Last time this deal came up I literally asked them if I could buy their two cheapest PS4 games and just trade them back in, they said sure. The games were FIFA 15 and FIFA 16 (combining to $5).
However recently when I did a trade in for ring fit adventure the small print specified one game must have a trade in value of at least $10.
Your best bet is to call your local store and ask them specifically, if you don't like their answer, call your next closest store. Good luck!
I went to do the 2 games at $10 value to get jedi fallen order cheaper. The only games they would accept out of the huge pile i brought in was God of war, and red dead redemtion. games they are still selling for $80 each.
Best thing is to ring your local store since the details of the trade-in varies from store-to-store. Also, depends on the staff member you get. Some are lenient or not well informed etc.
Edit - last time the PS4 Pro trade-in deal was advertised, I traded in my old Pro (warranty was expiring) for a new Pro. I gave them 2 X FIFA 15 and paid only $79 on top.

When it comes to these console trade deals, they aren’t fussy about what games you’re trading. As long as they are ‘resealable’, meaning the cases are undamaged and the disc isn’t too scratched. Otherwise you’ll get a small charge for them to be refurbished. Enjoy your new Pro :-)
This must vary from store to store. When I did my trade-in with the previous deal, I was told I could not buy some cheap pre-owned games to trade in. Ended up trading in my Watch Dogs and Assassins Creed Syndicate.
I took this deal up last time and I bought two copies of Fifa 14 or whatever for $2 and traded them in. Worked ok.
So far with console deals they aren't too fussy.
I've only noticed the minimum game price being mentioned with game deals (trade two games for one new game kinda deal).
I guess it's because with consoles, their profit margin in greater, so they can cop the lower game prices.

Last time I traded my OG 500GB PS4 for $179 (additional $30) which they accepted even though the thumb pad on the controller had worn through the rubber. I also traded in FIFA 15 and 16 as the games.
This seems to vary by store. Noarlunga would only take the slim, but the Seaford were happy to take any version for more cash and any two games ("even really old ones"). I traded my 500gb with Doom and Watchdogs 2 for $199.

Yes, they don't ask for box. Its console, controller, power cable, hdmi cable, usb cable to charge controller.

It’s still able to be traded without all components, but if there’s a missing cable it’ll just be a $5 charge on top.

I traded in a generic USB cable and they didn't mention it.
Remember trades can only be used for purchases in the same transaction, so if you have plans to trade in other un-used games now could be the time.
Stating the obvious, but you can also trade in your other games and hardware to reduce the price further.
Last deal, they traded my original gen but had to pay a little more. It was worth it, as the pro runs the existing titles a lot cooler and better.
Differs from state to state regarding trade-in credit. For example, in QLD you are able to trade in games, etc and have the value put on a gift card to use another time.

There’s no limit to using gift cards in-store.
Maybe in you're state. Up here in Qld you can trade for store credit or (less in) cash anytime.

If the EB deal is going on in 4 days, could potentially go into EB and match the $369 and still get $400 for your PS4 Slim- walking out with $31 rather than paying $149 :)
You'd be very hard pressed to sell an OG PS4 for $190, espeically with Slims at $229 this week.

that says you need both consoles and a lan cable, but they arn't going to let me do that instore though lol
If you want to transfer actual downloaded content then you'll need both consoles connected. If you just want user data by logging into account and redownloading your content then you don't need both.
If I remember right, you can transfer to a blank external drive, then transfer back to new PS4. It may also work making the external drive an extended drive, then just plug that into new PS4 as an extended drive? I've only done the first option before.
If you don't have psn, I strongly recommend you to grab any of usb you have and put it in to ps4 and transfer all the save files to the usb so you won't miss the contents you have had on your old ps4.

I have an external drive with some back ups in it, worried they might get wiped
When I did this when this deal last happened, I had to use 1 TB hard drive as a backup drive.
Once I received the PS4 Pro, I then plugged in the backup drive and brought the data back.

is the PS4 Pro still having issues with the loud fan or is it fixed?
I got one of these in the last deal. While some of the graphics are better, I'm not so sure it's worth it for the loud fan noise!
For games with a soundtrack or ambient sounds it doesn't bother me too much but when there's a quiet scene I can definitely hear it trying to take off.
While a few people complain about the fan, I also got one in the last run and it is a lot quieter for myself than the original.
The only time I have heard the fan over a game was playing doom, but that was also a loud game (fan wise) on the original.
I have boost enabled and play a lot of 4K content.
I do hear placement it critical, if the PS4 Pro is in a cabinet, place it right at the back with Zero restrictions on air-flow and open the door.
If the unit can't extract all air, or re-cycles any then they heat up very very quickly!!
Perhaps the game titles have a lot to do with it.

Why? Because of the PS5? Nah EB will be offering another deal similar to this where you trade the Pro towards the PS5 for only $XX And in a lot of cases keep the PS$ Pro for another room or the kids.

In my case they didn't even power it on, doubt they actually would have the time to test them. They do get your drivers lic, but assume that is incase it's stolen.
@Heckenberg, this has not been posted on the EB webiste. We just called a local store (Narellan) and they are not aware of this deal. We were trying to get a price on what the trade in would be for a 500gb PS4. Any idea if this deal is Nation wide, and if so, how would we get a quote from the Narellan store?
Not sure why they wouldn’t know about the deal. EB Games is now advertising it on their Facebook page. It does mention to see in-store for details, so possibly won’t be going live on website.

I managed to trade my busted ass old ps4 last time they had this deal. Very glad they didn't try to test it out in store.

Question. Do you keep your games downloaded to your profile? Ie online games?
I would assume you can download the games again once you log into your profile on the new PS4. However, you may want to look into saving/transferring your progression in these games.
Yes they are bound to your PSN account. Before you trade in I would recommend:
1) Backup your save games - either to PSN online or USB key.
2) Log out of and format your PS4, there are docs online for this, takes 30 mins.
