the dsi xl will be dropping in price because the 3ds is dropping in price you should be able to find it in stores for around 200 dollars next week.
Lots of bad reviews about this model and about Fishpond - some of the customer reviews say they are shipped from europe with the wrong chargers, others are saying the price keep changing and orders get cancelled.
I'd avoid this.+1 because it's black and yellow, black and yellow, black and yellow

I just bought one from Myers - Loganholme for just $179.4 on the weekend.
fishpond has been a pain for me, still waiting on an order I placed in June. I would suggest Myers instead.
I price beat Myer at GoodGuys for $175 and any colour I wanted about a month ago now…

It pisses me off how people think that the 3DS is just another DS with 3D tacked on. For God's sake people it's a whole new system. Like the Game Boy Advance was the predecessor to the original DS.
You cannot play 3DS games on the DS, DS Lite, DSi or the DSi XL. Only the 3DS. Although you can play DS games (even flashcarts) on the 3DS.
If you don't want 3D, TURN IT OFF! That's why there is a 3D depth slider! You'll be missing out though.
The 3DS will be $250 on August 12th and come with a free game (Super Monkey Ball) at EB. Not sure about the other stores but that seems pretty decent. Although I'm still thinking of buying another US 3DS console for $170 + shipping.
Absolutly. Even if you don't care about 3d, chances are you have an interest in playing new games. For not a lot more you may as well get the newer machine, especially when its backwards compatible.

The 3DS is dropping to $249.95 from Aug 12 so get that or if you really must have an older generation one I'm sure they will be cheaper or better had second hand going forwards.
I can see no good reason not to wait a week and pay $40 for the model that will be supported going forwards. Even if 3D isn't your cup of tea you can still turn the effect off.
