I'm new to road cycling (started in May) and I can tell you that cycling clothing is much more comfortable, and keeps you warm in the winter (yes I commuted to work on my road bike almost every day this past winter). At the beginning, I used to wear my workout/gym clothing, but it was ridiculous how sweaty and uncomfortable I got, which made me lose focus and I got tired much more quickly - imagine going for a jog in your jeans and you'll understand what I mean.
In the winter, I've actually come across a few cyclists who wore puffer jackets and there was one who even wore a paintball mask! I can't begin to imagine how uncomfortable that would be…
In the same boat, new but without cycling clothing gear. Did you buy from these guys or somewhere else?
Getting discounted clothing from Wiggle is generally a safe option, plenty of brands although their in-house DHB stuff is likely cheapest and not bad at all - various levels depending on what fit your after and how much you want to spend.
I haven't used these guys before, so can't comment.
i been riding about 2 months dude, doing anywhere from 30km to 50km a day at the moment and i just wear normal shorts and a tshirt, also have a backpack on. nothing uncomfortable about that. each to their own though :)
