  • $18.50 for shipping is pretty steep if you don't spend over $50..

    • It was $40 shipping for the Brewover and 1x 250gm coffee for me lol.
      No brainer!

      • Yeah, decided to share some beans with a mate, got 5 x 500g bags for $56.60 shipped, which is pretty good..:)

  • Does anyone have this machine and can comment on it?

    • +3

Yeah, I backed it when it was on kickstarter.
Haven't used it in a while (had a kid, got an espresso machine - haven't had time to do cold-drip), but I loved it when I was using it.
Can't compare to other cold-drip machines, but it works pretty well. The drip tends to slow as the water level decreases so you need a bit of monitoring, but I think that's common to most entry level drippers.
Can also use for cold-immersion brewing which I liked and actually used more often than the cold-drip.
The pourover was hit and miss for me, I think the valve is a little smaller than ideal, but I've also struggled with pourovers in other brewers. I think you really need a gooseneck kettle for them to work well to get the pour right.

P.S. It's also made by one of OzBargain favourite bean sellers manna beans

      • Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

  • FWIW, the Hario is still on sale at Amazon.

    • I have both the Hario and this Brewover which I use for cold brew. The paper filters on the Brewover filter out far more sediment than the Hario's plastic filter.

I haven't done a side-by-side taste test though. The Brewover has all the coffee soaking in all the water while the Hario only has the coffee sitting in the top half of the jug. Whether or not that makes a difference, I haven't tested.

      • I'm pretty sure the original design of the brewover had a long basket option for immersion brewing like the Hario, but they decided not to include it as they said it didn't work very well and was better just cold brewing in the funnel.

  • Anyone know what the grind options on the beans are all about? Does choosing espresso domestic mean they will come already ground? (Coffee n00b)

    • +1

Yeah, all options other than 'Beans' will be ground. The choice will impact the fine-ness of the grind. Espresso will be pretty fine, Plunger will be pretty course. What you want will depend on how you make your coffee.

      • Legend. Thanks mate.

  • Possibly dumb question but.. how do I add the brewer to cart..

  • Recieved my order a few days ago. Best. Coffee. Ever.
    Thanks OP
