  • Anyone cruised with a young family (3 under 8yrs old?) before?

    • -1

Royal carribean is more catering to the younger population than some of the other cruise liners. There will be a kids corner sort of thing where you can relegate yourselves from the kids (unsure if free but should be). They can't exactly run away because they will still be on the cruise ship somewhere, but unless you have enough adults to look after the kids, and the adults have cruised before, I would suggest something else. (Imagine if the adults are sick, who is left to look after the little ones?)

    • unless you go ovation of the seas under 3's do not have any child care services

Seeing as it is 100,000 per booking. Can you book a twin share room, only paying 1 person then have the other make a booking in same room getting 100,000?

I guess you have to buy 2x when making the booking but eh, $500

    • Would also be interested in this hack

Actually, does not quite work as the price more than doubles when booking 1 person

        • Thanks for checking! Guess you can't book a double room unless you book two people haha

          • @knobbs: Yeah unfortunately cruises are always booked in as twin share, hence why I wrote twin share in my post. Single means less money spent on other things so price just hikes up.

  • You are better off to convert to 50k velocity points when they have 15% bonus on transfer points.
50k velocity can get you one way business class to Asia cities which usually costs around 3k or more.

    • Velocity points are harder to gauge their value whereas the flybuys is a set amount for everyone.

Business class flights may be nice but some people just don’t fly, or prefer economy (idk why)

  • Can this be stacked with RCCL's current promotion of up to 50%off each second guest and kids sail from $19/day?

    • Judging by the prices, it doesn't look like it stacks. In fact, I can't see where you can select a cabin for 4 pax.
If 2 ppl are travelling, then the prices for some dates are very good after taking 100K points into account. And you will also earn at least 2x flybuy point per $.
If you are travelling with kids and want quad cabin, then you will be better off booking with RCCL directly or some other agent.

Interesting. I have two different flybuys cards and if I was to travel I would book 2 cabins (family of 5). This could work out alright..

    • Interior rooms are suited more for young travellers, but you may wish to get an exterior room for fresh air and to see the water. I think royal Caribbean has screens that simulate the outside but it’s a different experience. Reason I said that for interior rooms is those who spend little time in their rooms.

    • Yeah I just booked two cabins with connecting rooms, not exactly dirt cheap $4252 for 4 of us, but got rooms on level 8, and 219000 flybuys points, so works out well. Much cheaper than A quad through the current royal Caribbean promotions.

Looking forward to cruising from Brisbane, with two kids, cruises are so much more relaxing thank a typical holiday… Love kids clubs. The radiance undergoing upgrades too prior to Brisbane commencing.

Interesting they displayed at $970, I think gratuities included so bumps it up a bit ($1063 p.p). Needed to book at that rate to guarantee rooms next to each other and connecting
