Wow, good effort on successfully getting EB games to match this! I was always under the impression that EB were pretty strict when it came to price matching.

How did you go about doing it? Brought in a printout of the webpage?

They've always matched games on the rare occasion I've bought from them.

      • Yes, but they don't usually price match hardware, and they don't usually price match online deals.

  • You need to add $8 shipping to the thread title plus it's mentioned by blublu here

    • haha yeh I got GG to price beat to $175 so pretty happy :)

Yep, I just printed out the Myer advertisment!

    • Nice. I have a few EBs in my area so I might give this a go. Thanks for the tip :)

Edit: Is there a Myer in Melbourne Central? I know sometimes certain EB stores can be stingy and refuse to match because the competitor is not in the immediate vicinity.

Theres an EB games on elizabeth street, near the corner of lt. collins street, which is in the direct vicinity of myer in melbourne. They usually price match without problems

        • Ah okay. In that case I might try my luck at an EB with a Myer nearby first.

There is another on Swanston, if I remember it right its between flinders and collins.

Swanston/Elizabeth/Melbourne Central EB are all within a 5 minute walk from Myers, if they don't take that as immediate vicinity, don't know what will.

  • This just reminds me how good the 3DS was at $200 the other week

  • don't mean to be rude but why people still buying DSi. I mean all new game are come out on 3DS and not compatible with DSi (i thing the compatible things is really a wrong move from nintendo). Is there any way to play new 3DS games on these DSi console?

    • This deal is for the DSi XL though. In any case I'm personally not really interested in 3D gaming on the 3DS so it's not a major issue that the games aren't backwards compatible. The main reason why anyone would get the DSi XL is for the 93% increase in screen area when compared to the DS Lite.

    • Because the 3DS costs almost twice as much as this.

  • Really?? What's wrong with Myer. Aren't they the most expensive place? :)

  • Only yellow left :(
I guess I'll wait, I already have a DS Phat, DS Lite and 3DS. I'd like an XL, but they will only get cheaper.

Are Myer selling for this price in store?

  • Great find! I just bought this from Dick Smith yesterday for $199… :(

  • Which one should I buy NDS XL or 3DS? as not much different on the price.
    Any recommendation pls. Cheers.

    • Not that hard to make a decision. The crux of it is that if you want to play 3D games then go for the 3DS. If you don't care about 3D and would prefer a larger screen then go for the DSi XL

Other than that you can compare the technical differences between the two here:
