Gotta say I agree with you… releasing an incomplete collection is just cashing in. Perfectionists will buy another Complete collection… and then a complete collection with bonus never before material will be released… and then a collection with a special edition complete collection with bonus material and a limited edition wand will be released.

Great price, but I think I'm going to wait it out until they remaster the first couple of films and release the complete boxset.

It is a ridiculously tempting price, but I've been saying for years that I'll wait for a complete boxset. Only a few more months and there should be one :)
Given how much more this is than the Vol 1-6 offer was last Christmas (£29 vs £18), I'd be inclined to wait for the complete 1-8 set that should turn up in time for this Christmas.
Waiting for the version where everything isn't shot in near complete darkness.

Hmm might have to buy it to watch all this silly nonsense of a series of movies.
All eight parts will take much much longer to reduce to this kind of price. The only reason they are so low is because they know they need to get rid of them before the collection of all 8 comes out.
People looking for a bargain, I'd think you should buy this now and buy the last movie seperately. It won't be as neat as the full box set, but they're the same movies.

bought it…got the LOTR collection as well…came altogether 55$. Thats 10 movies. beats renting them :)
Although you could assume someone purchasing this would be a collector/avid fan, I initially thought this set would be bought for someone who has never seen many/ANY of the previous films. You'd by them the set to either entice them to watch the last/8th film, or buy it because they watched the last film and none of the others.
I know this is pretty doubtful, but that was my thought :O
