        • Yes you can!

          -Aidan

  • if i order today, will i get the sim by friday via standard shipping? located in liverpool.
    thanks

    • Hey whoopdeedoo,

We will be very busy over the next week so I would highly recommend you get express postage.

We always prioritise express deliveries over standard during promotions like this.

      -Aidan

  • Bought for my NZ trip start of year on short notice, was worried as other vendors are misleading with their delivery times. Express arrived spot-on, and set-up at NZ was easy. Coverage + speed was great too. Just bought for my NZ trip next yr! Great work guys, keep it up, hope to be buying many more times in future!

    • What network though? For NZ mainly 4g or 3g

      Trip coming up in December.

Would this be cheaper than buying one locally there under Vodafone NZ?

2 degrees network has bad reviews. Not sure if I should get one please advise

      • The NZ SIMs are on the 2degrees network.

I would recommend that you check the coverage here

Put in the places you are going to and check if they have 3G or 4G reception in that area.

If it's not sufficient, then your best bet will be Vodafone NZ or Spark Mobile - but these SIMs will definitely be more expensive to buy (non-discounted).

        Hope that helps!

        -Aidan

    • Hey sola!

Thanks heaps for the return purchase! I'm glad it worked smoothly for you :)

Hopefully, we will be able to help you out on all your future adventures overseas!

      -Aidan

  • Omg perfect ! Ordered one for China one off SE Asia and one for Europe

    • Thanks for the purchase and support Shyguy <3

  • Hi, what do you recommend for 40days travelling to Malaysia and India?

    • Hey powergirl,

How many days are you staying in each?

      -Aidan

      • Will be staying a week in India and 33 days in Malaysia

  • For the Japan 15days, JustSim is $30 incl 8 gb.

    • Hey yht,

Our SIM is the exact same product at the same price, the bonus data is also included with our Japan SIM card :)

      I've updated the website!

      -Aidan

      • Hi Aidan,
Thank you for doing that. The data has been changed from 6 to 8gb, but the price ends up to $33.75, which is still a bit more expensive than JustSim. Anyway to beat their price ?

  • Can also vouch, bought a couple for a euro trip recently and worked very well

    • Thanks for the feedback mimic :)

  • Any for Canada? Going for three weeks, and would need two.

Also anyone on the fence about these guys… they’re awesome. Used their Europe card for Singapore and Holland. Fast delivery, easy instructions. Very happy.

    • I have 2 options for you:

      3GB/30 Days
      6GB/15 Days

Thanks heaps for the positive feedback and let me know if you have any more questions :)

      -Aidan

  • I always come and post about how good these guys are - more so so I can look back and remember who I use for my annual pilgrimage overseas.

I tend to Google "travel sims" when trying to search - just some info for the business.

    Cheers.

    • Hey guybrush!

Haha, thanks for the support <3

Hope to be able to help you out in 2020 ;)

      -Aidan

Any deal for South Korea ? I am planning to travel there next April about 2-3weeks.

  • I'm in NZ at the moment using this SIM card from the previous deal. Be aware that the network isn't available while you're driving in between towns so download offline maps if you're using it for navigation.

    • Thanks for the advice orly!

Maps.me is also a useful app for offline maps for anyone interested.

      -Aidan

  • Do you have something for Vanuatu?

    • Nothing for Vanuatu unfortunately! :(

  • Hi rep for NZ what network does your Sim card use?

2 degrees network has bad reviews

    • Hey neonlight,

Our NZ SIMs are all on 2degrees.

I would suggest you check the 2degrees coverage map to see what the reception will be like where you are going.

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • Pulled the trigger and decided to buy three of the Europe & UK Travel SIM Card | 71 Countries | 12GB | 30 Days.

Used it in May this year and found it convenient as a one sim card only solution. Overall it was above average.

It was not without issues though.

Had a lot of teething issues getting it to work on my s10. But once up and running, it was fine.

My partner had no issues setting it up on her s9+.

Data coverage in Switzerland was basically non existent. Corroborated by a friend who used it as well.

But am prepared to give it another go for the convenience of one sim and the nice discount.

    • Hey Chumly,

Thanks for your feedback on your experience.

I'm glad the SIM helped out and didn't cause too many issues for you!

It's possible that ThreeUK's network was having outage issues while you were in Switzerland - this can happen from time to time and can be a little unexpected.

Please keep me updated on how you go this time :)

      -Aidan

    • +1

A data point. We used in in Switzerland for 3 weeks across Dec 2018. What we found when in more rural areas was to actively select different roaming carriers and different networks. Often we'd find as the train came into a small town we'd have no or poor coverage (2G) but a quick change of network and selecting a 3G cell did the trick and we were up and running again real quick (we'd just 'hunt and peck' each network provider from the carriers). Worked across 2 phones (Sony Xperia and Samsung S9).

  • Hi Store Rep,

Are there any activation expiry dates on the South East Asia 12 day (travellig Bali Sep 2020) or the Asia 15 day (travelling Korea May 2020)?

    • Also how is the internet speed like in South Korea? What will happen when the 4gb is used up?

      • Internet speeds are 4G in Korea and is quite fast (Internet in Korea is fantastic).

Once the 4GB is used up the SIM will still work but at 128kbps - I basically tell people that once the 4GB is up the SIM is useless because 128kbps will get you nowhere.

        -Aidan

    • Hey Richard,

The expiry dates on both those SIM cards are not until later in 2020 so you will be perfectly fine to use them in Sep/May.

      -Aidan

  • +1

Best to buy 2. I learned the hard way and had to track down one myself and without Google Maps let's say I got lost a few times 😅

    • 😂 Well I'm glad you managed to find your way!

      Thanks for the support!

      -Aidan

  • Used SIM cards from these guys twice for Korea. Worked well 👍

    • ❤️

  • +1

Perfect timing - will be ordering a Europe and China sim card today!

@Rep: Do each of the sim cards have an expiry i.e. needs to be activated by a certain date before it's null & void? If so, would you mind sharing the details? Thanks!

    • Yep, this isn't explained!

    • +2

It's in the product description in the links provided.

      • Legend. Thanks @stoodmaire!

    • +1

      Europe - no expiry date
      China - Expires 31/12/2020

      Hope that helps!

      • Just ordered 2 SIM cards - thanks!

  • Can I buy now but not activate till I arrive in Japan around the 11th of April next year?

    • "Needs to be activated by 31/10/2020"

  • Got a couple of these from simsdirect for my last trip to Japan. Worked well with no issues. Won’t hesitate to use these again for upcoming trips.

    • Thanks Heybargain! 🙏

  • Hi will I be able to use these for April 2020?

    • Hi Riseandfall,

Which SIM are you referring to?

All of our SIMs expire later in the year so you should be fine, just read the product description on our website under 'Things to Know'.

      -Aidan

      • Regarding Europe sim

  • Hello I'm leaving for Japan this Thursday morning. I live in Marrickville, just wondering if I can still get away with the free shipping option and get it by Wednesday. Cheers!

    • +1

      Hye mokkzzz,

I would highly suggest you get express postage as we will be quite busy and express postage gets prioritised.

If you don't want to pay the extra $7.99 we could arrange a pickup from our office in Alexandria (considering you leave so soon).

If you want to organise a pick up just message in on Facebook or Email us and Supriti or Vanesa can organise a pickup with you for this week, if not, I'd go express.

      -Aidan

  • Thanks. Just purchased the Explorer 365 day data sim. Have used in the past and works like a treat.

    • With the Explorer 365 day data sim can you ring Australia from overseas ?

Edit :- Says Data only !!!!

      • +2

Having used this card many times already (I'm a repeat customer), when we need voice we use Skype / whatsapp between family and friends. On the odd occasion we actually need to make a voice call to a landline on the go, we just use skype out (we buy a small amount of credit on the 50% off Woolies / coles promo vouchers i.e $10 goes a long, long way. We just make a 1 second call every 11 months to keep the credit active).

        • Great info - good to know what other people do. Thanks

    • Thanks heaps nonpop 🙌

  • I highly recommend buying sims from this company.

I had no issues with the activation and usage of the sim when I travelled to Japan last year.

You can also tell they pride themselves on customer service and the experience.

I'm buying two more sims for my Japan trip next March/April (cherry blossom season)

    • +1

      Hey Ausdave,

Thanks for the kind words my man, it means a lot to the team!

I might see you over there ;)

      -Aidan

  • For USA, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a local SIM once there?

Seems quite pricey, unless you need the SIM to work once you land.

    • +1

Specific for us, any small price premium comes with convenience benefit (which we value). We like to turn the phone on as wheels down happens. This way we can start to clear email and check traffic etc whilst plane is taxiing to the gate. It is great to be able to book Uber (or equiv) as one grabs bags off the belt vs then needing to go line up for a SIM (especially after a long flight). And a side benefit, it means less flapping about at the SIM counter trying to get the AU fiddly SIM card out and safely stored away especially as I seem to have too many thumbs.

    • You might get lucky and find something, but usually its more expensive to buy when you land simply because of currency conversion.

Our 5GB USA SIM is $23USD, which is a great price with the current promotion.

      Up to you though!

      -Aidan

      • With the USA sims, do i simply insert sim in phone and turn it on and off? Or is there another set up process? Don't want to be mucking around with call centers, which has been previous bad experience.

        • Hey blackwalnut,

All steps to activating are listed in our USA SIM Guide

You can either activate online or by texting GOGO to 6700 when you land - no call centres involved.

          -Aidan

  • 'Unlimited' in USA for $66AUD for 30 days. Slowed after downloading 32GB. With unlimited calls and text local and to Oz. Tethering allowed.

Looks to good to be true. Anyone bought this one before? Were there issues?

    Thanks.

    • That one does seem a great deal.

    • Hey Eeples,

The unlimited SIM is from the same manufacturer as our 5GB USA SIM (Its the exact same SIM except it's unlimited).

So you can check our USA 5GB SIM reviews and go through those to get an idea of what it's like.

      -Aidan

  • We are going to Russia in September 2020 for 3 weeks. Any options for us? Thanks

    • Hey mutnyi2001,

The only option I have for you is our 6GB/15 Day Russia SIM

You would need to get 2 of them to cover your trip - so it might be worth waiting until you land to find something locally if you're looking for the cheapest option. If convenience is what you want then it might be worth getting it sorted before you go.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

      -Aidan

  • Repeat purchaser of the USA 5GB. Great buy and cheaper than in Jan 2019 when I bought it last, thanks! :)

    • Thanks for the support carlenet! And welcome back :)

  • Good to see this deal back. Brought a few for a trip to Europe this year and everything worked perfectly. Will be buying some for SEA over Christmas.

    • Awesome! Thanks for the purchase Nerv :)

  • @OP - assuming for the Asia SIM Card there is nothing that needs to be done as you move between countries - and that if you go back to one of the countries there is no issue there?
    Cheers

    • +2

Past experience no issues. We do nothing and it just roams happily once it is first activated. Seamless. On the odd occasion where there is no service or speed drops to 2G, either do an airplane mode and back on, or just hunt and peck from the network providers and see if a manual change is accepted (this process works with any roaming situation as we sometimes need to do it with the Telstra $10 / day roaming as well).

    • +1

      Hey Miso,

With the Asia SIM, all you need to do is have 'Data Roaming' enabled in your mobile phones settings. The SIM will automatically switch over to the new network when you land.

If it doesn't do it right away, you can give your phone a restart and that will kick it into gear.

      Hope that helps!

      -Aidan

  • If I purchase two of the European sims and they have English Phone numbers, but you're only able to call Europe from Europe, are they able to call each other ?

    • Hey Geek Girl,

Yes the SIMs will be able to call each other nor worries at all.

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,

Does Whatsapp work with the Japan data-only SIM? I read you need to verify your phone number and that's not possible with a data-only SIM.

    • +2

If you already have WhatsApp installed and verified with your Australian number, it should continue to work however you're connected to the internet; people can message you via your Australian number.

Only caveat is be careful about uninstalling or clearing the data from the app, as you will need to reverify by getting a message to your Australian number.

      • Thanks jh89. Much appreciated.

      • That's correct ^

  • It would be really cool if you guys had an interactive map where you could click on the country and it told you what sim deals you had that covered the country.

Or even a spreadsheet that could be filtered by country to tell you what is available.

    Or maybe there already is…

    • +1

      That's actually a great idea!

We are looking into ways of improving our website and the usability - this could be something we look into in the future.

      -Aidan

  • Can I buy it now and use it in next easter?

    • Hey moelsa,

Yep, you sure can! All of our SIMs don't expire until after that date so you can buy it now and hold onto it until you travel mid next year :)

Let me know if you have any more questions!

      -Aidan

  • Can I access to Google, Youtube and etc using this sim card in China?

    • Hey Moelsa,

Yes, you can! The China SIMs have an in-built VPN via (HongKong) so you can access all western apps.

      -Aidan

  • Hello! I am travelling to the US and like the sound of the USA Unlimited 30 Day Travel SIM Card. As part of the trip, we're doing a 7 day Mexican cruise. Are you able to advise if the sim will work in Mexico? The 'things to know' section of the page says 'works in USA & Hawaii (Does not include Alaska or Canada)', I assume if it doesn't work in Canada or Alaska it won't work in Mexico, but could you confirm? Thanks in advance!

    • Hey Jeka,

It does not work in Mexico unfortunately.

If you were to grab the unlimited SIM you may need to find something locally in Mexico for the 7 days.

      Wish I could help!

      -Aidan

  • Hi rep,
I have booked a cruise next year to go around New Zealand would the NZ sims all work on the ship?
    Thanks

    • +1

      Hey Crazeyeyez,

The SIM works off local towers on land. So once you are out at seas the reception will be worse the further you go.

You will get full reception at any ports/docks but out at sea your only option is on-board wifi (this is expensive so be careful!)

      Hope that helps :)

      -Aidan

  • Have used their SIMS every time I travel since they first started. Fast delivery and they have always worked flawlessly. Just bought 2 more for a trip early next year. I highly recommend these guys.

    • Thanks Chaser!

Good to see you back ;)

      -Aidan
