted my application back in July and they still have not given me monies. They stop responding to my emails and I had to make a few calls they just confirmed still processing which is outrageous. Planning on taking them to the court.

    • +6

I actually found the cash back process to be quite fast and have claimed twice. That being said the website is confusing due to username vs email and at least when I was doing it, you had to manually change the URL to AU since it kept defaulting it to Indonesia for some reason.

      • +2

Cashback was quick and painless for me when I bought a couple of SSDs this time last year from Samsung.

        • Mine also came thru $17 cashback on 860 Evo 500G 2.5" SSD - looks they giving $9cb this time.

      • It was definitely au website and they validated my application on the same day of submission. I don’t understand why it takes forever for them to send me the monies. They were nice and every time I called they would apologise but still it’s not something I could tolerate, especially give the terms were saying cash back will be deposited within 28 days

    • Good to know.

      • +2

Yeah I have to agree they are hopeless, so I wouldn't recommend buying anything just on the basis of getting this cashback.
Easily wasted more time chasing them up than the cashback is worth.
Over 10 emails & 5 calls and still haven't received the cashback from the process I started in August.

        • +1

I plan on taking them to court. You should do too! Although my time is much more valuable than the cashback, it’s just a matter of principle. I don’t planning on buying anything from Samsung in the future. So hopeless

    • +1

Agree, same to me. Still in process, painful

    • +4

I had the same experience - though it was with a serial number that was "invalid" (when in fact it was valid, but their system kept not recognising it).

I eventually rang NSW Fair Trading and it was sorted within 2 weeks after FT got on them. I'd suggest you do the same.

      • Just tried my 1TB and got invalid serial. Wondering if it's because the model number on the drive is "MZ-V7S1T0" as opposed to "MZ-V7S1T0BW"…

Hoping there is an easier way to sort it out? Am email or number to call?

        About to try my 2 x 500GBs.

      • +1

        The two 500GBs worked.

I called 1300 362 603, they told me to email [email protected] with my name, my contact details, the model, the serial number, and the date of purchase. They said after 3-5 days and a technical review, if no issues the online system should be updated to enable claiming with the serial number.

Will let you know how I go.

    • +1

The Borderlands 3 promotion took a long time also

    • This is my experience also.

More than 1 month no cashback. Doesn't respond to email. Calling gets only "rest assured we are following up" canned responses.

  • Can I also claim the NBA 2K20 and the cashback? Would rather the cashback, but if I can get both then I may as well.

    • +1

I think the NBa2k promo expired

      • Ahh you're right, I was looking at the claim period and not the promo period

  • Works if you from the their eBay store?

    • Yes as long as the seller sent you an invoice identifying as one of the participating sellers.

    • I bought from computer alliance eBay store and they provide a tax invoice which works for claiming.

  • Time to wait to pounce on a good 15-20% off deal on eBay. That being said it seems cashback amounts have fallen quite a bit since the last promotion.

    • The constant 10% off is a little tiresome

  • +2

Wireless1 have the Evo 1TB for a decent price after 15% off ($318 -> $270, staticice has $300 as best price). They're on the cashback list, so that's $239.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-1TB-M-2-NVM…

Still undecided but might as well post this to save someone else some time.

Edit: Amazon has the Evo Black/Red for $253, international delivery

  • The Pro 512GB works out to be the same price as the Evo Plus 1TB.
Is the Pro really worth twice as much?
I will be using it to develop code, so lots of writing of small files in the IDE.
But don't think the Pro will run 2x as fast?

    • From my very basic understanding you're mainly buying the pro because it's rated for double the amount of writes (life cycle).

      • You buy a pro for the sustained writes maintaining high speed. Lesser drives the speed drops off once the cache is used up. Eg if u do a lot of 4K video editing for a job u might want a pro.

    • No, not even 10% faster.

      • Thanks! Got the Evo Plus.

  • Any deals on 2TB qvo

  • Kai Seng Computer Solution is Futu. I have already claimed one cash back and two games from the last promo.

Their invoice have Kai Seng Computer Solution on it.

    • Just bought from shallothead and the paypal receipt shows Kai Seng Computer Solution Pty. Limited as well.

Are they the same as K.S. COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY on the approved seller list above?

      • On the Futu invoice they have this

        KS COMPUTERS AUBURN/ACADEMIC IT MARKET

  • 970 Evo+ 500GB FOR NON EBAY PLUS MEMBERS
    500gb for $133: https://www.centrecom.com.au/samsung-970-evo-plus-500gb-nvme…
$149 plus free shipping -16 cashback is $133

    • $300 for the 1TB one

      • Yeah but I'm fairly sure you can do better than that on ebay without plus

  • +4
  • Great, been looking for the 860 EVO 500GB as a game drive.
Not sure if I should spend extra for the 1TB though…

  • +1

Just a word of advice to avoid shipping to a business address as Samsung denied my previous claim, stating that I was a business and therefore ineligible. I disputed this via email, CC'd Consumer Affairs etc, arguing that the invoice was in my name, with shipping "care of" a business address. They eventually folded, I got my cash back, but it was a pain in the arse. Also worth noting they offered more cash back in previous deals for a 1TB EVO and prices haven't shifted much.

    • I use our work address for most deliveries as many times the Postie doesn't even attempt at dropping stuff off our apartment, even tho we usually have a concierge downstairs. So I have to take time off work to go to the local post office, which is not close to my work! This would be more of a hassle unless I could just pick up in person somewhere more convenient.

  • OOF!

I thought for a minute this applied to the t5 2 TB SSD portable drive deal on the other post.

  • Got the 1TB Evo Plus from Wirelsss eBay for $270 using the 15% off code (ebay plus). Comes to $240 with the rebate.
500 GB Evo Plus works out to be $130 after the rebate & discounts.

  • Shopping express is 267 for 1tb less $31 for evo plus, code Pilgrim

    $236 delivered

  • Anyone know if the 860 QVO SSD 1TB is any good? What's the reason it is cheaper than the 860 EVO?

    • Technology. Look up SLC, MLC, TLC and (quad) QLC on YouTube.

    • From what I've read, you generally won't notice the difference except the QVO can run slowly in some special situations. The QVO also only has a 3 year warranty whereas the EVO has 5 years.

    • If the price isn't much different the EVO would be a good choice. I have the EVO and am very happy with it.
