Looks like a good deal if you don't mind the colour.

In the long run, and if you use your sodastream a lot then then cheapest way is to purchase one each of these:

The last one you can use to refill an existing original cylinder but it is a bit finicky since SS changed their bottle design. I could never get it to work so I just bought a compatible cylinder that fills with zero issue.
The last thing you could do is not buy a replacement cylinder and filling adapter and instead purchase one of these things that you can then keep connected the whole time.

The last option though depends on where the SS unit will be kept and whether you can keep the CO2 cylinder out of sight. Some people don't mind it as its in their garage, others manage to hide it away.
Or just buy a genuine cylinder and keep paying the high prices to replace. All depends on how much you use a SS at the end of the day.
Super helpful - cheers. Didn't know about these bottles / adaptors

https://www.kegland.com.au/freedomone-sodastream-adapter-hos…That's exactly what I did. 2.6kg bottle under the bench with the hose going up to a SodaStream Play just like this one. Lasts me 6 months and I do 4-8 bottles per week.
The direct refill idea is not a bas solution either, but I'm happy only having to swap the bottle twice a year
Just be mindful this only has a starter cylinder, normally only 40L. You then need to pay the refill price ($19) to upgrade it to a full 60L
Often on sale at Spotlight for $14 if you have one of those stores near you

Kegland also have non-genuine cartridges:

Recently I purchased the 2.6kg cylinder + adapter hose from Kegland, great service and super quick delivery.
I’ve found the soda king bottles are easier to refill, the have the bigger valve on top.
Are these compatible with SodaStream?
Yes
Has any one tried there zero sugar lemon? I'm currently drinking Kirks Zero Sugar Lemon @$6.20/10x365ml cans or Zero Solo Lemon when it's on special. Just wondering if they compare in taste?
Regardsjust had a struggle exchanging 40L for 60L at Big W, until I found this on the SodaStream site
Last section,
40L refill cylinders are unavailable. If you have a current model machine then it will be compatible with both the 40L and 60L and your 40L CO2 cylinder can be exchanged for a 60L CO2 cylinder at all SodaStream stockists.
Showed this to the Cashier and they swapped it out by taking the new 60L cylinder from the box, scanning it as the returned one and then the box it was in as the new one. As scanning the 40L doesn't come up on their system.
Is this the cheapest way to get a spare gas cylinder?
