  • Let’s see how many ozbargainers go solo or as a couple and are out the front of the ticket booth selling off the extra entry passes.

  • +2

@leeroys_dad was this coupon given via racq? According to reception, you have to show membership when checking in

    • you could join RACQ on the spot for $89 if necessary (depending on how long you are staying and assuming $89 is less than the amount you’d save)

    • +5

I was also worried in the event reception asks for RACQ membership for use of the code. Managed to get a RACQ lifestyle membership for only $5 a year directly on the RACQ website
I also turned off direct debit to stop the yearly RACQ renewal because I only need membership for the stay.
      Thanks OP - great deal!

      • +1

Thank you sir. That did it for me. PSA: management is aware and will be requesting RACQ membership at check in or you will lose the discount.

          Who tattled?

      • If this is correct then the deal should be marked as targeted! It says on that page if you have an RACQ bank account you also get the benefits. It doesn’t cost anything to open a bank account with them. ($0 monthly fees it says)

    • I can't see anything in the T&Cs mentioning RACQ, did you see this somewhere or did you contact them to ask?

      • Nothing in T&Cs, but they mentioned to show RACQ membership at check in as the coupon code used is only valid for RACQ members

  • Looks like this is an annual deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854146

I wonder if you get there early enough you can get the buffet breakfast first day as well?

    • +1

      Serious question?

C'mon - what hotel is going to allow you to go and enjoy a free breakfast on their behalf prior to your actual stay….

  • The flights become expensive. Great deal for locals though. Jetstar seem to be cheapest but no cashrewards

Question. Can we use TCN Kids Gift card to pay for this? if so, will save another 10%. Coles Express is running the GC sale.

    • Does the Kids card say it includes village roadshow?
The charge came up on my card as village roadshow so I think you can if it lists village roadshow.

    • checkout doesnt allow gift cards, only credit cards..

does the gift card give out visa/mastercard numbers once converted?

  • Anyone have any tips for transport?
Do people rent cars for a few days to get from the resort to the other parks?

I hear the resort is really isolated only next to sea world, so I'm worried about the hassle of going out each day to the parks via pt.

Price-wise split between four people rental doesn't seem that bad.

I would definitely recommend a hire car if you have kids in tow. Sea World is well away from the main street and ubers will add up to a hire car cost to get into and out of town. Not really taken by the restaurants onsite. Ok for a quick bite but pricey.

      • Is parking included? 4 adults, so 4 cars okay?

        • I think you might register your number plate on booking and they're probably only expecting one but there's no boom gates or anything, you'd just be risking that they monitor and tow if they don't recognise the plate

        • Parking is wherever you can find space onsite (free). Often the car park is full so have to park along the main street (also free) but pack an umbrella as sometimes its a 100m + walk.

No registration required as there are no reserved spots for guests

      • uber too expensive?

        • All the other theme parks are 30-40 km out the back of the gold coast up the highway to Brisbane so you’ll have to factor this in.
A bus would likely take an hour with stops unless there’s an express and although the fare may be cheap, you will have to get a tran$card set up .
But that will allow you to use the new light rail they have along the beaches and buses and trains all over SEQ,
which is definitely worth it while fares are 50c
          (excluding light rail)
if you’re here for any amount of time.

    • Hiring a car is your best bet. The theme parks aren't close and you'll love the flexibility of just jumping on the car.

  • What if we are a family of 5, with our youngest only two? Surely she's free as T&C's say "extra person or child over three" or is that a BOLD assumption?? Cheers

      Makes sense to me

  • Was about to book 1-5 June and looks like 2-8 June rooms are all booked out suddenly, even though they were free yesterday.
Anyone know why that could be the case?
Ozbargained seems kinda weird for no room options at all and those weird dates.

  • Booked for August, 3 nights.
Came in just under $300 for a studio room, including a saturday night.

hoping scooby-doo is reopened by then at MW.

are tickets digital these days? or are they a physical ticket?

    • min is 254/day even for 2 pax, how you got $100/day?

      • They would be referring to per night rate I think

      • Yeah, 300 per night aorry.
The extra for the studio room with kitchenette and weekend rate

    • Stayed last year and the tickets were physical.

    • Digital, can add to Google wallet or apple wallet or the village theme parks app.

Does anyone know if they're accepting interstate RACQ equivalent membership like RAA?

  • do they allow park entry for both days if booking for 1 night, any idea?

    • +4

Yes, they will email e-tickets the day before check in and you can go to any theme park on both days. My tip is check in online, then park in the resort car park which is further down the road and leave bags with concierge. Then you can enter via the resort entrance. They will sms when the room is ready.

idea is you should read the comments…

  • Seems like the code FORYOU doesn't work anymore?
It says it can't find the code.

    • +2

      Check your RACQ benefits page

      • Worked. Thanks!

  • The code does not work. Can someone please explain to me how you managed it? thanks

    • +1

      Check your RACQ benefits page

Checking RACQ rewards, code has changed to something that may or may not be account specific (RACQSW***)
Pay the $5 to join RACQ rewards if you intend on taking up the deal.

    • TBH that new code doesn't look personalised

    • -1

Thanks! Joined for $5 and used the new code.
      Booked a studio room.

I hope they don't give me a room with those connecting doors.

  • Anyone know how to book interconnecting rooms? We are a family of 8 so will need 2 rooms - website says "Interconnecting rooms available". I am guessing I book and then request them as there doesn't appear to be an option in the booking process.

    • They’re called “Family” rooms. Scroll down in the room list and you should see them.
