signed up on the 50/20 plan last week with tangerine. signed up and connected on the same day (byo modem). Speeds alot faster than when i was on aussie broadband for 6 months. So far could not be happier that I am getting 48mb in peak times.

I had Tangerine 50/20 for more than a year, I was happy with Tangerine first half year. But after half year, speed was horrible, Realized monthly fee also not cheap. If you wait for referrer, referee $25, they will give you 5-6 months after signing up.
I totally understand why too many people suggested Aussie Broadband NBN.

    • More detail please
      1. What connection fttn? And speed tier?
      2. Speed dropped to what? During peak time only?
      3 customer service?

      Thanks

      • 1,FTTP 50/20
2,During peak time dropped to 4-5mb(sometimes less than 1mb) and during off-peak time 9-15mb.
3,I wanted to disconnect NBN because I wasn’t happy with speed. I paid a month fee for 7 days used. They were very kind always ready to listen however I had to call 3 times to disconnect NBN property

    • Yep, I used them this time last year. They were horrific. Very aggressive speed shaping on certain protocols (eg FTP) during peak resulted in speeds around 50kbps during peak on my FTTP 50/20 connection.

Moved from Aussie to these, were… okay. Great speed during day but peak time would go to a crawl. Now moved over to Belong.

  • I dropped these guys after a week. Speeds were terrible for me. YMMV

Same here on HFC 100/40… even daytime school holidays too.
      Going back to ABB

  • When I was searching for an ISP for NBN I did a lot of research and was seriously considering Tangerine, but I read many reviews to the similar tone of the few above on both here and whirlpool and decided against them myself.

  • Just moved from Tangerine to Kogan as my $10-6 months expired.
Had the 100/40 FTTP plan and averaged 80/20Mbps even at peak.

    • were you able to cancel tangerine on the last day of billing period or did you have to give advance notice? thanks.

edit: saw someone answer my question below. cheers

I had terrible peak speeds with Tangerine. Left for Superloop. Finding Superloops 50/20 plan far better than Tangerine's 100/40.

    • How much are you paying with Superloop?

      • 74.95pm

  • Shocking speeds for a couple of households I knew that were using them.

  • My speed was pretty good, 40-45 on a 50 plan. Only left as the 6 months discount ran out

    • Worth a go just for the 6 months

What’s the cancellation policy like? 30 days notice?

      • Nah, I just called up to cancel today before the billing tomorrow. No email confirmation so shall see if I get debited on the 15th haha

Terrible speeds, mostly during peak times.
I've always gotten excellent speeds with Kogan and Aussie Broadband, even during peak times, also only Tangerine have sent me an email telling me I was using too much data.

  • I'm pretty sure the Belong deal, speeds and service would be better, going to sign up tomorrow I think ;)

I just signed up to tangerine.

Here's my result during peak hour

    Pros:
    Consistent and reliable speed
Cheap? (Paying 69.9/m for 6 months)

    Con:
    Hopeless tech support

  • Just switch from Tangerine to Superloop (HFC) connected today up from 40Mbps to 90Mbps straight away! Both plans are 100/40
