Second time posting so I hope I've got all the deets correct.

I was looking into an Air Compressor for my 4x4 a month ago and after watching lots of reviews I decided that this one was good value/quality. Unfortunately I bought one on Ebay for $70 more than this only 30 days ago, so I've missed out on the deal, but thought others might be interested.

Was considering the Thumper Max Dual Air Compressor MkII, does anyone know the difference?

The Thumper Max is twice as fast (150 litres per minute versus about 72 lpm for the Bushranger).
However the current draw is ridiculous at 90 amps.
Before I looked this up, I had rewired the thumper to an Anderson plug to run from a socket at the rear of my 4wd. However it kept cutting out due to the excessive current draw. Then when I connected it straight to the battery it melted some wires from the heat.

I have subsequently bought this Bushranger one and been very happy

    • Bushranger have been around for a fair few years now, I've had mine since 2008 and it's still going strong (I got mine for free for buying 4 BFGoodrich tyres). I dropped mine and last year and broke the air filter housing, I emailed them they sent me the part number to order the replacement housing from TJM. I understand the appeal of kings gear but if I was buying again, for the $60 difference I think I'd go for bushranger again. Mine hasn't let me down yet in 11 years and spare parts for my compressor are still available. I wonder if Kings changed their compressor model how long spare parts would be available for it?
