Previous model yes. Unsure when or if they discontinued this model. But $549 vs $899 is an easy choice for me.
Good price with the filter. I bought one of these recently for $525 from Dyson.com.au (some corporate discount they offered) and have been very happy with it. Sure the HP04 is the newer one with 360 degree rotation, but at significantly more, I failed to see the improved features to be worthwhile.
That being said one thing I would note is that the Dyson air purifiers aren't that powerful in terms of CADR vs. traditional air purifiers. Dyson uploaded a video before showing their air purifiers are more effective at keeping dust from being spread out hence CADR isn't that important, but I definitely don't feel the same sense of 'cleanliness' with the HP03 as when I used dedicated and cheaper Sharp air purifiers which could clean the whole room (but lacked rotation, fan, app support, etc)… and was much noisier too.
How are these compared to a good air purifier?
