Amazing. Its like you are inside the disney movies making the story yourself. Like you are really having a conversation with space cadet buzz lightyear.
If you're in KH for the story, then play it :) But that does mean you need to refresh your memory on what happened in all the games up until now, and that does include the games across all consoles. Some of them weren't remade in The Story so Far, so you'll just have to watch the movie versions of those games. And watch the movie. It's all related.
Personally, the combat isn't as fleshed out as other KH games, so if you just wanna hack and slash, it might be better replaying older games
Huge let down for me. I regret pre-ordering and getting myself hyped up for it.
Gameplay was severely lacking compared to all the previous games, felt much more linear (if that was possible, basically zero reason to re-visit worlds for the most part) the Disney worlds were straight up re-tellings of the movies for most of them rather than original content - Pirates of the Caribean and Frozen seemed like they just wanted to showcase the graphics as tech-demos with Sora and co. milling about in the background. Combat was pretty laughably easy also, though I think they might have patched in some harder modes since last time I played in January.
And the overall story to the game was.. yeah wow. I dunno how to describe it - and I mean that quite literally in the sense that I couldn't understand a lick of wtf was going on. Move over Metal Gear Solid, if you want incomprehensible cutscenes that last hours on end and that completely overstay their welcome then KH3 is where it's at.
For $24? I mean it could be worse like what I paid.. if it were me I'd wait for the ten bucks or under bargain bin if you really need to get your hands on it though.
These are some rough comments… what happened to the franchise!
Guess I’ll wait til it hits the bottom of the bargain bin, then. Thanks all
I mean, a lot of that has to do with the fact that we waited about a decade since KH2 for this sequel to come along, so expectations and the Bar was pretty high =(
Apparently Frozen's world in KH3 was in development since before the movie came out, so they had limited understanding of the world and characters. It showed. I don't know why the didn't touch it up before releasing it
Totally agree. The level design was some of the worst I've ever seen. It was also super super easy and I never once felt challenged, which would have been bearable if the story was actually half decent. Really disappointing too, as I was looking forward to it for years.
Tangled re-telling was terrible(the satchel). Last 1/4 of the game was great for me but I am not sure if it was worth the time to push through. The mini-games were not fun, looking at the find and collect in Frozen and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Best looking KH game but it took a lot of time to get to the good parts and I hated the combat especially with the Disney attractions attack.
There are approximately five million other kingdom Heart's games on about 20 different game consoles. You can play all of them in the proper order and still have NO IDEA WTF IS HAPPENING.
I'm waiting for a complete edition
Great spelling 🔥
Sorry, i fixed spelling now.
Still shows as 39.
Still shows in 4 days
Oops too excited. I'm sorry. 4 days to go.
Bought it digital a few months ago. Kinda regret buying it at all.
Seems like not a good deal looking at your comment and above
Aren’t there more pages from that catalogue?
Kingdom hearts is only on one page.
the worst game; i hate Cloud Strife
Luckily for you, he's not in this one.
B*stard :(
Got deluxe from Amazon for $30 xb1, not sure if it's still there. But depends if you value the book and steel book at the extra price lol.
Is this good for someone new to KH series?
Do you like Disney characters? And Square RPGs?
Buy the 1.5+2.5 remix pack, at least in those main games they put some effort into the story
How is the game not through nostalgia tinted glasses? Ive played the original kh 10 yrs ago but will only get this one if it holds up on its own
Rough, even through tinted glasses. See reviews above.
That's depressing
Many reviews above
Download the demo and see if it's for you before taking the plunge.
I got it a week or so ago and played it over the weekend. I found the editing in the cutscenes was atrocious, but maybe little kids are more forgiving.
Thankfully I now know what the game is like and I WON'T be purchasing, even at this price.
Thank god for demos.I'm glad I didn't get it during the sale two weeks ago. Thanks, OP.
Is every deal from the JB catalogue going to be posted separately?
No, their $389 ps4 pro is not the cheapest at the moment so it will not be posted separately.
Despite its flaws, I found it to be a fun game, with a lot going for it. More so than some of the opinions here.
It's definitely more linear (through some misguided attempt to reduce backtracking by making longer but fewer worlds) and I think the pacing suffered as a result.
Certain combo elements have been massively streamlined and improved, although some are a little invasive.
It's visually stunning, especially on Pro. There is also DLC due very soon, which should add more story and some post-game content.
If you like KH, then it's well worth this price.
It’s fun and cool to play within those universes. But my goodness, the cutscenes are absolutely excruciating. Plus the final boss took about 2 hours from memory. It’s fun, but nothing special.
Biggest letdown story wise, to be honest it would have been better if they never made it =\
I betcha anything this will be on gamepass or Disney's streaming service, so ahhh 🙉
Save your money unless you absolutely love the franchise. Even then, I reckon you'll be disappointed lol.
PS4 is $23 now at Amazon
Is it worth it for nostalgia’s sake? What’s the consensus of those who have played through the game?
