Flixster Video is now allowing users to upgrade their UltraViolet movie collection to Google Play copies of the films, pending Flixster’s closure at the end of the year.
If you’re like me you probably have have a large collection of UltaViolet codes that came with your blu-ray and DVD purchases over the last 10 years or so. Until now these were pretty much useless because UltaViolet was largely unsupported in Australia, with the exception of services like Flixster which only offered you the ability to watch these films on your mobile devices, not on your TV. Now you can upgrade these films to Google Play’s far superior service and watch them either through the Google Play apps or YouTube apps (by navigating to ‘purchases’) on pretty much any device from your OLED TV to your Nintendo Switch.
The link will take you to the migration page where you can login to Flixster and transfer any redeemed codes and purchases to Google Play. Note that if a film in your UltaViolet library is not offered by Google Play then these films cannot be transferred at this time.
Successfully redeemed and sold almost 100 codes, only had issue with one (The Matrix) the code provided by WB seems to be invalid.
