You should remove the neg mate. It's not valid.
These are decent quality, been using 2-3 of them for going on 5 years now without any problems. At this price it's worth the few dollars extra for the active converter

I have the USB-C to DP adapter from this brand (to use on Macbook Pro), definitely better quality/reliability (doesn't randomly 'turn off') than the cheapo ones.
Heaps of DP to HDMI converters on eBay for under $10.
I brought mini DP to hdmi, vga, dvi (3 in 1) for $18
