    • Same here, just bought another one to use as a media center.

      • what link are you guys going to and what aff code are you using? I keep getting aff code no longer valid.

        • Yeah I'm getting the same issue if any one in vic has one or are willing to post I'd love to get my hands on one

        • Yeah I'm getting the same issue if any one in vic has one or are willing to post I'd love to get my hands on one

  • I am in Melbourne and I just couldn't jump to buy one before collecting some info. Now I am really looking to get one or two. So if any one is thinking that to have four or five is a bit more than he really needs, please let me know!

  • Just checked my credit card statement and it shows payment was made. Now I can't see HP pulling out of the deal because the employee affiliate code was used by the general public. I can see a lot of you guys now waiting for deals on hard drives to fill up the empty slots :)

  • I have been looking around for the Hitachi 3TB 5400 rev drives, but have not found them in Australia yet.

  • Damn. Just checked the status of my order via https://h20497.www2.hp.com/os/simpleView.tcl, and its showing up as CANCELLED. (I ordered two). I'd received an order confirmation too. Good thing I hadn't bought any memory or new hdd's yet!

    • Had they charged your credit card?

      • Unsure, not silly enough to use internet banking on my current internet connection. According to a thread about these boxes on OCAU, HP have said they're going to honour orders up to SCPO313416. If your number is before that, you're apparently OK.

        • Don't think that is true as mine is SCPO3132xx and it had been cancelled :(, they did charged my credit card.

        • Crap, mine was SCPO3139xx, and I received an HP order number as well, and a delivery date of 14 July. I just noticed the delivery date has been updated by HP to "date will follow". I only ordered 1, and hopefuly as I ordered to a work address that actually uses HP gear they will allow it.

        • I ordered 3 units and this morning it is showing as cancelled.

        • My number is above SCPO313416 so it is not entirely true

          I ordered only one
          Status: Admin,
Delivery date changed to "Date will follow"
My credit card has been charged

    • what was your order number?

      • Don't know about the number sequence because there have been people with order # greater than SCPO313985 have been approved … and also people less than SCPO313416 been cancelled

        • You go into a random draw I supposed.

  • I got one! Yay. Anyway, I reckon 2gb of ram will suffice, how do i go about asking whether anyone in eastern melbourne wants to sell me there 1gb stick cheap when they upgrade? Not sure if this is allowed here or not. Gotta be a few of you going to upgrade I am guessing.
I will start a thread in the Buying and Selling Forums. I only want 1 x 1gb of ram, and given the bargain side of things, obviously cheap and close to where I am (SE Melbourne). I am happy for others to offer or try to buy related stuff from other areas as once I get my ram I am happy.
Let me know what you think.

OK on hold until I find out whether I got one. many people might be in the same boat.

Fingers crossed that they don't cancel orders for the people who weren't greedy.
First batch of orders they should cancel are those that ordered more than a few.

Perhaps knowing that the deal would be popular it might have been a reasonable idea to set a restriction on the number of units per address. (Especially as HP knew from the last batch how popular these were.)

I guess that would have required using commonsense.
People ordering 60 should be taken out and shot, or dobbed into the tax man and had an additional "2000% wanker tax" applied.

    • +1

Indeed. It'd be one thing to miss out but I've ordered and I am making plans in my head for the 2 boxes I got. I want to practice clustering and virtualisation and voip and all sorts of stuff. They're good learning tools due to the price and form factor. I /really/ hope they don't cancel my order. Too many fun plans. 8(

    • amen to everything you said.

  • Rats order got cancelled.

  • hmmm mines showing up as 'No orders found'

yet they charged my credit card

    • month/day/year

      • oh day second … got ya :)

        Delivery date: date will follow

        Item status: Admin

  • Mine is still showing status "Admin".

  • Mine's saying "date to follow" & "Admin" (last updated today).

For the people that have cancelled orders, did you by chance order more than one?

I only ordered one, so I'm thinking that might make a difference….. please god.

    • Mine was cancelled, and yes I ordered 2. Not for ebay purposes mind you… I wanted to put one in at my parents business… not that my motivations matter :) Will be interesting if they just nuked all orders of more than 1 device. Although disappointed, I will take comfort in the fact that the dickheads who were ordering 10, 60, etc will not get theirs either.

  • If your status shows Admin, you are pretty safe. It seems that they only cancelled those that ordered more than 1, but I have read a guy who had bought 10 and after he rang HP yesterday they have honored his order.

    • I have SCPO3134xx with order qty 1 showing:
Ship/Invoice/Summarized Status: not shipped / not invoiced / Admin
What HP's problem is I can not see. They are obviously OK to sell at this price (in the UK you even get 100GBP back on top of that price up to a maximum of 5 units).

  • It makes me wonder about the HP online automated ordering system. It seems to not connect the inventory levels with orders.
I accept that some basic ordering systems at small retailers cannot do this, so the retailers do not charge the customer until they fulfill the order.
I hope I am wrong and HP is not acting like the more dodgy sites , by taking lots of order regardless of inventory, charging everyone whther they have it or not, then bailing on delivery.

    • Would be cool if I can write a script to go through their ordering status site page and collect all data for this item for yesterday's orders from e.g. SCPO313xxx to SCPO314xxx. Then we would not be guessing and asking :)

  • I don't really care about receiving the servers or not but principally, if this is how HP wants to treat a customer, then I have no problems striking HP off our preferred vendor's list.

    • The problem for hp is sorting the wheat from the chaff. It is valid for genuine end user customers to want a batch of 10 of these, but at the same time there are brodens. So they can't win either way. At least with the tech at work code they were making it clear, but I guess this is "work" for brodens. They should get a real job I reckon.

So I'm picking this offer got brodened rather than ozbargained.

      • From my (purely commercial)persepctive there is no wheat and chaff. There is XXX number of units, and you take orders until you have sold XXX units, and then you don't take any more orders. Everyones' dollars are the same.
If you wanted to have a wheat and chaff style arranegment, then you put in the T&C's that this is restricted to e.g. 1 or 2 per person, personal sales, corporate orders only etc. Then you release some and sort through the orders.

I only ordered 1, as did many people here. If you take my order, take my money, issue an order and email confirming, then you better deliver. Otherwise HP have to admit to stuffing it up.

        • +4

I guessed they want to make 60 customer happy (who ordered 1) rather than leave 60 customer upset and 1 happy customer who ordered 60 units.

      • +1

At least let us all know what your "Brodens" word means :-/

        • He means people buying excessive quantities to re-sell at a profit, rather than for personal/business use.

        • Pretty sure he's an actual member here…. username Broden. Is notorius for 'wrecking it' for everyone else by ordering large quantities and reselling them later. People miss out because of people like him, but at the end of the day that's his 'job'. He makes money by being a middle man, and unless the websites start doing business smarter by setting limits on not only quantities, but also on delivery addresses (to prevent people multi ordering) "Broden's" will continue to exist.

        • Had me stumped, googletron:

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/broden

      • True, but I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to order 3 like I did. For example, 1 primary NAS and another as a backup, plus another for a friend.

To simply cancel the order without explanation is distasteful, especially when there were no stated terms and conditions on the sale.

  • For some reason, my order says:

    Order Date: 12-Jul-2011

Which is not true, I ordered on the 13th of July!

Anyway, I ordered two, my order does not say admin or cancelled, it just says 'Submitted'

  • -3

This has been a total waste of time venture. I have bought dozen of HP high end printers for work and was giving these microserver a try and was thinking of using it for VOIP and NAS to serve the business + one spare for home + two for some unfortunate that could not get in early, but leave with a sour experience.

  • I called them then, advised my order was cancelled, and that they were cross-checking the emails against the list of ppl who registered for whatever this tech@work thing was.

    • damn.

if that's the case and they are crosschecking emails for registered "tech at work", then NO BODY is getting their order :(.

  • got the confirmation email a few mins ago. The cancellations are go.

    Dear xxxxxxxxxxx,

We regret to inform you that your order SCPO31341x has been cancelled.
For more information regarding the reason for the cancellation, feel free to call us at 13 23 47 (option 2).

    Regards,
    Hewlett-Packard

    • Have they given you a refund?

      • Nope, but technically its just an auth hold of funds that online businesses use for CC purchases. Can take up to 7days for funds to be released :(

  • +1

Cheapest price on staticice currently is $235 incl. free shipping from cworld.com.au.
    http://www.cworld.com.au/product_info.php?ID=175014
So people who want to flock off on ebay will have very little margin (if at all after ebay/paypal/posting).

    • lol thats not how ebay works all the time mate. do a completed items search on this item and you'll see what I mean - plenty paying over $300 plus post.

      • -1

And your point is? If people on ebay are silly enough to shell out $300+ on ebay to buy a unit w/o invoice or warranty from a private dude than even buying them at $235 will turn a profit.

        • +2

My point? Im just pointing out that your statement "people who want to flock off on ebay will have very little margin" is not necessarily always true that's all - which is exactly why this deal got brodened.

    • Yeah, you could save all the time and headache by ordering from cworld for $40 more.

  • My order of one (314xxx), submitted through quick checkout around lunchtime has been updated to Admin :)

  • Love the sense of entitlement in these comment threads.

      • me too got the confirmation email.
Mine was booked at 6:20am 13/07, because I had to go to work very early.

    • I just got that too… Does this mean it's on the way and I can start ordering parts I wonder..?

    • got it too for my 3 units =D

      • Just received a confirmation as well

        Whew!!

  • Just got the cancellation email too :(
checked the previous order number to mine on hp site and its "submitted" ok?

interesting, just got off the phone from HP, "apparently" the 'techwrk' code expired in June and the consultant basically said "bad luck, your order cancelled, the offer has expired in June, sorry"
He also said that although order confirmations were emailed, cancellations will be happening.

    My order SCPO3139xx

Anyway to all my other oz-bargainers, i hope HP deliver your new toys.

if anyone has a "spare", i would be interested.

  • Any SCPO314xxx orders confirmed yet?

    • I'm SCPO313xxx, heard nothing.

    • SCPO314XXX here, just got "Thank you for ordering online from the HP store. Your order is currently being processed." email.

    • Low 314xxx here (one unit) confirmed yesterday, and just now got the 'order processing' email.

  • ANOTHER CANCELLED - am trying to find out what their excuse is

  • Cancelled here too.

  • Got this one. I ordered 1 unit at 11am yesterday.

    • I just received this, too. This is in addition to the original order confirmation e-mail. The order status still shows "Admin/Date Will Follow".

      Fingers crossed.

    • Whilst I recived this as well, and am hopefull, a close read does not suggest it means anything other than: "We have not cancelled your order yet".

  • WOOHOO!!!!!

Just got "Currently being processed" confirmation email. Sweet.

  • FFFFUUUUUUUU…. mine was cancelled, and I've just heard from a mate who ordered his 2 hours after I did - his made it through. We both ordered 2 units each.

  • Yeah, I ordered 3 at about 9am yesterday so it sounds like they are releasing stock just for people who ordered 1. I really did need 3 for our 3 branch offices, shame they didn't just restrict it to one per person instead of giving false hope.

  • people in the office here are saying that those who signed up for an account on the HP site have had cancellations and those who didn't sign up for an account are getting theirs processed.

    • interesting….. i didnt sign up either and I'm getting processed.

      what about everyone else?

      • I signed up and I got the HP confirmation email…

    • Yeah, I was a "quick checkout" and got the Processing email just then… 313xxx

    • I signed up and got the confirmation email (see above).

  • yep - mate who's order is going through did the quick checkout (no account).

  • I wonder if it would be worth saying that I am part of their employee awards program if I follow up on my order :o?

  • does the confirmation email actually mean anything? Haven't orders been cancelled after they got that email? FYI I didnt sign up, have a confirmation email but no charge on my CC yet.

  • I signed up with details.
Credit card was charged yesterday for full amount.
HP then cancel the order and say " Credit card verification failed" and that's the reason the order was cancelled.
WTF, How could they get the money if it failed verification????

  • have just found that they've attempted to charge my account for my orders too - they're showing in my MCRD as "pending". I rang HP and they told me to speak to some sales manager, a "Mr Arthur" - who someone then said wasn't there but they'd "call me back" (yes, I'm sure that's going to happen).

  • Well we all got charged on our credit cards. I did.
But do we have the "Your order is currently being processed" email? I haven't got mine yet (SCPO314xxx)

  • Checking a few order numbers above and below mine on the HP site, all the server orders have not been cancelled yet.
Just mine, i did order 3 units, 1 for my office, 1 for home and 1 for a friend.
all the others were qty 1.

  • spoke to a sales lady and was advised there were over 700 units order yesterday and they didnt have enough stock. Refund may take 1-2 weeks! gg!

  • my order number (for 2 servers) is higher than SCPO313416, yet i got the "Your order is currently being processed." email.

edit: just read that the email doesn't mean you won't be cancelled :(

    • I'll put a paw up for the both of them if mine gets cancelled. As I said earlier, these are a great learning aid. So much I could test out and fiddle with with these.

      • noted :)

        • Hey,

Any luck down your end? Mine got cancelled after all this time. Sigh. Giving me a bad taste about HP. :/

  • I recevied this email at 1:08pm today, it looks good to me. I think they are sending them out. I think only the people who ordered too late (or left it in cart/shopping cart for late checkout) will get cancelled orders. Or those who ordered more than qty x1 will get cancelled.

  • i assumed whoever got "Dear Valued Customer" confirmation email did not sign up for an HP account during checkout.

    • Not true, I signed up as did several others further up the thread.

  • Did anyone order with a business address/company name and get the processing email?

    • yes

    • yep ordered with full business address, and got the processing email
