You might be thinking of the BX500 because while this isnt the best deal its definitely not worth negging.
Popular deals for this drive have been around $76 shipped, so can't really see an issue with someone negging a deal where a rep posts it for $97 or ~25% more.
Yeah but that's definitely a far cry from the claim that the 1TB model is usually "a little more expensive".
The cheapest SATA MX500 1TB deal so far was $145 delivered, back in June.
Besides, there are currently no competing deals for a 500GB MX500 that are cheaper. There's one result on StaticICE for the same price.
So yes, this is still a deal as of now.
@Miami Mall Alien: Cheapest current price doesn't make it a good deal
@djkelly69: For someone who needs to buy an SSD right now and can't afford a time machine, it does.
Please read the deal voting guidelines.
This worn-out old trope that always rears its head on any tech deal, where someone inevitably parrots the old line: "why buy now when it'll be cheaper later/a new model will be out soon" is really getting stupid.
@Miami Mall Alien: No, that just makes it the best price that impatient person can get at the moment (although see below).
Still doesn't make it a good deal to the public at large, which is kind of the point of this website.
@djkelly69: Read the guidelines mate. WhiskeyBurn's vote was not a valid use of a negative vote.
No, that just makes it the best price that impatient person can get at the moment
The Public =/= OzBargain. People buy products when they're needed, not always when they're cheapest.
@Miami Mall Alien: Here you are my guy: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/487143.
$84 with ebay plus or a trial with a throwaway account, and if you're an oz bargainer you defiantly have an account. Do you have some sort of vested interest in this "deal", are you associated? Never seen someone argue so hard for something this mediocre before.
That deal definitely didn't exist when you negged, so my point still stands. You negged for absolutely no reason other than your own personal opinion not based in anything remotely objective and your baseless claim that the 1TB MX500 has been as low as $90 dollars.
That "deal" is one dollar cheaper after you add the shipping cost, so it seems to me you're the one literally splitting hairs trying to prove a worthless point.
I always argue hard against the uninformed and lazy. You're welcome and next time, a five second Google search is all it takes to prevent yourself from sounding completely clueless.
I didn't say it was around $90, was simply saying the value for the 1tb is typically far better for the not even 50% increase in price.
You're ignoring ebay plus, existing or free trial, which cuts $12 off.
I did that 5 second google search. Shopping express with shipping is $101. which is $4 more every day of the week.
buh bye now, I've wasted enough time talking with your hypoglycemic ass, eat some bread mate, please mark your post as associated from now on.
while this isnt the best deal its definitely not worth negging.
If this isn't the best deal, that is a excellent reason for negging…
Can you find a better deal right now?
@smartazz104: Why are you asking me?
I'm just replying to the comment.
JacksonL is making that claim.
@jv: I thought you might have something useful to share, I didn't realise you just like to pad your post count.
I thought you might have something useful to share
Like correcting a false statement… Rather than complaining about the OzBargain community commenting…
I thought you might have something useful to share
Useful and JV in the same sentence? Surely you jest.
Might as well post a separate deal then.
Plus 12.95 postage
Unless you sprang for eBay Plus.
Pretty bad deal. Has been lower and the 1tb version is only usually a little more expensive.
