  • \Important Announcement /

We have received an email from Village Roadshow Theme Parks notifying us that the offer that was posted on 17/04/2025 is 'only valid if you are an RACQ member. We are getting guests trying to book in on this and being told no at check in time as they are not RACQ members.'

(This is a direct quote from the support ticket. They have not provided us with a link to their terms and conditions of the discount code).

Reports from Ozbargain community members also indicate that you must prove your membership at the reception desk when checking in.

Presumably the $5 RACQ Lifestyle membership will suffice…

      https://www.racq.com.au/membership/lifestyle#overview

      • definitely. Offer code is listed/accessible through one of those logins (just did one to add to a booking, $5 is cheap 'insurance')

      • if you have family of 5 adult siblighs, do you need individual membership or one will suffice?

  • -1

    So cheap!

  • +6

That is cheaper than buying tickets for everyone isn't it? As a local you might as well stay there for the breakfast for free and get discounted tickets lol?

    • +2

Yeah it's ridiculous. $129 per person for a single day visit

  • +2

Valid for stays until 19 September 2024

    • 2025

      • Stay, Play and Save for 4
Stay, Play & Save from $299 per night for up to 4 people. Package includes daily buffet breakfast and UNLIMITED entry to Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet'n'Wild & Paradise Country during your stay. Valid for stays until 19 September 2024

        It has both.

        • Ha! Missed that! Classic

          • @leeroys_dad: After being burnt with these packages.. I try to read the fine print.. Same as groupon coupons

            • +1

@raj76: I think the 2024 in promo message is an oversight. T&C fully up to date and a new package only appearing within the last few days or so. I think we're good!

  • Went a few years ago (in December I think) and the buffet line was massive every morning.

Hotel and theme parks felt dated but still good value IMO.

    • +15

      every morning

      Impromptu ozbargain meetup

    • +1

Trick is to arrive 5 mins prior to opening - get your table - order your barista coffees via the app - quickly fill up two plates at the pancake machine.. then relax while the queue builds to the front door.

  • +2

One issue - you only get 1 room. So if you have a family of 4, are you really happy to all stay in the one room? If so or for lesser numbers staying, this could be the deal for you.

    • For young family it should be alright?

      • I don't know about you but the annoying part of this for me is youngest sleeps 10+ hours … a long time just hanging out being quiet in the same room when I only sleep 6-7

    • +26

Enjoy the kids while they still want to hang out with you.

      • +1

Thanks, used this as justification to my wife and it worked 😁

  • +3

Weather in sept had been rainy last 2 years but still able to go theme parks but allot of rides where closed

  • +1

Can't remember, but is it the case say you stay one night, you get the day you check-in and the day you check-out as included days at the theme parks?

    • +4

      Yep. That is the case.

  • +5

Worth remembering you get 2 days of theme parks from a one night stay. The day arriving and the day leaving

    • Thanks I was wondering about if it’s two days or one for a one night stay!

    • +6

For true ozb potential book every 2nd night?

      • Yearly pass is cheaper

      • +5

and sleep on park benches the night between

    • +2

Just wondering lets say you are staying one night, and want to go to Movie world on the way down there. How do you get the passes to do that? I heard from someone that you could call the hotel and they would send you the pass. Can anyone confirm there experience with this?

Update, Just noticed from my reciept they sent to my email. Its written that they send an online checkin 3 days before your stay. Hopefully that will prompt a ticket/pass thingy.

  • Can someone explain the unlimited park access? For example, if I stay there for 1 night on 18/04/2025 (purely an example). Does that mean I can enjoy the park 19/04/2025 during the day or am I cut off and I was meant to only go to the parks on 18/04/2025?

    • -2

Same question I had. Do we get to go their as many times as we want for the rest of our lives?

    • +6

We bought this couple of years back. So you go check in right before the door theme park door open 10AM?, they will give you the tickets to the theme parks for both check in and check out days. Leave your luggage to the reception and go enjoy the theme park. Come back in the afternoon after 3 to go to your room. Next morning enjoy your breakfast then go theme parks again!

      • Is there luggage storage after checkout?

    • +2

Stay one night and you can use theme park tickets on the day you checkin and day of checkout.

Went there last year. Arrive in the morning, kept luggage in cloak room, collected tickets and went to sea world while they got the room ready.

Next day checked out and went to wet n wild + movie world

  • Also wondering how the theme park access on "day of arrival" works.

When are you given the theme park tickets? Via email before hand or when you check in? If you can't check in until 2pm or whatever…

    • +3

You can go in and checkin just wont have the room ready. They hand you the tickets for the theme park.

    • +1

When you check in you are provided with the tickets. Even if you arrive before the check in time of 3pm.

      • Just tickets for the day? So if staying multiple days you have to go to reception for tickets every morning?

        • For one night stay tickets are valid for the first and second day. Grab the tickets in the morning and go to Sea World first. Then go to Wet n Wild and Movie World after checking out next morning.

        • No

    • Thx

  • +12

Went sept last year for two nights, sure the buffet line is chockers but it moves. Great value, just booked again for the week of my daughter's bday for 3 nights. $500 for a party somewhere or a grand-ish for accom & rewards flights…..no brainer, her mates can get stuffed.

  • +1

No way in hell am I paying to have my kids stay in the same room as the wife and I when we have a perfectly functional mortgage and separate bedrooms at home.

    • So you rather pay 120 per person?

      • +7

Op would rather pay for this deal twice and put the wife in the other room

    • If locals can you not just get the deal for the tickets to theme parks? You don’t have to stay in the hotel I suppose?

  • Is it a minimum booking for two nights?

      • Click on the 'Dates of Stay' in the progress bar at the top then you can select 1 night by clicking on a date the, then click the day after that. Then click the 'Update Dates of Stay' button. The button looks disabled, but it's just the colour.

        • Excellent. Thanks for that. I managed to book one night in July.

    • +2

      No, just booked one.

      • cannot book one.

      • how to book one night?

        • +1

Not sure, I booked midweek. Maybe certain dates or weekends its a min of 2 nights?

  • What's the weather like in winter?

    • +7

      Warmer than Melbourne

    • +1

I wanted to make a funny comment, but the “just be useful Jeff” got the better of me.

It’s usually still shorts and Ts, but you can get some rain. It doesn’t hamper your trip too much. So, tropical winter kinda vibe.

    • think 21 degrees, not really warm enough for swimming. Would be cold for water slides

    • Whilst it gets coolish, its not cold. You'd want windproof jackets at seaworld near the beach for going up something like the Trident. It's often sunny which is a plus.
One of the best places you could go for year round weather averages really.

    They still torturing sea life?

    • +4

      Name checks out.
But I don't think they serve dolphin at the buffet

      • +2

What no dolphin buffet? I thought that was what SeaWorld was all about.

      • The dolphins “serve” at the buffet, you misread the brochure.

        • +1

As usual, tuna are left to do all the heavy lifting.

    • -1

you don't live in the US mate, Sea World has no affiliation with the American SeaWorld and has never housed orcas and don't share the same issues that you've probably parroted from an American company

      • Oh so the polar bears and dolphins love living in concrete tanks?

        • Just like their human counterparts, 4 to a tank.

        • +1

Not sure about the polar bears (which they justify as ambassador animals to raise awareness of conservation), but seen as though you spoke about sea life, a lot of the dolphins (and other sea life) are rescued from injury / fishing entanglements etc, or raised from breeding programmes including with rescue animals. Having been there about 40+ times and paid to go behind the scenes and meet dolphins etc, they actually seem to love it. I've seen some dodgy stuff overseas but not here.
PS - the dolphins are not in a concrete tank, the water was there and much of seaworld was built with reclaimed land around it.

They live better than most people. Have a read if you are that interested - https://seaworld.com.au/animals/welfare-wise

Otherwise, please go somewhere else. This post is for people who like seaworld, seaword!

  • Double beds for four people.

    Need to be queen minimum.

Anyone want to come with me?

    • +1

      You pay? Send pics.

We stayed there late last year. Our young ones are early birds so we were normally ready at 6am for the buffet breakfeast, no queue at that time.
As recommended on here we stayed in 1 of the renovated rooms (all though the reno still looks years old), the bathroom has bloody low ceilings and the ventilation is horrible, poor cleaners would constantly be dealing with bathroom stench, other than that room was fine. We didn't get a chance to eat at the Japanese restaurant but all the other evening food was average, like the burger patty was like those mass produced patty you expect at a Lyons club BBQ.

Overall for the price and convenience it was worth it

  • -5

    chopper ride included?

  • Any cost to change dates?

  • Any school holiday blockouts?

    • Doesn't look like it

    • just the price a bit higher (nortorious surcharge), that's all

  • Decent deal but it seems like Google Reviews complain a lot about cockroaches at this resort. Worth it to book for the tickets though

    • +2

They are the big outdoors ones. Not the “we live under your fridge” kind. Sometimes they tailgate and follow you into the room. Generally they are polite and can be a bonus at the buffet to collect a dropped potato gem.

  • This place is so run down don't do it

  • It's a very good deal. but how long it will run the deal? Don't wanna book too early now for Aug-Sept just in case there might be something will jump out

  • Perfect, booked in for next weekend.

  • Over 5,000 clicks so far… Sea World about to be swarmed by ozbargainers lol

  • Damn, I booked a week ago for $299 a night, I wonder if they'll add the discount if I call.

  • +2

We've stayed here heaps over the past 30yrs. My advice is never pick the cheapest ($254) room. It's an old resort now with many old musty mouldy 'budget' rooms usually located in the noisy areas (pools, etc) and are unpleasant to stay in. We were disappointed with our rooms more times than not here. Pay a little for an upgraded room and it can make or break your holiday. Also, I can remember in the 2000's when these cheap room deals with park entry could be had from just $120/night!!
PS. Thanks for the heads-up OP, can't pass up a few days at these prices.

    • We have don’t this for many years. The upgrade is always worth it.

    • Can you walk to many places? how's the beach, and are there good restaurants nearby?

      • +1

Seaworld resort is located out on the Spit, so it’s pretty isolated from the main commercial/resturant hub. There is a group of restaurants/shops down the road a bit beside Sheraton Mirage resort, but it would be a long-ish walk. There is a patrolled beach at ‘The Spit’ up and across the road in walking distance though.

      • The old wharf precinct is probably a re-re-re-redeveloped mess but shouldn’t be more than a 20minute walk or so down the bike path to a seafood restaurant.
You’re probably better off sussing out the bus stop in the SeaWorld carpark and heading to Surfers Paradise then jump on the tram/light rail to explore up and down the coast .
The buses may have 50c fares but you’ll need a tran$card of some sort, dunno about the trolley.
Otherwise hike along the beach is probably nearly an hour to Mainbeach shops/restaurants precinct, or a way further hike to Surfers Paradise.
Nothing really at the Spit but SeaWorld and maybe an ice cream shop at the very end, some carparks and a walk out along a rockwall,
For any super keen surfers out there,
the real bonus is the paddle over to TOS .

        • +1

No longer need the Translink card, you can tap on and off with a paywave credit card (or phone). 50c flate rates fares on the Gold Coast

          • @plastic spoon: Are the fares 50c on light rail too?
I thought they wouldn’t drop the fare on their new toys..

            • +1

@beach bum: Yes, 50c per journey.

Can even get a bus from the airport then hop on a tram.

Trams are all newer, very nice!

    • +1

Which room would you recommend to upgrade to for best bank for buck?

  • So good. Thanks

  • Booked it for the july school holidays….. rooms are now over 400++ bucks depending on what you pick….still looks like a good deal

  • Can anyone recommend, what is the best course of action ( to avail this offer) for a family of six? It says on two different places $85 & $65 per extra child. Do they upgrade your room to bigger rooms in that case? Any ideas?

Also how hard / enjoyable it is for kids during winter .. around June?
    Thx in advance

    • +1

Possibly the best time of year to go

    • Also how strict they are with number of family members staying in the room/ stays, if we buy seperate tickets for entry into theme parks for two additional children?

  • Hi! I saw that you can pay an extra $85 per child/person, which would make it 5 people in total. I was thinking of using this deal for myself, my husband, my parents, and my 3-year-old to visit the theme park (my parents live on the Gold Coast so we wouldn't need accommodation).

I also have a 1-year-old—can I bring her along for free? I understand kids under 3 are free when accompanied by a paying adult, but I just wanted to confirm: under this deal, are we considered "paying adults" even though it's a special offer?

    Thanks so much!

  • Let’s see how many ozbargainers go solo or as a couple and are out the front of the ticket booth selling off the extra entry passes.
